I just added your PPA to our dual quad-processor system, and
successfully booted a Server 2008 VM with 6 vcpus attached. Everything
appears to be working well, and I'll be leaving the PPA in please until

reasoning behind this?
I'm asking because I was about to report it as a bug when I came across
this report. To me this seems like the launcher in effect breaks

I just added your PPA to our dual quad-processor system, and
successfully booted a Server 2008 VM with 6 vcpus attached. Everything
appears to be working well, and I'll be leaving the PPA in please until
it's SRU'd or the next LTS comes out.

My broadband dongle (ZTE MF 102) is automatically detected when I used
Lucid. But, there is nothing detected when I upgrade to Maverick (Alpha
3). I did try to restart (hard boot) few times but the dongle is still
undetected. The shortcut to install the software appeared on

people still doesn't use what they will use in UNE because of this bug
(evolution express for instance). We have to get that working ASAP to

Being curious about Maverick, I went to cdimage.ubuntu.com and downloaded the
daily live CD. When booting it, I got nothing but a white underscore that would
stay there forever. I then tried to go through the options at F6 and detected
that with acpi=off
To get debug information while booting, remove the 'splash' and 'quiet'
options from the boot command. If booting with the liveCD, press F6
(other options) to display/edit the boot command. If booting with grub,
press 'e' (edit) to modify the boot command. (See

Perhaps a Tool Dialogue would be in place to change settings for inset,
outset and alike. The values in Preferences, of course, will be the
default values for teh values used in the Tool Dialogue.
Offering such a Tool Dialogue will stimulate users to use this
functionality because they can alter
One more thing I'd like you to do actually, just to be 100% sure of
things. Could you please remove the model parameter you made in
/etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf, reboot, and attach your dmesg output to
this bug.
