I am configuring it from the server side - and accessing it through windows
client, so passing lfs option to smbmount is not possible or i am not aware
of how to :)
Update on the bug: I compiled debian package with --enable-largefile - no
change.
Then created a custom patch which would always call
came across this on ubuntu karmic alpha 5 , It was nice enough to share
the cpu and luckily after rebooting the cpu usage was fine.
Having to reboot was disappointing.

A tip. I have the same problem on one of my servers (ubuntu 9.04,
