[Bug 980787] [NEW] openstack-dashboard breaks with option DEBUG =False in config file

2012-04-14 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

I have a running setup of horizon working. I have also installed memcached and
python-memcache
ii openstack-dashbo 2012.1-0ubuntu2 django web interface to Openstack

When i do DEBUG = False
in my /etc/openstack-dashboard/local_settings.py css breaks. Image and
scripts does not load.

i also have
CACHE_BACKEND = 'memcached://127.0.0.1:11211/'
in my /etc/openstack-dashboard/local_settings.py file.

The only solution for this to work smoothly is to keep
DEBUG = True

[Bug 880339] Re: AppArmor profile needs update

2012-04-14 Thread Ted Cabeen
I'm getting this in precise as well. Here's the output from kern.log:

Apr 13 23:01:16 order kernel: [1654002.272316] type=1400
audit(1334383276.781:120): apparmor=DENIED operation=mknod parent=1

comm=mysqld requested_mask=c denied_mask=c fsuid=112 ouid=112

I can give you more if you want, but that line repeats with timestamp
changes a bunch.

[Bug 850264] Re: given a foreign architecture of i386 on amd64 machine, and an outdated libc, apt tries to remove libc-bin

2012-04-14 Thread Steve Langasek
Jean-Louis, thanks for preparing this patch. Unfortunately, before
uploading it, I wanted to run the integration tests (test-multiarch-
foreign) to make sure the bug is actually fixed; and it doesn't appear
that it is:

Test for equality of apt-get install cool-bar:i386 -s …
 Reading package lists...
 Building dependency tree...
The following extra packages will be installed:
- bar
+ bar:i386
The following NEW packages will be installed:
- bar cool-bar:i386
+ bar:i386 cool-bar:i386
0 upgraded, 2 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
-Inst bar (1.0 Testcases:unstable [amd64])
+Inst bar:i386 (1.0 Testcases:unstable [i386])
 Inst cool-bar:i386 (1.0 Testcases:unstable [i386])
-Conf bar (1.0 Testcases:unstable [amd64])
+Conf bar:i386 (1.0 Testcases:unstable [i386])
 Conf cool-bar:i386 (1.0 Testcases:unstable [i386])
FAIL

This clearly shows dependencies being followed as i386 packages on
amd64; so something seems to be missing here.

Attached is the test-multiarch-foreign that I've ported back to the
oneiric version of apt, for reference.

[Bug 980549] Re: German translation: grammar mistake while copying files

2012-04-14 Thread Dennis Baudys

there is a problem. When I researched it, I also found two other very similar
German translation bugs. So to be complete, here are all three …)

There are three translation bugs in German language of Nautilus. I can't
find the strings 239, 240 and 241 right now in Vertimus but they were
visible in Launchpad [1] [2] [3] (where I JUST corrected them like shown
below!). Please see also GNOME Vertimus bug #674093 [0].

Thanks for reporting this, Kalsan.

[Bug 980234] Re: Gourmet package does not use vector icon

2012-04-14 Thread Steve Langasek
The gourmet source tree contains an SVG icon as images/gourmet.svg.

No, it doesn't?

tar ztvf ~/ubuntu/pool/universe/g/gourmet/gourmet_0.15.9.orig.tar.gz
|grep svg

I also don't see any issue with the appearance of the icon in Unity-2D;
the icon looks just the right size here. (It's 48x48, for the record)

[Bug 981384] [NEW] Unexpected behavior when maximizing from tiled

2012-04-14 Thread xvalentinex
Public bug reported:

When a window is tiled, clicking the maximize button causes the window
to restore as though the window was maximized.

Expected behavior would be to have the window maximize.

Some windows behave poorly. When clicking the maximize button on a
tiled Firefox window, the Firefox windows title bar expands beneath the
top panel, hiding the buttons and title bar. This makes it hard to
access the window controls and to move the window itself. You have to
hold down alt to drag the window, then you can maximize.

[Bug 955601] Re: flash problem in aurora after update, installing adobe flash intaller will remove firefox

2012-04-14 Thread Juan-e
The bug is back again: I just have the same problem with Aurora: firefox
(13.0~a2~hg20120411r90716-0ubuntu1~umd2~natty) and flashplugin-installer
(11.2.202.228ubuntu0.11.04.1). After I looked for a real solution, I had
to try to restore the Flash Plugin without packages, following the
official instructions https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/installing-
flash . I hope that this bug will have a real fix.

At least with aptitude, after the install failure, the package remains
in a to be installed state, which means all further install/updates
will end with a failure status because of this package. (Thankfully,
other packages still install successfully, but the overall state of the
install/upgrade process is that of a crash.) Using the - key to
remove digikam-doc clears the problem.

