[Bug 700288] [NEW] amavisd-release not working with quarantine_subdir_levels

2011-01-08 Thread Cyril Jaquier
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: amavisd-new

amavisd-release does not work when quarantine_subdir_levels is set to 1
(and probably more). This is the default in 10.04 LTS:

r...@rand:/etc/amavis/conf.d# grep quarantine_subdir 20-debian_defaults
$quarantine_subdir_levels = 1; # enable quarantine dir hashing

When trying to release an e-mail, it seems that amavisd returns the
wrong path as you can see below:

r...@rand:/etc/amavis/conf.d# find /var/lib/amavis/virusmails/ -name bad*
/var/lib/amavis/virusmails/V/badh-Vzji0yHNymWh
/var/lib/amavis/virusmails/k/badh-k0IqReVcboI3
/var/lib/amavis/virusmails/x/badh-xDEZb5Q+stEv
/var/lib/amavis/virusmails/I/badh-IGjIOydvUwg0
r...@rand:/etc/amavis/conf.d# amavisd-release badh-k0IqReVcboI3
450 4.5.0 Failure: File /var/lib/amavis/virusmails/badh-k0IqReVcboI3 does not
exist at (eval 111) line 385, GEN182 line 5.
r...@rand:/etc/amavis/conf.d#

The subdir ('k' in this case) is not in the path so it seems that
quarantine_subdir_levels is not taken into account in this case.

My amavisd-new version:

ii amavisd-new 1:2.6.4-1ubuntu5 Interface
between MTA and virus scanner/content filters

I don't think this problem has been fixed yet. I'm running Maverick

FYI, here is the output of md5sum /usr/sbin/ntp*. I think these are the
latest packages:

This is a brand new installation. The sequence of steps to reproduce
this are:

1. Install Maverick on a RAID 1 system. Separate / and /home partition.
2. Install Updates
3. Install graphics card hardware driver
4. Download ifenslave. Configure bonding. Set static IP address.

[Bug 700337] [NEW] No documentation for process migration

2011-01-08 Thread klausner
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: migrationtools

Not sure this is even filed against the right package. Current versions
of Ubuntu start multiple instances of a process called migration, but
there is no documentation on it to be found.

The low PIDs of some instances imply a kernel job.

ps for it looks like: root 6 2 0 06:28 ?00:00:00

This is obviously an important process, so where is the man page or
other documentation? Google, apropos, and other searches find nothing.

Sure, every build in launchpad has the logs avaliable in the
corresponding builds section [0], and it sould have being with the
last natty versions as the build process takes them at the beginning
(see the logs). I have made those builds also in my own computer and
with the same build tools it crashes without the patch and works with
it.

[Bug 672244] Re: PDF text is blanked when backwards selected

2011-01-08 Thread gpk
Here's a PDF document that does the trick that I can release.

If you go left-button-down nearly anywhere, and sweep towards the upper
left, you will see text that is to the upper right of your trajectory
disappear.

[Bug 700236] [NEW] user and account application passwd crashes

2011-01-08 Thread billhuey
Public bug reported:

In a fresh installation of Ubuntu 10.10 certain inputs for the changing
the password from the administrative tools result in a premature
termination of the spawned passwd program that's forked to handle the
change.

It seems to trigger on certain input cases. It might be the case that
'passwd' is rejecting a change and the controlling script is failing to
handle the error condition.

2011-01-08 Thread billhuey
Public bug reported:

In a fresh installation of 10.10 automatic login to the default user
fails with the system hanging.

The only way to get around this is to have the user's automatic login

** Description changed:

On my AS Rock Nettop ION 330 (not the HT version which seems to have a
slightly different chipset), there is no sound via HDMI. All channels
are unmuted, HDMI cable and TV are both proven to be working with
another device running Ubuntu. There's no sound in Media player and the
speaker-test command as well as the speaker test in the Sound applet
in preferences make no noise, even if the TV's sound is at Max. The TV
  is a Sony Bravia KDL-32EX402.

This bug also appears in Ubuntu 8.04 (installed), Ubuntu 10.04 (Live

[Bug 700249] [NEW] Celestia does not load addons

2011-01-08 Thread daniele80
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: celestia

I'm using Celestia on Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS.

the addons from http://www.celestiamotherlode.net/ don't work.

