[Bug 375493] Re: tomcat6 needs debug start mode with jpda
Passing arbitrary Java options is supported through setting JAVA_OPTS in /etc/default/tomcat6... So if you set: JAVA_OPTS=-Xdebug -Xrunjdwp:transport=dt_socket,address=8000,server=y,suspend=n -Djava.awt.headless=true -Xmx128M You should get desired behavior. We could modify the init script so that JPDA_DEBUG becomes an option in /etc/default/tomcat6. Setting this to Wishlist. [Bug 368273] Re: Jaunty 9.04 Blind to XP's Shared Network Printer
I will be unable to report further on the bug as I replaced 32-bit Ubuntu 9.04 with the 64-bit Ubuntu 9.04 on the exact same hardware, in the exact same environment and the bug is NOT present. With 64-bit Ubuntu 9.04 I easily created a networked shared printer resident on a Windows XP machine without incident. In fact 64-bit Ubuntu 9.04 works so well that I don't know why I was previously sticking with 32-bit. The reports in flash incompatibility, etc., have not proven to be true, at least for me. I am quite impressed with 64-bit Ubuntu 9.04. 64-bit Ubuntu 9.04's apparent immunity to this bug is telling in and of itself. -- Jaunty 9.04 Blind to XP's Shared Network Printer https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/368273 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to samba in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 320771] Re: [X1950] Vertical bands of interference around HW cursor
There is still a little flickering left in the 6.12.2.99+git20090508.76fdae90-0ubuntu0tormod_i386 versions. Not sure if those are the latest and the greatest. I'm running an ATI Radeon Mobility X1600 on a Compac nc8430 laptop with a fully updated Jaunty (except for the drivers that are from Tormod's PPA). [Bug 375830] [NEW] No wireless network after user switch and logout
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: network-manager-gnome This appears to be the same as Bug 284162, however 284162 has apparently since been hijacked by a different source problem altogether. Here are the steps to reproduce: Preconditions: User 1 and User 2 have credentials to enable access to the same wireless network. No wired networking is present. 1. Log in as user 1 on a fresh system 2. Note that we are now connected to the wireless network 3. Fast user switch to user 2 4. Note that no network manager applet is visible 5. Switch back to user 1 and logout 6. Switch to user 2's session 7. Note that the network manager applet is still not visible, and no network is available. Firefox reports that we are offline. My workaround is: 8. Run nm-applet from command-line 9. Note that applet appears, and successfully connects to the wireless network. Debug output from nm-applet from the command-line follows: ** (nm-applet:18225): DEBUG: applet_common_device_state_changed ** (nm-applet:18225): DEBUG: old state indicates that this was not a disconnect 0 ** (nm-applet:18225): DEBUG: applet_common_device_state_changed ** (nm-applet:18225): DEBUG: foo_client_state_changed_cb ** (nm-applet:18225): DEBUG: applet_common_device_state_changed ** (nm-applet:18225): DEBUG: applet_common_device_state_changed ** (nm-applet:18225): DEBUG: foo_client_state_changed_cb ** Affects: network-manager-applet (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- No wireless network after user switch and logout https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/375830 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Ok. I found a workaround. 1. you can monitor your fan speed from the thinkpad-acpi module: cat /proc/acpi/ibm/fan 2. you can adjust the fan speed to stay on at full speed by executing the following command as root: echo level disengaged /proc/acpi/ibm/fan One I did that, the fan kicked up to 4000+ rpm and stayed there. [Bug 334052] Re: Network Manager Plasmoid won't connect to WPA Enterprise AP's in Jaunty
After configuring the connection secrets i read this in the logs: May 13 08:04:29 -laptop NetworkManager: info Config: added 'ca_cert' value 'blob://-org-freedesktop-NetworkManagerSettings-0-ca_cert' This is not the certificate i specified in the connection secrets. It should have been something like /home/user/cacert.pem The access point i'm trying to connect to accepts connections with or without the certificate. But a wrong certificate is not accepted. [Bug 228721] Re: [Hardy] Searching youtube videos runs 100% cpu forever.
Hi, I suspect that this has to do with the fact that if you launch totem from the system menu, then it will not honour the proxy settings. [Bug 375800] Re: Evolution in Ubuntu 9.10 crashes
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a '.crash' file. Please follow these instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer. If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport in /etc/default/apport and restart. If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch nautilus and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on the crash report you wish to submit. If you are using Kubuntu or Xubuntu you can file the crash using /usr/share/apport/apport-qt --crash-file=/var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash in a terminal - where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report. I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently. [Bug 352485] Re: X: NVidia 8800 GT not being initialized correctly
Whenever you see the message, Failed to initialize the NVIDIA graphics device, you need to check your kernel log to see why the kernel module couldn't be initialized. Your best bet is to reproduce the problem, run nvidia-bug-report.sh, and then attach the resulting log. ** Changed in: nvidia-graphics-drivers-180 (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete -- X: NVidia 8800 GT not being initialized correctly https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/352485 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 318265] Re: Network-Manager-Applet asks for PUK and PIN of only up to 4 digits long while these codes can be up to 8 digits long
As a work-around you can use the SIM card in a mobile phone enter the PUK-code there, and set a new PIN-code, then use the SIM card without problems. -- Network-Manager-Applet asks for PUK and PIN of only up to 4 digits long while these codes can be up to 8 digits long https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/318265 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
