[Bug 595388] [NEW] starting kvm guests with libvirt on virthost startup doesn't wait till all dependencies are available
Public bug reported: Hallo! One of our kvm guests has its system on a SAN (AoE) device. This aoe device is available about 2 minutes after startup. The libvirt startup script tries to start the guest earlier. The guest dies with: qemu: could not open disk image /dev/etherd/e9.2: No such file or directory Is it possible to test for this dependency or insert a wait command? Public bug reported: Eucalyptus (1.6.2), doesn't work with the latest version of Groovy (1.7). This version is the version in Maverick, it is only possible to start Eucalyptus if lucid's version of Groovy (1.6) is installed. A developmental work around is to enable the following PPA, which installs 1.6 following an upgrade: ppa:davewalker/groovy This is not an ideal solution, but a development work around until Eucalyptus is compatible with Groovy 1.7 (or in the worst case, Groovy 1.6 is shipped in Maverick). Actually, http://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=44522 is concerned with uploading data to the server, which according to 44522 breaks at the 2G byte mark (a signed 32 bit int issue). This bug (564920, php # 52102) is an issue with downloading data from the server, which breaks at the 4G byte mark. Both are 32 bit vs 64 bit integer issues. So, this is not exactly a duplicate bug. An update... I've discovered that the cas.ucdavis.edu machine does not correctly deal with fragmented IP packets. I thought this might be the problem but then I went looking for those types of packets and found none (I'll still try to get that fixed though). Then I discovered that on the client hello packet (first packet after the connection is established) on a Lucid machine shows up in wireshark as the TLSv1 protocol and on a Karmic machine it shows up as a SSLv2 protocol. I wonder why this changed? Hi, I am having the same issue with my cdrom drive and after 3 weeks of reading in the forum and trying out several steps I am pretty sure that it is hardware related, because: Only by changing the CDROM DVD R/RW I got it working perfectly now. the symptom in Ubuntu 10.04 (and also 9.10): Cdrom is not recognized automatically, only in some seldom cases when I reboot the machine with CDROM placed already. But then I can not change the CD again, because it will not be recognized anymore (although lshw -disk shows the cdrom drive) As it is reproduceable by exchanging only the CDROM hardware, I could send you the detailed hardware information and logs you need in order to track the issue down to the root cause. I have installed both UBUNTU versions in parallel; 10.04LTS 32bit and also 9.10 32bit. Both show same behavior with both CDROM Drives. so the issue is reproduceable. I can also try out latest kernel version (2.6.34 or 35), but I do not know whether this will help. As I am not a Linux expert (but some shell scripting I know and also installing linux kernel via apt-get works fine) Can anyone send me the commands that I need to use in order to send you the information in order to track the issue down to its root cause? Hi, thanks for the messages. I'm downloading the latest build (10.10) and will re-install with that today when I get the chance. Currently the computer only very occasionally boots successfully so running anything from the terminal is going to be difficult. I'll update again later. @Miro: Intrepid isn't any more supported. Anyway, this bug is fixed for the nvidia 96 series. The Tnt2 is part of the older 71 driver which does not support the new xservers (Jaunty and higher) but this bug report isn't about xserver support (and don't open a bug about xserver's compatibility, only nvidia can provide a fix). Nvidia isn't probably going to release a fix for it in the near future.
