I had the same problem, printing failed from Ubuntu 9.04 - Jaunty Jackalope on
a samba shared printer (on an XP PC).
The issue came from only a few apps, like Firefox, but not on OpenOffice or
Okular.

qemu-kvm window itself?
If so I don't think you're seeing the same bug -- the issue being
tracked here (and which I'm pretty sure is fixed in qemu 0.12) is a

Seems like some sort of differentiation is needed between mythvideo for
the frontend, and mythvideo for the backend.
The postinst script for mythvideo appears to create
/home/mythtv/.mythtv. On one of my frontend systems I've simply deleted

Yes, exactly. Brightness keys worked like a charm in Jaunty (which is
not surprising as it did not use KMS). As I set, I can fix this by
disabling KMS.

I went through a few things that were suggested on various forums but was
getting absolutely nowhere. I logged into my pc one morning and it started
working! I've no idea how and it still working and I check first thing everyday
to make sure it still good. Thanks for getting back to me

Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 USB (wired).
Remove external USB keyboard, suspend notebook, wake it up again, plug

Same issue in Karmic : all worked fine in Jaunty, but I was unable to
install Brother Scanner DCP-7030 on a fresh Karmic Koala (printing and
driver are OK).
I donwloaded sane-utils / Brscan3 :

On this laptop, resume from suspend to RAM barely works under Lucid,
while it works flawlessly under Jaunty.
These are the most salient aberrations:
1) The display comes back in a strange pattern of random colors and characters.

With latest updates and so forth, switching user is not an issue,
suspend/sleep (low power mode with RAM still powered) has no problems. I
believe that hibernate is ok for me. I will, when next the laptop is
free (the lady is powering through course work), try to work out exactly
how to course
