I'm having this same problem using the 'wl.ko' module for an Asus 1015PN Netbook running Maverick. In order to get SSH working at all, I first have to remove the module altogether. sudo rmmod wl Then I connect via a wired connection and SSH works. If I leave the module inserted and just disconnect. SSH will not work via a wired connection. I've been messing with this for two days now and have made no progress towards a fix or work around. I am attaching my SSH debug info and marking this as confirmed. If any additional info is required, please let me know I and will provide what I can. After extensive troubleshooting, I believe this to be a problem with the driver. I have setup the same version of Ubuntu/SSH on an iBook G4 (using the Broadcom driver) and SSH works fine. That's why two certificates were added. Presently, Pidgin must probably alternate between receiving the old and new certificates and it must do the check by using both the old and new files. In practice, - without the added certificates, Pidgin must wait until whichever certificate it cached appears again - with the added certificates, it always succeeds updating, I must have overcome that a 100 times As all that is only smart guessing the inside of the black box, I thought that the best idea is to watch the cache updating. I think that the code update is another improvement, probably to do without adding certificates as errr... other constructors do. Tested only until the menu screen where usually a background tune is played. - The EsoundD driver behaves erratically. Something like stacking two sounds and then firing them together at the wrong time. As a side note, the 1.3 version produces the effect of changing the backlight setting of my laptop to the minimum after each screen resolution change. further information: so SWAP is not in RAID now. i have read somewhere else, that if swap is in RAID 1 and one of the two harddisks (both with swap) will fail, the system will go down... even with RAID 1. (normally one would thinks the system will keep running because of RAID 1! i can not confirm this, i have just read about it. But if thats true, there is no reason why to put swap in RAID 1. And with the old kernel this 4318 bug clearly got worse when having increased CPU load of any kind, I ran several tests.. @AttilaN : Actually there is a problem recently in my system too where it freezes at seemingly random times, but it's not related to the kernel. [it has occurred in several kernels] Only recently i noticed the following was the last message in ~/.xsession-errors when the system froze: NOTE: child process received `Goodbye', closing down I'm not sure if its related, Might be. So if it freezes for you could you check you xsession-errors. ?
