[Bug 970782] [NEW] Please merge new upstream dovecot version 2.0.18-1
Public bug reported: Hi, I think it would be great to have latest Debian testing release of dovecot (if not the last upstream one, which is 2.0.18), because of important bug fixes: Last upstream release only : v2.0.19 2012-03-15 Timo Sirainen t...@iki.fi - IMAP: ENABLE CONDSTORE/QRESYNC + STATUS for a mailbox might not have seen latest external changes to it, like new mails. - imap_id_* settings were ignored before login. - doveadm altmove did too much work sometimes, retrying moves it had already done. - mbox: Fixed accessing Dovecot v1.x mbox index files without errors. Last Debian testing release: v2.0.18 2012-02-12 Timo Sirainen t...@iki.fi + DIGEST-MD5 authentication supports authorization id now. Patch by Yubao Liu + Added instance_name setting which is used to prefix Dovecot processes in ps output. - LDA/LMTP: Sending a large mail via submission_host or via LMTP proxy may have caused a hang. - Fixed dbox + mail_attachment_dir + zlib problems. - Login processes weren't logging all intended messages with auth_verbose=yes - IMAP: THREAD REFS sometimes returned invalid (0) nodes. - IMAP: CONTEXT search return option wasn't handled at all. - dbox: Various error handling fixes. - snarf plugin: Keep the mailbox locked during snarfing to avoid duplicates. v2.0.17 2012-01-06 Timo Sirainen t...@iki.fi + Proxying now supports sending SSL client certificate to server with ssl_client_cert/key settings. + doveadm dump: Added support for dumping dbox headers/metadata. - Fixed memory leaks in login processes with SSL connections - vpopmail support was broken in v2.0.16 v2.0.16 2011-11-17 Timo Sirainen t...@iki.fi * VSZ limits weren't being enforced for any processes. On server with large mailboxes you may now see errors about it if the limits aren't high enough. To fix them, either increase individual service { vsz_limit } values or simply increase the default_vsz_limit setting. * Proxying: If using ssl=yes or starttls=yes with a hostname (not IP) as proxy destination, require that the certificate matches the given hostname. * LMTP: Changed default client_limit to 1. This should improve LMTP throughput with default settings. * dsync: Quota is no longer enforced (i.e. dsync can't fail because user is over quota). + Added auto mail storage driver, which can be used to autodetect mailbox location and format. This behavior is already the default for empty mail_location setting, so this change is mainly useful for shared namespace's location setting. + checkpassword: Export all auth %variables to AUTH_* environment. We have two choices: Import latest upstream release (with latest fixes) or latest Debian release. But in both cases, we should resynchronise pigeonhole patches with Debian in order to have latest pigeonhole fixes too. [Bug 970921] [NEW] Postfix 2.9.1 Crashing with Signal 6 - Postfix 2.8.5-2 works perfectly
Public bug reported: Just upgraded from 11.10 to 12.04 and sadly noticed that Postfix 2.9.1 breaks my virtual mail setup. It worked perfectly in 11.10. My setup is using courier and postfix with mysql, Saslauthdm (for auth) and amavis (which I disabled for bug researching). Postfix refuses any action, sending and receiving, in 12.04 with the following log: postfix/master[19710]: warning: process /usr/lib/postfix/cleanup pid 19734 killed by signal 6 I have not found any information how to fix this, so i thought I better report it before 12.04 is out. The interesting thing is that if a install postfix 2.8.5-1 from oneiric everything works again, so this has to be a bug according to postfix 2.9.1. ** Affects: postfix (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: mysql postfix sasl -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to postfix in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/970921 Title: Postfix 2.9.1 Crashing with Signal 6 - Postfix 2.8.5-2 works perfectly To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/postfix/+bug/970921/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 877852] Re: samba failed to install when updating from ubuntu 11.04 to 11.10
