Dustin: It's certainly possible. It was easy enough to reproduce this
bug - I just ran one VM per CPU core, doing constant IO stress for about
8 hours and it entirely consumed the 8GB in the machine, so when that's
SRU'd we can test to see if it's fixed :)

Yeah, setting irqbalance to respawn isn't a good idea. If there's only
one core, irqbalance will terminate immediately. If there's only one CPU
(possibly with multiple cores), irqbalance goes into oneshot mode and
will terminate after ~10 seconds of runtime (SLEEP_INTERVAL is 10

I can confirm this is working in maverick. Manually skewing the date,
restarting and checking the date reports the current date/time. It's

Nope, I didn't do that before hand. I copied it after it failed. But it
seems it's then to late already. I still don't quite understand how the
keys can be missing - I thought they are setup when registering a
cluster. I also believe this is where it went wrong.

~/guest01.state (pwd is /root)
to restore the guest, I use virsh -c qemu:///system restore ~/guest01.state

just my 2 cents: The problem was (in my case) that at the time mysql
upstart job is fired /var/run isn't mounted. There should be a tempfs in
/var/run. Additional apparmor prevents mysql to put its sock under
/var/run instead of /var/run/mysqld.

Nope - this is not true: This version of qemu-img does *not* detect qcow2
images which life inside a LVM2 logical volume.
Without the patch, qemu-img detects a 'host_device' in this case, e.g.
'qemu-img snapshot -l ...' does not print anything.
With the patch applied 'qemu-img snapshot -f qcow2

Not as far as I was aware.
Thunderbird and Chrome were the only apps running at the time.
A similar problem occurred when I upgraded from Karmic to Lucid, but a
reboot sorted the issue.

@Mr. Bug - I think you've got other problems if /var/run is not mounted
by the time mysql starts. And mysql is already set to start after all
local filesystems.

Just FYI, we're definitely adding virtio support, for both network and
disk, in the next release (Ye is working on it right now). It will be an
option that can be turned on by default on Ubuntu.

That said, it's trivial to fix with a symlink. So I just uploaded a fix
