[Bug 731976] Re: SAMBA - Can't access Windows 7 computer via SAMBA
Hi guys, I know what i'm about to say will sound down-right strange, but my ubuntu 10.10 server (dist-upgrade from 10.04), the samba server worked flawless. But now, I installed Ubuntu 10.10 desktop, and Samba 3.5.4 is giving me the exact same issues. No matter what username/password I type in, samba will reject the Windows 7 client. I've been searching forums for the last week, and no solution has proven itself. I even disabled Send LM NTLM responses Minimum session security for NTLM SSP Disable Require 128-bit encryption, which proved useful for many people, as well as specifying the SMB ports to 445. Yet I never had to do this with the server-samba. The samba log is riddled with errors such as these: [2011/03/21 09:26:33.584441, 0] lib/util_sock.c:1441(get_peer_addr_internal) getpeername failed. Error was Transport endpoint is not connected read_fd_with_timeout: client 0.0.0.0 read error = Connection reset by peer. [2011/03/20 17:58:59.403390, 1] smbd/service.c:678(make_connection_snum) create_connection_server_info failed: NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED I can 100% confirm, that the logon user, is correct, and password is correct. The one strange thing I have noticed, that by default, connecting to the linux box, or any other machine for that matter, would normall allow you to see all the shares first, such as printers, etc. Then only when you go into the folders, it would ask you for your credentials. What's happening now, is that it asked for credentials immediately, the only credentials that seem to work was root, but then to access the folders, no credentials worked, even after I added root to those directory permissions. I tried the credentials on a XP machine, I could log onto the machine (see all shared items), but couldn't access any folders. config: http://pastebin.com/L5FiCaVg Let me know if you guys need the complete log files or more config files. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to samba in ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/731976 Title: SAMBA - Can't access Windows 7 computer via SAMBA -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 739297] [NEW] Please update nmap: stable upstream version is 5.51
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nmap As announced here: http://seclists.org/nmap-dev/2011/q1/518 Nmap 5.51 Released From: Fyodor fyodor () insecure org Date: Fri, 11 Feb 2011 16:18:35 -0800 Hi folks! I'm happy to report that Nmap 5.50 has been a huge success, with nearly 300,000 downloads in the two weeks it has been available! That much attention inevitably uncovers some bugs, so I'm pleased to release 5.51 to address them. Most of the bugs are pretty minor. Nmap 5.51 source code as well as binary packages for Linux, Mac, and Windows are now available at: http://nmap.org/download.html If you find any bugs, please let us know on nmap-dev as described at http://nmap.org/book/man-bugs.html. We're not planning another stable release in the near term, but you can inspire one by finding a big enough bug :). Here is the list of changes in 5.51: o [Ndiff] Added support for prerule and postrule scripts. [David] o [NSE] Fixed a bug which caused some NSE scripts to fail due to the absence of the NSE SCRIPT_NAME environment variable when loaded. Michael Pattrick reported the problem. [Djalal] o [Zenmap] Selecting one of the scan targets in the left pane is supposed to jump to that host in the Nmap Output in the right pane (but it wasn't). Brian Krebs reported this bug. [David] o Fixed an obscure bug in Windows interface matching. If the MAC address of an interface couldn't be retrieved, it might have been used instead of the correct interface. Alexander Khodyrev reported the problem. [David] o [NSE] Fixed portrules in dns-zone-transfer and ftp-proftpd-backdoor that used shortport functions incorrectly and always returned true. [Jost Krieger] o [Ndiff] Fixed ndiff.dtd to include two elements that can be diffed: status and address. [Daniel Miller] o [Ndiff] Fixed the ordering of hostscript-related elements in XML output. [Daniel Miller] o [NSE] Fixed a bug in the nrpe-enum script that would make it run for every port (when it was selected--it isn't by default). Daniel Miller reported the bug. [Patrick] o [NSE] When an NSE script sets a negative socket timeout, it now causes a controlled Lua stack trace instead of a fatal error. Vlatko Kosturjak reported the bug. [David] o [Zenmap] Worked around an error that caused the py2app bootstrap executable to be non-universal even when the rest of the application was universal. This prevented the binary .dmg from working on PowerPC. Yxynaxen reported the problem. [David] o [Ndiff] Fixed an output line that wasn't being redirected to a file when all other output was. [Daniel Miller] Enjoy the new release! -Fyodor ** Affects: nmap (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to nmap in ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/739297 Title: Please update nmap: stable upstream version is 5.51 -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 738968] [NEW] Can't See Parts of DFS CIFS Share
