system menu, then it will not honour the proxy settings. When we open a

When I boot my Thinkpad X200s on battery, the HDD spins down after some
idle time. This behavior does NOT change when I plug the power in. Seems
bad for the HDD. Please give instructions for further diagnosis, thanks.

Hi,
Totem Movie Player is not outputting any sound while I play a .mp4 file.
I can see the video clearly though. Totem asks me to install Gstreamer,
but Ubuntu is not accepting my administrator password to open Synaptic.
I am using Ubuntu 8.10
