The caps lock is used as modifier (similar to shift) in NEO. When I press caps lock + t, then the client prints - a t instead of a -. I ran into the same issue and only was lucky because i disable password based ssh login on my machines. This is a security issue, not wishlist, please change importance. Insecure defaults must be changed or at least very prominently warned about. Mentioning this behavior in the help page is not enough. I just tried setting up a fresh lucid VM, installing snmpd and munin- node, and running this: sudo sh -c 'munin-node-configure --snmp localhost --shell | sh' This configured 5 plugins /etc/munin/plugins/snmp_localhost_* With * being netstat, rdp_users, swap, uptime, winload then sudo service munin-node restart Then when I netcat into localhost port 4949 I get #munin node at ubuntu.defaultdomain list cpu df df_inode entropy forks fw_packets if_err_eth0 if_eth0 interrupts iostat iostat_ios irqstats load memory open_files open_inodes proc_pri processes snmp_localhost_netstat snmp_localhost_uptime snmp_localhost_winload swap threads uptime users vmstat So some but not all showed up (I suspect munin-node-configure is a little bit confused and snmp_localhost_rdp_users isn't working.. ;) Anyway, can you provide a clear set of steps to repeat the problem that maybe differ from the ones I've laid out above? I know this is confusing, but you actually need to purge the underlying packages as well: aptitude purge mysql-server-5.1 When you run this, it should ask you for confirmation before removing all databases. You can find all packages that are removed but not purged with dpkg -l |grep '^rc' You should see something in there like rc mysql-server-5.1 5.1.49-1ubuntu8.1 MySQL database server binaries and system database setup Please purge that package, and if the files are still there, feel free to re-open this bug report with more information. Hi Jason, That is interesting. Just so we're 100% clear: your hard-lockup is still related to APIC bios/kernel options, right? So you can avoid the lockups like me by using the nolapic_timer kernel command-line option or by disabling APIC? Does your laptop use some sort of CPU frequency scaling when in battery mode to power save? I find it surprising that the hard disk should have anything to do with it. Well, I started the Ubuntu 10.10 Live USB flash drive like any other person would, then once the desktop appeared, IT GAVE ME AN OPTION TO REPORT THE BUG so that is what I did. I expected no problems, like every other Ubuntu Live iso since 9.04 but no. So that is why I reported the problem... Plus. Have you noticed how much slower 10.10 is to start from USB or CD?! It is just ridiculous compared to previous versions! That is why I reported this bug. This is incompatible with Thumb-2 and will not be multicore-safe, especially for armv7. These instructions shouldn't be used at all. They were used for OABI only. In EABI, code should be generated to kernel-provided atomics. Also, with the patchset above, this shouldn't be used in v6 or v7 builds at all. 3) The armv6 atomics in src/arch/corelib/qatomic_armv6.h (not currently used because of the behaviour of configure; see (1)) use the new ldrex/strex instructions appropriately, but the required memory barriers for safe operation on multicore platforms are missing. Fixed in Qt 4.8 already: 82b4fff Add support for ARMv7 atomic operations If at all possible, this new header should be ported to use the GCC atomic intrinsics: see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ARM/Thumb2 and http://refspecs.freestandards.org/elf/IA64-SysV-psABI.pdf section 7.4 (Synchronization Primitives) Aside from __sync_lock_release and __sync_lock_test_and_set, all barriers provided by this psABI are full barriers (ordered, in Qt terms). I don't know why Intel didn't define the full set, since that was created for the IA-64, which is one of the few platforms where different barriers are possible. Qt does implement the full set for both IA-64 and ARMv7, so we're not going to switch to __sync_* until they support the full set.