Regression. Happens for me too on Precise without any user interaction
on a regular basis. I refiled Bug #981391 hoping this does generate

[Bug 958120] Re: MySQL does not start with utf8 options

2012-04-14 Thread Michael Ludwig
To me this one is cleared. It was a wrong collation in the database.
Deleting the user, it's db and recreating it solved the problem. I took
these settings in my.cnf:

init_connect='SET collation_connection = utf8_general_ci'
init_connect='SET NAMES utf8'
character-set-server=utf8
collation-server=utf8_general_ci
skip-character-set-client-handshake

[Bug 202391] Re: Cannot view AVM2 flash enabled pages

2012-04-14 Thread mhotze
Because of the fallback issues, people might be looking for a solution
here to play all Flash content in Ubuntu Firefox (I did):

1) Open Ubuntu Software Center (or Synaptic) , search for ¨Flash¨
2) Remove all Flash related software (Gnash SWF Viewer, Lightspark, Adobe Flash
Plugin, etc)
3) Only install ¨Adobe Flash Plugin¨
4) Restart Firefox

[Bug 981049] Re: LTSP needs a non-intrusive method to set a default session

2012-04-14 Thread Alkis Georgopoulos
I think the problem is that Unity doesn't have
  Provides: x-session-manager
and thus it breaks the update-alternatives system concept.

$ apt-cache show gnome-session | grep Provides
Provides: gnome3-session, x-session-manager

$ sudo update-alternatives --config x-session-manager
There are 2 choices for the alternative x-session-manager (providing
/usr/bin/x-session-manager).

  SelectionPath Προτε Status

* 0/usr/bin/gnome-session 50auto mode
  1/usr/bin/gnome-session 50manual mode
  2/usr/bin/openbox-session 40manual mode

No Unity session there. No, gnome-session isn't enough, since Ubuntu provides a
completely different shell than upstream Gnome, it should list it as a separate
session.

[Bug 973644] Re: hangs on shutdown

2012-04-14 Thread shinyblue
I have now tested without fglrx-updates and can confirm that (on the one
test I've done), this problem does not occur with the OS ATI/Radeon
driver installed.

Is the best thing to do to move this data over to fglrx(-updates)?

[Bug 981406] [NEW] Bottom part of Shotwell window missing

2012-04-14 Thread shane
Public bug reported:

Ubuntu 12.04 fully up-to-date.

Shotwell version: 0.12.2-0ubuntu2, installed by default, not from PPA

When opening Shotwell maximized, the bottom area of the window, just below the
photo/preview area is missing.
The status bar itself is not there which also extends the full width of the
window so the photo information sidebar section is also cut off at the bottom.

I have attached a screenshot highlighting the exact problem.

This ONLY occurs when the window is maximized and when using compiz-based Unity
3D.
If I un-maximize the window, it appears fully and normally. If I close the
window then open it in it's un-maximized state, it opens normally.
Also, if I launch Shotwell maximized in Unity 2D, it displays normally.

[Bug 949271] Re: Netbeans menu is not readable

2012-04-14 Thread Erki Hallingu
Java swing demo application has the same issue when choosing GTK+ look.
Workaround is to launch netbeans (or java swing demo) with command line
option: netbeans --laf Metal. This way it will look ugly and does not
blend well with overall desktop but at least menu is readable.

I use compiled RT3090 driver from Ralink for WiFi to work at full speed.
Except that the .deb packaged driver from Markus Heberling on Launchpad
(rt3090-dkms_2.3.1.3-0ubuntu0~ppa1_all.deb) does not seem to work anymore, I
have had no problems with WiFi after upgrading to Precise Beta2. (lots of other
problems, like no suspend and can't shut down).

Are there two different Hardware revisions of the Ideapad s205 ?
I have:
Bios Version 4BCN24WW

[Bug 981416] [NEW] Passthrough via SPDIF stopped working

2012-04-14 Thread Ken Norris
Public bug reported:

Description:Ubuntu 11.10
Release:11.10
NVidia HDA ALC1200 optical SPDIF digital output.
Both DTS and AC3 worked well for months after early, unknown problems getting
AC3 through. Upgraded various packages, including Mythtv to 0.25, before this
latest problem.
PCM works via the SPDIF optical cable.
Attempts to play DTS 5.1 audio results in a 'Dolby Digital 3/2' display on the
receiver and no sound. Choosing the PCM option from the same file plays in
stereo okay. AC3 audio defaults to PCM (I think).
The NVidia HDA ALC1200 seems no longer to have a digital 5.1 option when viewed
with Pulse audio volume control but shows correctly in Mythtv and aplay -L.

The receiver (Sony STR-DE835) decodes DTS and AC3 fine from a stand-
alone DVD player via a coaxial cable.

I'm well out of my depth here. I apologise if this is a settings
mistake.