You have been subscribed to a public bug: Binary package hint: gvfs When connecting to a DFS share using Nautilus on Ubuntu 10.04, I can only see part of the directory tree. Take the example of a share with a DFS root at X, and sub directories A, B, and C all on different servers. I can connect to X, and see A, B, and C, but directories A, B, and C are all shown as empty. If I directly connect to X/A, then I can see the files and directories in and below A. Using smbclient directly from the command line gives the same behaviour. I found this from several years ago: http://lists.samba.org/archive /samba-technical/2007-April/052725.html. It seems to exactly describe my issue, and suggests that it's because when you cross to another server in the DFS hierarchy, smbclient re-authenticates (as it's supposed to) but with the wrong credentials. [Bug 739495] Re: include in .ssh/config
It seems like this is a bug that has already been reported to the developers of openSSH. Please consider commenting in the upstream bug (https://bugzilla.mindrot.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1585) and proposing your patch, possibly integrating some of the work in the draft patch that is already included there. Looks like there are some extra changes too, so that might need to be cleaned up. ** Bug watch added: OpenSSH Portable Bugzilla #1585 https://bugzilla.mindrot.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1585 ** Also affects: openssh via https://bugzilla.mindrot.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1585 Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown ** Changed in: openssh (Ubuntu) Status: New = Confirmed ** Changed in: openssh (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = Wishlist -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to openssh in ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/739495 Title: include in .ssh/config -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 731976] Re: SAMBA - Can't access Windows 7 computer via SAMBA
I tested the issue with SMBNETFS and FUSESMB and it still happens... ** Tags added: apport-collected ** Description changed: Binary package hint: samba Hello, I have 4 computers in my home (mine is not included), being 2 of them Windows 7 Ultimate and 1 of them Windows XP Professional and the other one a Windows 7 Home Premium... PROBLEM: I can access with my LINUX (Ubuntu 10.10 and Kubuntu 10.10) via SAMBA the 3 computers in my home, but the other one (that is Windows 7 Ultimate) I can't, and I don't know why... The message that shows when I try to access this PC is: Cannot connect to the pc CONCE-CPU. IMPORTANT: I also have a Windows 7 Ultimate in my PC (I do a DUAL-BOOT with Windows 7 and Linux Ubuntu) that can access this computer and all of the others as well... So, the problem is not in the remote PC and not in my machine, it's a LINUX specific problem... DETAILS: My LINUX: Linux kernel 2.6.35-27-generic-pae; Ubuntu/Kubuntu 10.10 ; using most up-to-date SAMBA ; The Problematic Remote PC: Windows 7 Ultimate; Up-to-date (without SP1 of Windows 7); with AVAST (FREE - WITHOUT FIREWALL) and built-in Windows FIREWALL ENABLED; -- PS: I have a Windows XP Professional at home that also have AVAST and this SAMBA problem don't happen with it... PS²: I can ping the problematic remote PC (with Windows 7 Ultimate) with my LINUX if I use the IP of this problematic remote PC with the command ping IP-OF-THE-REMOTE-PC (if I use the host name - that is CONCE-CPU - instead of the IP, it don't answer to the ping because it shows the error message ping: unknown host conce-cpu - the command syntax used was ping CONCE-CPU)... [Bug 737829] Re: Evolution se cierra cada vez que cierro un mail
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a .crash file. Please follow these instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer. If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport in /etc/default/apport and restart. Now open your file manager, navigate to your /var/crash directory and open the crash report you wish to submit. If this fails you will have to open a terminal and file your report with 'ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash' where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report. By CurrentDmesg.txt, the warning is happening after resume from suspend, and because tracing is enabled, see commit 5e38ca8 which seems to point to same problem (tracing: Add unstable sched clock note to the warning). That commit got reverted by another issue, but with/without it the warning continues to trigger, but could be ignored in this case. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/738944 Title: WARNING: at /build/buildd/linux-2.6.38/kernel/trace/ring_buffer.c:2169 rb_reserve_next_event+0x209/0x230() after resume from suspend -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 739541] [NEW] Tomboy error: DoHighlight: null pointer error for ...
