[Bug 663111] [NEW] bash_completion script errors: undefined variables, failed GLOB
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: bash-completion The main /etc/bash_completion script and many of the helper scripts under /etc/bash_completion.d/ fail for shells running with one or both of "set -o nounset" (fail if variables are used without being defined) and/or "shopt -s failglob" (fail if a GLOB pattern fails to match). I run my interactive shells with both these options set. For example: bash$ set -o nounset bash$ source /etc/bash_completion.ORIG bash: BASH_COMPLETION_DEBUG: unbound variable bash: BASH_COMPLETION: unbound variable bash: BASH_COMPLETION_DIR: unbound variable bash: BASH_COMPLETION_COMPAT_DIR: unbound variable bash: BASH_COMPLETION: unbound variable bash: li...@]: unbound variable bash: BASH_COMPLETION_COMPAT_DIR: unbound variable bash: BASH_COMPLETION_DIR: unbound variable bash: BASH_COMPLETION: unbound variable Also, a few of the "eval" expressions in the scripts use backslashes but fail to fully protect square bracket characters on arrays, which are then taken as failed GLOB expressions. The attached patch fixes at least some of the problems with the main script so that it runs without error for shells using "set -o nounset" and "shopt -s failglob". The helper scripts for findutils and mutt in /etc/bash_completion.d/ also have errors when used in shells using "set -o nounset" and "shopt -s failglob", but I'm not so confident that I understand them to fix them correctly. Here are some patches that remove some of the errors in these scripts but don't seem to fully work properly: --- .findutils.ORIG 2010-08-06 19:39:13.0 -0400 +++ findutils 2010-10-18 11:52:07.982166655 -0400 @@ -5,7 +5,7 @@ have find && _find() { -local cur prev i exprfound onlyonce +local cur prev i exprfound= onlyonce COMPREPLY=() _get_comp_words_by_ref cur prev --- .mutt.ORIG 2010-08-06 19:39:13.0 -0400 +++ mutt2010-10-12 11:23:48.717163963 -0400 @@ -22,6 +22,7 @@ _muttrc() { # Search COMP_WORDS for '-F muttrc' or '-Fmuttrc' argument +local muttrc= set -- "${comp_wor...@]}" while [ $# -gt 0 ]; do if [ "${1:0:2}" = -F ]; then @@ -55,13 +56,14 @@ sofar=" $1 " shift -while [[ "$1" ]]; do -newconffiles=( $(sed -n 's|^source[[:space:]]\{1,\}\([^[:space:]]\{1,\}\).*$|\1|p' $(eval echo $1) ) ) -for file in "${newconffil...@]}"; do +while [[ $# -gt 0 && "$1" ]]; do +newconffiles=( $(sed -n 's|^source[[:space:]]\{1,\}\([^[:space:]]\{1,\}\).*$|\1|p' "$1" ) ) +for file in "${newconffil...@]-}"; do [[ ! [Bug 663110] [NEW] OOo 3.2.1 - Using match() function, macros are not opened when document is opened as a template
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: openoffice.org The problem seems to be related with the match() function, if I don't include it the macros are opened when I open the document as a template, when I include it the macros are not opened (I get an error message of Script could not be ... ). I create two simple spreadsheets to reproduce. test1.ods: it just has a macro to open test2.ods as a template, and a button to trigger the macro. test2.ods: it has a macro that prints "Hello World", customization to open the macro both when the file opened as a new document template) or normally, and a couple of cells with data and another one with the function match() to read from these data. Steps to reproduce: 1) open test2.ods directly, macro is executed. 2) open test1.ods and click the button to open test2.ods as a template, error is reported and macros are not loaded 3) a) open test2.ods and erase the cell with the match function, save b) open test1.ods and click the button to open test2.ods, macro is loaded and executed without any problem Including any other function that I tried in test2.ods instead of match() does not reproduce the problem, as far as I can tell. This happens to me using OOo 3.2.1 in Ubuntu, so it started hapenning with Maverick when 3.2.1 started being shipped. I'm not able to reproduce it using 3.2.1 under Windows, or version 3.2.0 in Fedora 13. However it still prints the above message to stderr if I click or interact with the tray icon in any way. It will also print when changing song, even with all kinds of notifications disabled. After I close Amarok normally and start it again with amarok --debug, this is printed, seemingly endlessly (on a 2.67Ghz Core i7, I've let it run for ~5 minutes with no end). The tray icon appears in the tray, but the option to maximise/open Amarok is greyed out and the tray icon doesn't respond in any meaningful way. amarok: our service is not ready! queuing track and returning proxy amarok: our service is not ready! queuing track and returning proxy amarok: BEGIN: virtual void Playlist::Model::metadataChanged(Meta::TrackPtr) amarok: [Playlist::Model] Metadata updated for track "" amarok: END__: virtual void Playlist::Model::metadataChanged(Meta::TrackPtr) - Took 0.00052s amarok: our service is not ready! queuing track and returning proxy amarok: our service is not ready! queuing track and returning proxy amarok: BEGIN: virtual void Playlist::Model::metadataChanged(Meta::TrackPtr) amarok: [Playlist::Model] Metadata updated for track "" amarok: END__: virtual void Playlist::Model::metadataChanged(Meta::TrackPtr) - Took 0.00056s amarok: our service is not ready! queuing track and