Re: [Bug 663920] Re: public IPs unroutable from instances
Hi It's not fair to assume that the public ip is bound to a local interface. That's not how ec2 works. It does seem reasonable to expect to route to that ip thoigh Chris Jones On 20 Oct 2010, at 16:18, Ricardo Kirkner 663...@bugs.launchpad.net wrote: Each network interface should be accessible from within the instance. [Bug 616719] Re: slow group indexing when using huge ldap
Klaus: in an environment of this size, I strongly recommend against using libnss-ldap, because it just doesn't scale well enough. Please try installing nslcd and libnss-ldapd (notice the d), get it running, after that add nscd again, and evaluate if this better fits your needs. If it doesn't, you might also have a look at sssd and libnss-sss, but AFAICR that's only really available starting from maverick. BTW both these daemons come with their own pam packages, which replace libpam-ldap. -- slow group indexing when using huge ldap https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/616719 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to libnss-ldap in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 664424] Re: PUT unable to upload to server - Error Code 1
The default behaviour for tftpd is to not create new files, i.e. you can upload to an existing file location (as long as it has the correct permissions) but you can't create new files on the tftpd server. You can change this behaviour by adding the --create parameter to TFTP_OPTIONS in /etc/default/tftpd-hpa and amending the directory permissions on /var/lib/tftpboot. However you should do this with EXTREME CAUTION; this effectively allows any remote client to upload data with no authentication to your server which could create potential Denial of Service problems due to full file systems etc... I checked this in Lucid as well and this behaviour has not changed for Maverick. ** Changed in: tftp-hpa (Ubuntu) Status: New = Invalid -- PUT unable to upload to server - Error Code 1 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/664424 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to tftp-hpa in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

Agreed Scott, I have been using OpenSSH for many many years, since the first port to Linux, and I never knew about this (pretty cool) way of removing old keys. A workaround (certainly not a solution) is to put a grep -v in the pipeline between the SHOWMOUNT and the awk that prints it in the expected format for autofs. [Bug 630001] Re: Bluetooth: pairing Apple Wireless keyboard constantly disconnects and reconnects
Well, I can't explain why, but my keyboard is BACK after the latest round of upgrades. I don't see anything in the changelog for kernel 2.6.35-22.25 that suggests why, and nothing bluez-related has been upgraded other than pulseaudio. -- Bluetooth: pairing Apple Wireless keyboard constantly disconnects and reconnects https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/630001 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 406104] Re: package python-cheetah 2.0.1-2ubuntu3 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Hi Adam, thanks for taking the time (over a year ago!) to file this bug report and help us make Ubuntu better. This was a problem in python-support, not cheetah from what I can see. Reassigning as such. As far as reproducing it, I think this may be a moot point, as 0.90.0 moved private modules to a specific dir and may have corrected the issue. I'm going to close this as Invalid, given that jaunty is EOL as of Saturday, and the problem doesn't jump out at me as re-ocurring in the list of open bugs already. My guess is this was caused by some other error which isn't obvious. ** Changed in: cheetah (Ubuntu) Status: New = Invalid ** Package changed: cheetah (Ubuntu) = python-support (Ubuntu) -- package python-cheetah 2.0.1-2ubuntu3 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/406104 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Hi Peter, thanks for taking the time to file this bug report and help us make Ubuntu better! Can you elaborate a bit more on updating a neglected system. What we need is information to help reproduce this problem. Given that jaunty support will be ended in 3 days, its hard to justify much effort to reproduce the issue, but maybe if you can show the exact sequence that led to this situation, we can reproduce on newer supported releases and fix the issue. [Bug 601709] Re: Laptop goes to sleep right after plugging/unplugging power cord
Thanks for the continued interest in this bug. The computer that I'm writing about is my wife's school laptop; as such, I can't reload a new operating system on it during the semester (which ends in late December). Do you think it would be sufficient/helpful for me to test it using a live CD or USB drive? It took some tweaking to get Ubuntu to load on this laptop (after Karmic), including some kernel/boot options to make the video not lock up on boot (black screen). I'm pretty sure I can get it to boot and run a test, but I'd first like to know if this method of testing would be helpful. [Bug 660299] Re: Missing dependency
Hi Pepe, I don't think what you're experiencing is related to this bug. At least adding a new feed works fine here. I'd recommend starting gpodder from a terminal so that you can watch for any error messages. Alternatively, I'd try working with a fresh config file (just rename ~/.config/gpodder so that you can rename it back after testing) to see if that changes anything.