Hello Robin, That error message sounds ominous but should not a problem. It relates to one small part of the system. If the update had finished, and you can still boot and log in, then I would go into the Software Center and type in the name samba, install it, and be done with it. If the update did not finish, and there are some stability issues with logging in, then I would re-install Ubuntu, but I would make certain to choose the right installation option. You want the one that preserves all your data but refreshes the system and the programs. You do not want the one that wipes out the hard drive and starts from scratch. For what it's worth, the next version of Ubuntu/Kubuntu is coming out this month and has many stability improvements. I'm actually running the beta version of Kubuntu 12.04 and it's running great. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to samba in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/877852 Title: samba failed to install when updating from ubuntu 11.04 to 11.10 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/samba/+bug/877852/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 971248] [NEW] pam_ldap passwd entry when using kerberos
Public bug reported: I have both libpam-ldap and libpam-krb5 installed because I am using Kerberos for authentication here. The implication is that I am not using passwords in ldap. When I try to change my password I get this in the auth.log: Apr 1 23:21:30 foo passwd[4927]: pam_unix(passwd:chauthtok): user brian does not exist in /etc/passwd Apr 1 23:21:38 foo passwd[4927]: pam_krb5(passwd:chauthtok): user brian changed Kerberos password Apr 1 23:21:38 foo passwd[4927]: pam_unix(passwd:chauthtok): user brian does not exist in /etc/passwd Apr 1 23:21:38 foo passwd[4927]: pam_ldap: ldap_modify_s Insufficient access The tty where I changed my password shows: $ passwd Current Kerberos password: Enter new Kerberos password: Retype new Kerberos password: LDAP password information update failed: Insufficient access passwd: Permission denied passwd: password unchanged Presumably this is all because PAM is trying to manipulate passwords in LDAP but they just don't/shouldn't exist there. [Bug 970599] [NEW] Screen keeps flickering after executing SuperTuxKart
Public bug reported: After installing and executing SuperTuxKart, the screen has been flickering. I tried to take a screenshot, but the screenshot does not show the flickering. The screen looks [not exactly] like this [http://img193.imageshack.us/img193/7199/imag0031yt.jpg] (Image not taken by me) I did the following: 1) Install SuperTuxKart from the Software Center 2) Run STK from Unity Launcher 4) STK Window appeared without any image (Just the window borders) 4b) At the same time as 4, the image surrounding the STK windows starts flickering. 5) Kill X 6) Login again 7) Whole screen is flickering. Specially when I open the Dash. While typing this I notice that the screen flickers when I change Windows. For example, when I use Alt+Tab to move from Firefox to another app, or to display the desktop. Or when I open the Dash. [Bug 963585] Re: Unity 5.8: computer is crashing 1-2 minutes after logged into Unity
I have more information to update on this ticket. This issue happens both with the fglrx drivers as well as the Radeon drivers. The computer will freeze when doing seemingly 'random' graphical things as stated above, but will consistantly freeze immediately when trying to rearrange the screens in the displays tab, as well as if you click the revert to previous configuration if you change any option in the displays tab. This issue ONLY happens on my Cayman card (Radeon HD 6950), and not on my HD 4200 series in my laptop. I believe this issue with consistant desktop freezing and crashing to be attributed to the Cayman graphics card and potentially the xorg server. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/963585 Title: Unity 5.8: computer is crashing 1-2 minutes after logged into Unity To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity/+bug/963585/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I have to say it works really well - I even get desktop effects in KDE with Gallium. However, there is one problem with screen brightness. The max_brightness value for the backlight interface (/sys/class/backlight/nv_backlight/max_brightness) is set to 1025. When I use KDE power-devil (or any brightness control tool), it reduces the brightness by tiny fractions, which still keeps the screen at full brightness. The brightness actually varies only between 0 and 127 (128-1025 are full brightness), and then too only if I change it in increments of 10 or 20. I think ideally the max_brightness value should be 7 (or 10?) and it should vary in steps of 1.
