[Bug 519605] Re: File shows online but not on nautilus

2010-02-22 Thread duanedesign
F. Medeiros,
I'm sorry to hear Ubuntu One is not working properly for you. If you would like
to help debug the problem that would be greatly appreciated. You can do the
following in order to provide important details that will help determine the
root cause of this issue.

1) Quit the Ubuntu One client. R-click on the Ubuntu One applet and
select 'Quit'

2) Open Applications->Accessories->Terminal, then run the command:
  mv ~/.cache/ubuntuone/log ~/.cache/ubuntuone/log_old && mkdir
~/.cache/ubuntuone/log

3) Run the following in the Terminal to open/create this file:
 gedit ~/.config/ubuntuone/syncdaemon.conf

#Add the following two (2) lines to this file and save:
[__main__]
log_level = DEBUG

4) Open Ubuntu One Applications->Internet->Ubuntu One

5) Let Ubuntu One run for a bit, copy some files into your Ubuntu One
Folder. Then attach the following logs to this bug:
~/.cache/ubuntuone/log/syncdaemon.log & ~/.cache/ubuntuone/log
/syncdaemon-exceptions.log

You can attach logs to this bug report by clicking the 'Add Attachment
or patch' button at the bottom of the page. Thank you for filing this
bug report and helping to make Ubuntu better.

thank you,
duanedesign

[Bug 525607] Re: cannot uninstall programs.'other software applications in use'

You may have got this because another program was manipulating the
package state. Programs like synaptic package manager and the Software
Center do not play together nicely, as they both need dpkg locks. Can
you confirm that is what happened?

[Bug 516909] Re: [Clarkdale] entire desktop environment locks up in 9.10, i3-530 proc, built-in graphics

2010-02-22 Thread madbiologist
The GL in GLBLUR sounds like OpenGL. You probably already know that
OpenGL is the 3D graphics acceleration system in Linux. Using this will
stress the graphics stack (kernel+Mesa3D+driver) more than ordinary
desktop work, and may possibly expose some remaining bugs and/or
limitations. My guess is that that is what has happened here. Did
apport trigger and create a bug report? If so, you can use apport-
collect 516909 to attach the data from the crash to this bug report.

The final 2.6.33 kernel should be out soon. You are encouraged to try
that.

[Bug 526264] [NEW] sqlite3 completion restricted to .sqlite files

2010-02-22 Thread Erno Kuusela
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: bash-completion

The following line is wrong, I think:
/etc/bash_completion:complete -f -X '!*.sqlite' sqlite3

There's no de-facto/common suffix for sqlite database files, and i haven't seen
any that used the .sqlite suffix.
So the completion directive makes it harder to use sqlite from the command line.

[Bug 84880] Re: firefox uploads files with wrong mimetype

2010-02-22 Thread Michael JasonSmith
[Ubuntu 9.10, Firefox 3.5.8]

When I posted PDF files using Firefox the MIME-type was being set to
text/html. However, I noticed in
~/.mozilla/firefox/xxx.default/mimeTypes.rdf the following entry

pdf
html
htm
shtml

After removing the line "pdf"
and restarting Firefox I posted two PDF files, and the MIME-type was
correctly set on both.

Have you tried removing your main and CMOS batteries? The CMOS battery

voiding your warranty. I really hope that would solve it, firmware

It is a bug in the Java JRE, not in pcsc-lite.

I talk to someone at Sun but I don't know if this bug will be corrected one day.
I propose to fix the problem in sun-java-6 instead of using workarounds.

[Bug 526257] [NEW] Compiz mirrors screens on return from suspend/hibernate--dual monitors

2010-02-22 Thread Chris Conatser
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: compiz

Expected behavior: upon return from suspend, dual monitors should show exactly
what was on them before suspend.
Actual behavior: upon suspend, secondary monitor (located above primary
monitor) shows what was on it before suspend, but primary monitor simply
mirrors secondary monitor. Mouse pointer can move freely over both monitors as
if they were a single large desktop (as though compiz does not realize that the
background is simply a zombie mirror), but only secondary monitor responds to
click.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Turn on computer (in my case, an HP dv100 notebook with an extra, external
monitor--both monitors 1280x768; running Karmic clean install).
2. Log in.
3. Check that the two monitors are displaying separate images, creating a large
dual-desktop.
4. Suspend/hibernate the computer (in my case, closing the lid works).
5. awaken the computer and type in password.
6. The secondary monitor (physically topmost) will look like before, but the
primary monitor (laptop screen, located below the secondary monitor) will show
a nonfunctional mirror of the secondary monitor.

Apologies for not attaching a log--Alt+F2 opens dialog box on my primary
monitor, where it doesn't show or function when bug is in effect.

