samba uses two directories: * private-dir (/etc/samba/private by default) to hold various secret tdbs * state-dir (/var/lib/samba by default) fhs-filespaths.patch ensures that for passdb.tdb, secrets.tdb and schannel_store.tdb, we use state-dir instead of private-dir. qemu overrides private-dir, but not state-dir. One fix for this bug would be to set private-dir=/var/lib/samba and drop the patch, that would allow qemu to happily override it. The potential regression is about all the other files that use private-dir directly. The only one I could find in code is idmap2.tdb (code in winbindd/idmap_tdb2.c). I'm using the same configuration and the vpn is started successfully if I start it using /etc/init.d/openvpn start in both cases. You have been subscribed to a public bug: In the UEC, the CC uses avahi-publish to announce the existence of a cluster on the network. If the CC is registered, however, it will add the 169.254.169.254 address to the local interface, and for reasons we cannot determine, this interferes with avahi-publish to the point where nodes cannot see the published service using 'avahi-browse -at' any longer. We're considering a fix in Eucalyptus itself whereby we restrict the 169.254.169.254 assignment to be link-local, which allows the avahi- publish to function again (we're assuming that avahi-publish is only choosing globally scoped subnets to broadcast on?) I stumbled upon this issue last night when trying out Lift / Scala, and the getting started guide has an example using maven. Installed it, immediate failure when I tried to run. The program crashes and described in this and related bugs, because of libraries being out of sync with maven2. This is pretty much unacceptable. I would suggest getting a working version into Karmic, but if you really must, completely remove maven. It'll save people a lot of time, so they won't even try to debug the crashing. Hi, I've since replaced the faulty hardware that was causing the crashing issue so I'm not sure, but at the time it seemed to be repeatable with a clean install of the OS and pulled the power from the PSU in order to mimic a hardware failure while installing openssh.. I consider this bug fix-released at this point. Builds at http://uec-images.ubuntu.com/karmic/ are now 2G filesystem images. Their sizes are (20091012): 182M karmic-uec-amd64.tar.gz 173M karmic-uec-i386.tar.gz That is down from a 10G filesystem with download sizes of (20091007): 602M ubuntu-uec-karmic-amd64.img.gz 592M ubuntu-uec-karmic-i386.img.gz The resize-uec-image tool can resize those with basically no ill effects. Ok there are actually two bugs here. I will concentrate on the pear bug hear please open another bug for the dangling symlink its less important right now. So here are the things I have tried to fix this bug: - Applied the patch from the php bug. (Still the same result) - Patching the phar file (wont work checksums mismatch) - Replacing the phar file (wont work build will fail) So Im look for feedback on how to fix this bug short of merging php 5.2.11 from debian. This bug looks like it could be the same as bug #437783 After install postfix says: Postfix was not set up. Start with cp /usr/share/postfix/main.cf.debian /etc/postfix/main.cf Doing this cp fixed the errors for me. Before that I would always get the following on ifup/ifdown: /usr/sbin/postconf: fatal: open /etc/postfix/main.cf: No such file or directory cp: `/etc/resolv.conf' and `/etc/resolv.conf' are the same file run-parts: /etc/resolvconf/update-libc.d/postfix exited with return code 1 run-parts: /etc/resolvconf/update.d/libc exited with return code 1 Fix: The file /etc/postfix/main.cf should be installed by default as part of the postfix package, or all scripts that expect it to exist should be updated to handle the case where it doesn't.