returning proxy amarok: our service is not ready! queuing track and returning proxy amarok: BEGIN: virtual void Playlist::Model::metadataChanged(Meta::TrackPtr) amarok: [Playlist::Model] Metadata updated for track "" amarok: END__: virtual void Playlist::Model::metadataChanged(Meta::TrackPtr) - Took 0.00053s amarok: our service is not ready! queuing track and returning proxy amarok: our service is not ready! queuing track and returning proxy amarok: BEGIN: virtual void Playlist::Model::metadataChanged(Meta::TrackPtr) amarok: [Playlist::Model] Metadata updated for track "" amarok: END__: virtual void Playlist::Model::metadataChanged(Meta::TrackPtr) - Took 0.00057s -- many error (bug?) messages on console https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/582470 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Kubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to amarok in ubuntu. -- kubuntu-bugs mailing list kubuntu-b...@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-bugs

[Bug 663105] [NEW] maverick: gnome-power-manager does not display battery percentage on left icon click, even when told so by gconf-editor - instead wants to calculate time even if not possible
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager Since upgrading from lucid to 10.10 maverick, gnome-power-manager (icon) does not display remaining battery percentage on my laptops as I was used to and which is the only possibility as the hardware is already a bit of age and does not support this time estimation (HP Omnibook XE3-GC, built around 2001). Instead, it wants to display the estimated remaining time which cannot be calculated, therefore on a left click it says in German "wird ermittelt...", which could be something like "being estimated" or "being calculated" in English. gconf-editor provides a setting for disabling the time-based display of information, but it does not seem to work - percentage does not become available on tool tip / left click. All information about the battery is present when opening the detailed dialog, so it seems to be just a problem about selecting the value for display. Please make the percentage available again, at least according to the gconf-editor option or based on a mechanism that disables time estimation as soon as it detects to be impossible. ** Affects: gnome-power-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- maverick: gnome-power-manager does not display battery percentage on left icon click, even when told so by gconf-editor - instead wants to calculate time even if not possible https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/663105 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Daniel, it's a bit strange that you have not just one, but two registered sessions; did you have this with the old lxdm as well? Oops. I should really have checked my instructions, rather than relying on memory. I was using synaptic package manager at the same time Try these steps. 1) Start update-manager, and minimize it. 2) Start synaptic package manager, and minimize it 3) Click on update-manager's icon in the taskbar, update-manager will restore its window 4) Click on the "Check" button, a dialog box warning "There is another synaptic running in interactive mode. Please close it first" will be displayed 5) Close this dialog; synapic will be restored. 6) Close synaptic 7) Minimize the update-manager again. 8) Run a second instance of update-manager Hopefully, the first instance won't be restored. -- update-manager: does not deiconify when second instance is started https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/662125 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 492658] Re: Rhythmbox not load cover arts
This bug is a simple omission in a search handler. In MusicBrainzCoverArtSearch.py, someone forgot to implement the method get_result_meta. It's just a stub that does nothing important, but the overall search algorithm expects it to be there, and when it's not, it returns a runtime error rather than trying the found URL. Basically, this would be a compile error if it were a C program, but since it's Python, it becomes a cryptic runtime error. Attached is a patch which fixes this bug. It implements a stub for get_result_meta, which causes the MusicBrainz search handler to happily download the album art. ** Patch added: "add a missing sub method that allows the MusicBrainz search handler to return results" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/rhythmbox/+bug/492658/+attachment/1701026/+files/95_rhythmbox-0.13.1__plugins__artdisplay__artdisplay__MusicBrainzCoverArtSearch.py.patch ** Summary changed: - Rhythmbox not load cover arts + Rhythmbox MusicBrainz cover art search engine fails to load available cover art -- Rhythmbox MusicBrainz cover art search engine fails to load available cover art https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/492658 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I also have the problem on an Asus eee-pc 900 with Ubuntu 10.10. I run Evolution, click on the Calendar button, and when the calendar displays, the display seems to be the wrong size. Clicking anywhere on the calendar makes the screen jump up, and the click registers some distance above or below where the click was to happen, and results in a wrong or no action.