[Bug 524299] Re: [GM45] Can't use external monitor at full resolution

2010-02-22 Thread David Kedves
Today i found a workaround to get my external monitor working.
When I plug-in my monitor only after bootup (when my Gnome session is active),
the Display Preferences can properly recognize my monitor,
and i can use it at full resolution (1920x1080). :-D

Please let me know if You need any logs...

[Bug 104435] Re: [apport] briquolo crashed with SIGSEGV

2010-02-22 Thread Boniek
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to
look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many
changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem
may have been fixed with some of the updates. If you could test the
current Ubuntu development version, this would help us a lot. If you can
test it, and it is still an issue, we would appreciate if you could
upload updated logs by running apport-collect , and any other
logs that are relevant for this particular issue.

[Bug 526249] [NEW] Init script is broken in bird and bird6 packages

2010-02-22 Thread Michael T. Halligan
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: bird

Upon installing bird and bird6 it becomes clear that there is a bug in
the init scripts for both packages due to an errant semi-colon at the
end of their init scripts.

Ubuntu Release: Ubuntu 9.10
Affected packages: bird-1.0.15-2 and bird6-1.0.15-2

The following Diffs fix this:

[Bug 520335] Re: package mysql-server-5.1 5.1.37-1ubuntu5 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess new pre-removal script returned error exit status 1

2010-02-22 Thread Pieroxy
How does this comment makes the bug invalid? The package cannot still be
installed!

Does the process for updating one's Ubuntu is to go through Launchpad to
see why the package couldn't be installed?

[Bug 526125] Re: Opened Ubuntu One client, and it crashed after 2 minutes or so

2010-02-22 Thread duanedesign
jugney,
I'm sorry to hear Ubuntu One is not working properly for you. If you would like
to help debug the problem that would be greatly appreciated. You can do the
following in order to provide important details that will help determine the
root cause of this issue.

1) Quit the Ubuntu One client. R-click on the Ubuntu One applet and
select 'Quit'

2) Open Applications->Accessories->Terminal, then run the command:
  mv ~/.cache/ubuntuone/log ~/.cache/ubuntuone/log_old && mkdir
~/.cache/ubuntuone/log

3) Run the following in the Terminal to open/create this file:
 gedit ~/.config/ubuntuone/syncdaemon.conf

#Add the following two (2) lines to this file and save:
[__main__]
log_level = DEBUG

4) Open Ubuntu One Applications->Internet->Ubuntu One

5) Let Ubuntu One run for a bit, copy some files into your Ubuntu One
Folder. Then attach the following logs to this bug:
~/.cache/ubuntuone/log/syncdaemon.log & ~/.cache/ubuntuone/log
/syncdaemon-exceptions.log

You can attach logs to this bug report by clicking the 'Add Attachment
or patch' button at the bottom of the page. Thank you for filing this
bug report and helping to make Ubuntu better.

thank you,
duanedesign

[Bug 480026] Re: [KARMIC] [RO] Cannot use Romanian accented characters after last update

Hello,

This was "magically" solved long time ago, after some online update.
IMHO, this can be closed.

Best regards,
Răzvan

[Bug 507416] Re: CONFIG_NEON=y causes platform lockups with certain application/platform combinations

2010-02-22 Thread Emmet Hikory
** Description changed:

Observed for example running ffplay to decode H.264 video on Babbage 2.0

This needs to be worked around by a separate kernel image for the
affected platforms, or the ability to enable or disable CONFIG_NEON at
  boot.

Note that the principal problem here is the reporting of neon in the
auxv AT_HWCAP word and /proc/cpuinfo which may mislead userspace apps
  into using NEON.

The NEON context-switching code enabled by CONFIG_NEON should not itself
  cause problems.
+
+ TEST CASE
+ ===
+
+ 1) Download the neon-checker.tar.gz attachment
+ 2) Build this with the following:
+ $ gcc -g -march=armv7 -mfpu=neon -o neon-check neon-check.s
+ $ gcc -g -march=armv7 -mfpu=neon -o neon-probe neon-probe.s
+ 3) Run each of neon-check and neon-probe
+ $ ./neon-check &
+ $ ./neon-probe &
+
+ Result if bug is present:
+ neon-check will exit immediately with SIGILL or print error messages
+
+ Result if bug is addressed:
+ both programs run without error endlessly
+ (this can be considered satisfied aftern an hour or so for SRU verification
purposes)

[Bug 522982] Re: No Sound on Lenovo W510 / T510

2010-02-22 Thread d3mia7
I found another Ubuntu user on the Lenovo forums who had lost sound on
his system with this model after a crash. Unfortunately his machine had
to be repaired by Lenovo.

I am concerned there is something causing actual hardware damage here!

This log shows you're calling cryptsetup with an argument of
'/dev/sdc1:' which indeed will not exist. The correct name is
'/dev/sdc1'. I don't think you have the same bug as the submitter.
