[Bug 410886] Re: VMBuilder doesn't work with grub2
Steve, I chose -54 because that's the version in Debian which transformed grub into a dummy transitional package. Theoretically at some point we might get round to merging that. [Bug 427094] Re: Wrong permission on file makes phpmyadmin show blank page
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we can't fix it because your description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read How to report bugs effectively http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem. We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures. At a minimum, we need: 1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem, 2. the behavior you expected, and 3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible). Thanks! When reporting bugs in the future please use apport, either via the appropriate application's Help - Report a Problem menu or using 'ubuntu-bug' and the name of the package affected. [Bug 455625] Re: Eucalyptus Loses Public IP Address
I'm reviewing the logs now to see if there are additional details. I think the max-lease-time is running out which is defined in /etc/dhcp3/dhcpd.conf. The two configurable settings are: default-lease-time 600; max-lease-time 7200; 7200 is three days, which is the right about when my public IP address went away. I restarted the instance and a new public IP address was assigned. So I expect it would expire after the max-lease-time again. I could try a test to reproduce faster by lowering default-lease-time and max-lease-time. The issue seems to be that the instance does not get a new IP address when the existing lease expires. I will try to see if the logs show that an attempt for a new IP address was made but failed. Or maybe an attempt for a new IP address was never made. -- Eucalyptus Loses Public IP Address https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/455625 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to eucalyptus in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

More info: I changed the email in the service to another email account whose server I control (and is older than the one I'm having issues with). Here's the header. Notice that there is a Date: field, which is missing from the previous header. So something in the new version (and the reason for this bug report) is preventing the Date: from being in the header! [Bug 418342] Re: akonadi-server prevents install of mysql-server-5.0
I'm starting to get a little concerned by this, with Karmic being released in the next week. Unless I'm completely misreading the package dependencies (and I'm by no means an expert on the subject), anyone installing KDE on Karmic will be prevented from also installing mysql- server 5.0. This will be a *huge* problem for people who need to develop against 5.0. The way I see it, akonadi-server currently depends on: mysql-server-core-5.1 Would fixing this not simply be a case of making it instead depend on: mysql-server-core Which would presumably allow either 5.0 or 5.1 to be installed as required by the user? -- akonadi-server prevents install of mysql-server-5.0 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/418342 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to mysql-dfsg-5.0 in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 453456] Re: excessive logs in /var/log/eucalyptus
the java (cloud, walrus, sc) components' logging uses log4j. the defaults can be found in source under: clc/modules/core/src/main/resources/log4j.xml where you'll find the following, which control the file size and the max number of files of this size that can exist param name=MaxFileSize value=10MB/ param name=MaxBackupIndex value=10/ for the C components (cc, nc), the logfiles are controlled inside the logprintfl() function, where you'll find logic for handling the roll- over. by default, there can be six files (ex: cc.log, cc.log{0-5}), each of which at most 32MB. the axis2c.log is rolled once by axis2c itself (axis2c.log and axis2c.log.old), and its size can be set through httpd.conf (128MB by default) Axis2MaxLogFileSize 128 the httpd-{cc,nc}-error_log (set in httpd.conf, again) is not rolled, but tends to grow very slowly. finally, i'm not sure where the jetty log rolling policy is set, but will find out and comment here. -- excessive logs in /var/log/eucalyptus https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/453456 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to eucalyptus in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 456602] Re: libvirtError: operation failed: could not query memory balloon allocation
I can't confirm personally because I don't have a XP install disk handy, but this looks like the following bugs: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=500968 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=519667 From 500968: Okay, I can reproduce - the key is that this is a guest which doesn't have ACPI enabled. With -no-acpi, qemu will exit immediately when issued the system_powerdown command. Then when virt-manager does a virDomainGetInfo(), libvirtd detects an error on the monitor fd and returns an error rather than handling it as a normal guest shutdown. ** Tags added: regression-potential ** Bug watch added: Red Hat Bugzilla #500968 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=500968 ** Bug watch added: Red Hat Bugzilla #519667 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=519667 -- libvirtError: operation failed: could not query memory balloon allocation https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/456602 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to libvirt in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

Thanks for the bug report. I'm declining this for Karmic right now (in that I'm not going to personally work on fixing it between now and release). If someone else has a tested, working patch (ideally from upstream libvirt), I will gladly look it over, test it, and sponsor an upload.
