For me it doesn't seems to be the by Kip Warner mentioned bug in gvfs. I
updated the gvfs-packages from the natty-repository (I'm currently
working with maverick) where gvfs has version 1.7... (above the
mentioned 1.6-1) but my problem persists. :-(

I still don't think it is the hard drive because a) it is a pretty new
intel SSD drive (less than one year), b) I am not getting any other
errors outside of kvm (fscks are clean, not file corruption, nothing in
kern.log) and c) rebooting into the maverick kernel does not exhibit
this problem.

I think there is a bug in upstart here, as start shouldn't hang forever.
It should error out pretty early actually. This seems to be a problem
with post-start and respawn handling.

I have put everything in the fstab. In Gnome if you go to Places you see
the mount point, but if you decide to go there it says Unable to mount
test2 (which is my mount point for the cifs). If I manually mount it,

Yes I confirm it did fail. I am using the Virtual Machine Manager and
when I enable the network it gives me the message I posted earlier.
When I sun it at the command line, (after updating my libvirt deb today
from your ppa) I get:

I'm using inkscape as the basis of a level editor for a 2d indie game
and hit this problem.
I was really confused why everything was upside down... took me a couple
hours to figure out what was goin on (i thought it was my projection
matrix or a left handed vs right handed coordinate system at

for doing kernel stable updates

teething problem for that process.

password window even appeared (or when I click cancel or enter a wrong