Steps to reproduce this bug:
1) download this addon
http://www.celestiamotherlode.net/catalog/show_addon_details.php?addon_id=864
2) extract the folder mars_m46_dds_vt and copy it to
/usr/share/celestia/extras/
3) start celestia and go to Mars. You won't get the option for the additional
texture.
On Windows the same addon works fine.

You get the bug with *all* the addons which contain a folder that must be
copied to extras folder (test these:
http://www.celestiamotherlode.net/catalog/show_addon_details.php?addon_id=1219
http://www.celestiamotherlode.net/catalog/show_addon_details.php?addon_id=1235).
It seems like that Celestia does not look into addon folders.

My Lucid system I possible logging in with following way if I not want choosing
another username:
When the GDM login screen is presented the screen, I enough press an Enter key,
writing my password and pressing Enter key again.

In Natty (and iI think Maverick too) happening following:
When the GDM login screen is presenting the screen, if I press Enter key,
nothing happening. I need press a Down arrow key if I would like logging in the
first awailable username (my always using username because one user have my
system).
If I press for example an Alt+Tab key combination, the first username is
selected and my prewious wrote login method works.

Perhaps the GDM login screen is not focused, or the user chooser list the first
username is not selected automaticaly when GDM login screen is presented the
screen.
I using GDM accessible login feature with screen reader support, and I using
Orca Screen Reader.

[Bug 595661] Re: please support h264 hardware acceleration on certain intel video cards

2011-01-08 Thread Vladimir Yakovlev
I build some packages for maverick:
- xserver-xorg-video-intel-2.13.0 - from natty
- libdrm2_2.4.22 - from natty
- libva-1.0.5 - intel upstream package
and get H.264 work on Intel GMA HD (Intel Core i5)

#vainfo

libva: libva version 0.31.1
libva: va_getDriverName() returns 0
libva: Trying to open /usr/lib/dri/i965_drv_video.so
libva: va_openDriver() returns 0
vainfo: VA API version: 0.31
vainfo: Driver version: i965 Driver 0.1
vainfo: Supported profile and entrypoints
VAProfileMPEG2Simple : VAEntrypointVLD
VAProfileMPEG2Main : VAEntrypointVLD
VAProfileH264Baseline : VAEntrypointVLD
VAProfileH264Main : VAEntrypointVLD
VAProfileH264High : VAEntrypointVLD

To get H.264 in natty you need only libva-1.0.5 (now 1.0.2).

[Bug 700257] [NEW] Banshee does not import songs without extension

2011-01-08 Thread Omer Akram
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: banshee

In Natty we moved to Banshee from rhythmbox. Rhythmbox syncs songs from
portable devices without any extension (atleast for ipod shuffle) when
you import those songs in Banshee they are not added. I opened a bug
upstream which turned out be a duplicate of an already 'wontfix' bug. I
believe we need to fix this issue since many of our users would have
imported songs from rhythmbox to their systems and when they wont be
able to play those songs with the new default Music player that wont be
good.

[Bug 649294] Re: When speed limit is set, Speed reported in the status bar is mostly wrong

2011-01-08 Thread jordan
Transmission reports on all the bytes that are written into the sockets'
write buffers, and that are read from their read buffers.

If someone knows how to monitor the bytes as they arrive and as they are
sent -- thus ignoring the noise added to the process by the buffers -- I
would be happy to listen.

[Bug 692905] Re: unity is broken in multihead configuration

2011-01-08 Thread Barry Drake
After the latest updates this morning, the gnome desktop seemed a lot
more responsive and some of the tiny niggles such as dropdown menus
taking ages before they would work had gone. Unity would not work at
all, and starting with the unity desktop gave a whole lot of things that
failed to start beginning with the wastebasket. Clicking on re-try put
these as menuitems or icons in the gnome desktop.

I decided to re-install as a clean installation and go through the
upgrade/update process. On first installing, Unity worked. After the
updates had completed, unity would not start and I was left with the
gnome desktop with the error messages as above. Attempts to start Unity
from the terminal give the attached output, and Unity works, but is
somewhat broken; ie no gnome menus, or only some. Switching to the
gnome desktop as default now gives a workable system again.

** Attachment added: Output from terminal on trying to start unity manually
