(i'm writing this post offline. second day) so i thought let's try good old `kill -9` and what i discovered - killing lightdm doesn't do anything besides hanging the pc, but killing Xorg (in pts hangs, in tty restarts gui interface in pts) and both ways killing Xorg creates the file! -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/984785 Title: .goutputstream files polluting $HOME To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/lightdm/+bug/984785/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 998309] Re: remove vim-tiny will remove ubuntu-minimal
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 100029 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/100029 (1) This is not a "bug," per sé; vim-tiny is a dependency of ubuntu- minimal, so it makes sense that APT would want to remove ubuntu-minimal if you removed vim-tiny. (2) Now that we've established that this isn't a bug, in the past, it has been requested, namely in Bug #100029, that vim-tiny be removed from ubuntu-minimal's dependencies, but it was marked as "Won't Fix." Thus, I will mark this as a duplicate of that bug, as this bug seems to imply as well that vim-tiny should not be a dependency of ubuntu-minimal. Please note, however, the related Bug #908132, which recommends that ubuntu- minimal depend on a meta package rather than vim-tiny. [Bug 559163] Re: Dell Latitude D600 hangs on wakeup from suspend
The two things that absolutely worked for me on the Dell Latitude D600 were : 1) Setting the primary password in Bios (I'm running version A16) 2) Modifying the GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX setting in /etc/default/grub as follows: GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="radeon.modeset=0" Nothing else worked. Since I'd prefer not to have a primary password, (it's a useless feature), I went with the second solution. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/559163 Title: Dell Latitude D600 hangs on wakeup from suspend To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/559163/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 957298] Re: Mouse is very slow after starting a session on Precise
I tried adding the lines in #2 to a xorg.conf file but it didn't seem to help for my ThinkPad X200. The mouse is barely usable and I see high cpu usage for kworker in top. It happens every time I use my laptop, but usually not for the first few minutes, so if there is a good way to debug kworker issues I could probably help track down the problem. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/957298 Title: Mouse is very slow after starting a session on Precise To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/957298/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 786191] Re: window menu doesn't open with decorations turned off
Experimenting with bug 1002602, I found a workaround for this. If you don't need the decoation bar: Set "Decoration Windows" to "none" Leave other settings as they are. The window menu (alt+right click or space) will be available. Windows will also have shadows for borders. If you don't need shadows or any kind of border: Adjust the settings for "Active/Inactive Shadow" Leave "Shadow windows" set to "any" Without this, the decorator will not run, ergo no window menu. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/786191 Title: window menu doesn't open with decorations turned off To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/compiz/+bug/786191/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
