2010-10-12 Thread Matt Davey
Understood. All those conduits are part of the 'gnome-pilots-conduits'
package. If you don't need those conduits you can just ignore the
messages. Otherwise, wait for a gnome-pilots-conduits package to appear
:)

[Bug 659661] Re: Sound problems since upgrading from 10.04 to 10.10 with kernel 2.6.35-22.

2010-10-12 Thread Nitesh Mistry
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Unfortunately we can't fix it without more information.
Would you please add the information requested from the "Reporting Sound
Bugs" section of https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingSoundProblems as
separate attachments?

Also, please run the following command to attach necessary information:

apport-collect 659661

Bear in mind that you may need to install the python-launchpadlib
package from the universe repository with 'sudo apt-get install python-
launchpadlib'. Additionally, when prompted to give apport-collect
permissions for Launchpad you will need to give it at least the ability
to "Change Non-Private" data as it will be adding information to your
bug report.

Thanks in advance.

[Bug 659684] Re: at top-left the background of 'Inkorg' is messed up

2010-10-12 Thread Omer Akram
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your
description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful
to read "How to report bugs effectively"
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful
if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.

We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures

At a minimum, we need:
1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the
problem,
2. the behavior you expected, and
3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).
Thanks!

[Bug 659686] Re: transmission works very slowly in 10.10

2010-10-12 Thread jrd
I have the same problem as RedSingularity. The interface seem extremely
sluggish. Clicking, selecting, scrolling; it's all slow with a delay,
even the menus.

Some info:

- I upgraded from 10.04 to 10.10 (I had no problem with transmission on 10.04)
- I tried updating from their ppa to version 2.10. Still no improvement.
- I don't have proprietary driver installed (They don't support my card - 310M)
- No other apps have this sluggish behavior
- Maverick has frozen on my twice yesterday (upgrade 2 days ago). Both times
transmission was open. Didn't open transmission today and no freezes. However,
could be coincidence.

[Bug 659696] [NEW] Terminal screen grows too big

2010-10-12 Thread Braiam Peguero
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: update-manager

I have upgraded to Maverick today, and feel it that the screen is more
big (a trick with the font size), as usually I had to activate the ppa
and extras repositories, then install the versions that should work on
Maverick. When I want to see details about dpkg installation progress
the windows fills up to 60% of my screen. Can this be changed to a
better font size for the terminal.

Yet I know that is a wish, so please mark as it.

[Bug 659694] [NEW] Upgrade process stops due to recurring error of pre-dependent packages

2010-10-12 Thread Leviathan
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: update-manager

Hello Folks

Whenever I try to upgrade my distribution of Kubuntu 10.04 to the latest
version, the updating process stops working. The error is as follows:
E:Couldn't configure pre-dependent x11-common for x11-xkb-utils,
probably a dependency cycle.

Then I'll get error code 1. What is it meaning?

My System:
Description:Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS
Release:10.04

Best regards,
Leviathan

[Bug 374416] Re: Documents silently fail to print

2010-10-12 Thread Bodinux
More news on this item:

The above problems are fixed : printing from the network is not a
problem anymore (as per my test from this morning).

Nevertheless if I have a two page document, with one page in color and
the other in B&W, the document doesn't print with the color queue. As it
says in the title of this bug : it silently fails to print.

hope that this not persists in Ubuntu 10.10. (Can someone confirm this

2010-10-12 Thread Nitesh Mistry
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we can't fix it without more information.

Please run the following command which will attach necessary
information:

apport-collect 659668

Bear in mind that you may need to install the python-launchpadlib
package from the universe repository with 'sudo apt-get install python-
launchpadlib'. Additionally, when prompted to give apport-collect
permissions for Launchpad you will need to give it at least the ability
to "Change Non-Private" data as it will be adding information to your
bug report.

We would also like to know if you are facing this problem for the first
time in 10.10 or did you have same issues in 10.04 as well (in case you
were using 10.04 before installing 10.10)?

For your reference, the full description of procedures for kernel
related bug reports is available at

advance!

2.6.36-rc7 - not good
2.6.36.-rc5 - not good (although better than rc7)
2.6.35-22 - no good
2.6.34 - good
2.6.32 (lucid kernel) - good

The only option to work with newer kernels is to disable polling.

Using a ThinkPad T400 in 32-bit PAE mode (w/i915 graphics).

2010-10-12 Thread chaghaboo
I thought Emphaty doesn't start when "Automatically connect on startup"
is checked because of bug, just as many others. I agree in full with
cldx, Robomaster and alike comments considering pattern Emphaty should
behave. It's the only way that makes sense.

[Bug 651678] Re: anjuta crashes with assertion failure on startup

2010-10-12 Thread Jonathan L. Verner
I am experiencing this too with Inkscape on Kubuntu Maverick, having a
nonstandard icon theme. If I change the
gtk theme to something different from QtCurve or if I set the icon theme to
Oxygen everything works ok.
The only combination which doesn't work for me is QtCurve+Faenza Icon theme.

Got almost exactly the same backtrace as Benjamin Wohlwend.

Interestingly the gtk-file icon exists in the Faenza icon theme, while
oxygen does not have it.

[Bug 461632] Re: On Hibernate: btusb_bulk_complete: hci0 urb f2fdbe00 failed to resubmit (1)

I have seen this on my
(1) HP tx2000
(2) Dell inspiron n5010
on
(1) karmic
(2) lucid
(3) maverick

The bug is still there in maverick. I have not been using bluetooth on a
regular basis at all. When I do use it, it works. I don't see any issue
using bluetooth after a hibernate.

Hibernate is very slow because of this. There seems to be some sort of a
time-out.

[Bug 659681] [NEW] Suspend/Resume doesn't work after upgrade to 10.10

2010-10-12 Thread Balwinder Sodhi
Public bug reported:

I just upgraded to Ubuntu 10.10 from 10.04. Among many other things that
it broke, the most annoying one was suspend/resume. The laptop (Sony
VIAO VGN-SR53GF) doesn't resume from suspend. The disk LED does
constantly light, but nothing comes back on screen. It used to work
perfectly prior to the upgrade. I have to do a hard boot to bring the
system up.

Other things that broke were:
1. VMWare Player 3.1 stopped working (it was not able to re-compile the
necessary components as needed due to kernel upgrade)
2. Texlive broke.

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: update-manager

n unresolvable problem occurred while calculating the upgrade:
Trying to install blacklisted version 'blcr-dkms_0.8.2-13'

 This can be caused by:
 * Upgrading to a pre-release version of Ubuntu
 * Running the current pre-release version of Ubuntu
 * Unofficial software packages not provided by Ubuntu

If none of this applies, then please report this bug against the
'update-manager' package and include the files in /var/log/dist-upgrade/
in the bug report.

[Bug 659675] [NEW] Indicator applet reports "No indicators"

2010-10-12 Thread Akdor 1154
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xfce4-indicator-plugin

xfce4-indicator-applet reports "no indicators"; the gnome indicator applet
inside xfapplet correctly displays my session and messages indicators.
A quick look at the source of
debian/patches/01_somethingaboutindicator0.3compat, and an ls
/usr/lib/indicators led me to try ln -s /usr/lib/indicators/3
/usr/lib/indicators/4 with great results. Not sure this is a good permanent
solution however. :)

Just binged on coffee so my grammar may not be the best, sorry. :)
