[Bug 1038044] Re: munin-node: apt_all does not Grok Ubuntu (possible regression)
Standby. In leaving this running overnight, it throws errors (or at least warnings) if all categories are not actually enabled - as it turns out, I haven't enabled -proposed on my firewalls. I need to rethink the release determination mechanism slightly to account for this. One more iteration of the patch, I think, will be needed - I should get the fix in today, and I will let it run overnight to make sure there are no unpleasant surprises. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to munin in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1038044 Title: munin-node: apt_all does not Grok Ubuntu (possible regression) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/munin/+bug/1038044/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 1038044] Re: munin-node: apt_all does not Grok Ubuntu (possible regression)
I have installed this on my test systems (mixture of Debian and Ubuntu), and will post after this has run a few hours. There should be no unexpected cron spam. If there isn't, I would request that the patch be reviewed again and considered for inclusion in Ubuntu. Clearly the fix part of this needs to get into Ubuntu; I would kind of like for this to go upstream as well, definitely to Debian and if possible to the main munin project. When (if?) the patch is adopted in Ubuntu I will submit it to munin. I know there are other apt-based distributions; what upstream wants may be different.

[Bug 1034454] Re: 12.04 Dist-upgrade breaks PHP extensions pdo_mysql.so symbols
@clint Thanks- you're quite right! I don't know why I would have done that, now to find out what's broken with the 'downgrade' of PHP. Know anything popular that would have required building PHP 5.4 from source? Guess I'll have to keep an eye on the logs, lame! Moved the /usr/local/bin/php to /usr/local/bin/php.old. [Bug 790118] Re: chromium (and also chrome) crashes sometimes (segfault at bbadbeef)
For the past 5-6 weeks whenever I used Chrome my computer crashed. Sometimes everything, mouse, keyboard, programs, just froze but it can also show a screenful of text describing various processes that led to the point of no return. the word 'Panic'is the one that catches my attention. To judge by all the references to similar symptoms that I've encountered on the net ,it appears that this is a fairly widespread and long standing problem. I would be happy if I could find some way to uninstall Chrome. It is'nt in Software Centre so I tried the 'sudo apt- get autouninstall google-chrome'alternative. Alas, I'm still stuck with it. [Bug 861171] Re: Shutdown from greeter does nothing when multiple accounts open
@Matthew, At least bug #86 seems to have the same core problem. I've published a workaround in bug #86 that i'm going to copy here, and fix this bug (#861171) and bug #86. I think the problem is only related to PolicyKit, because this doesn't handle correctly the 'auth_admin_keep' directive. When an admin user try to halt/restart the system, this directive may ask for admin password an allow only to admin users to halt/restart the system. The workaround goes through modify the 'auth_admin_keep' to 'yes', which allow to any user (admin o desktop user) to halt/restart the system. This is not a full solution, but may be a step forward. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/861171 Title: Shutdown from greeter does nothing when multiple accounts open To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/indicator-session/+bug/861171/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 861171] Re: Shutdown from greeter does nothing when multiple accounts open
Workaround: As I've commented previously, this partial solution is to modify this file: /usr/share/polkit-1/actions/org.freedesktop.consolekit.policy and change: auth_admin_keep to: yes Edit the file /usr/share/polkit-1/actions/org.freedesktop.consolekit.policy using your favorite text editor. [Bug 861171] Re: Shutdown from greeter does nothing when multiple accounts open
I see this bug has triaged a lot of packages/apps. [Bug 1038590] [NEW] Nautilus does not work with SMB Samba shares
Public bug reported: Ubuntu 12.04 Confirmed on 2 machines. Server: Apple Time Capsule, fw 7.6.1 The Time Capsule is listed by twice by name in the browse network (one for AFP and I guess the other one is SMB). When connecting to the AFP share, it asks for the u/p then lists the shares. When clicking the SMB part, it shows empty list, like there were no shares (does NOT ask for password). When connecting manually to the IP address of the Time Machine (smb://10.0.0.1), it will keep asking for the password, saying auth is unsuccessful. When connecting to a specific share by IP (smb://10.0.0.1/Data), it lists the entries correctly but cannot copy directories, only files from it (eg: there is a directory called DIR and there is a file called DIR/a.jpg. When entering the directory, a.jpg can be selected/copied, but the whole DIR cannot. When copying the DIR, it will create a FILE called DIR instead of a directory on the target then abort the copy). Manually mounting the share from command line works perfectly. [Bug 593047] Re: distcc fails to distribute to IPv6 addresses [Please import 3.1-5 from Debian, no Ubuntu changes required]
These three patches are all the upstream changes to fix IPv6 issues: - r650 is small and required for ipv6+zeroconf to work correctly; - r673 is already included in 3.1-4ubuntu2 (oneiric and later); - r678 may be considered optional, nice to include for full ipv6 support. The regression potential of r650 is tiny, given the small size of the patch it is easy to verify. Although fixing several other issues, 3.1-5 may not be suitable for a SRU due to unrelated packaging and path changes. Especially these: - 08_gnome-data-public-dirs.patch: install desktop and icon files for distccmon-gnome /usr/share/applications and /usr/share/pixmaps respectively (LP: #512288) * use dpkg triggers to dynamically generate/update compiler links based on the ccache packaging. [Bug 1037820] Re: Broken auto-mute with Realtek ALC889 chipset after 12.04 upgrade
gidantribal, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. Could you please provide the information following https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingSoundProblems ? As well, could you please test the latest upstream kernel available following https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds ? It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Please do not test the kernel in the daily folder, but the one all the way at the bottom. Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please comment on which kernel version specifically you tested and remove the tag: needs-upstream-testing This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the text: needs-upstream-testing If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tags: kernel-fixed-upstream kernel-fixed-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER where VERSION-NUMBER is the version number of the kernel you tested. If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the following tags: kernel-bug-exists-upstream kernel-bug-exists-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER where VERSION-NUMBER is the version number of the kernel you tested. If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, please comment as to why specifically you were unable to test it and add the following tags: kernel-unable-to-test-upstream kernel-unable-to-test-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER where VERSION-NUMBER is the version number of the kernel you tested. Please let us know your results. [Bug 904627] Re: Can't connect CDROM from gui
Found a very strange workaround. In this example the VM name is VZ02-zentyal To reproduce: 1) save a copy of /etc/libvirt/qemu/VZ02-zentyal.xml 2) edit this file with sudo virsh edit VZ02-zentyal 3) add in the device stanza this definition (taken from a VM created with Kubuntu 11.04) disk type='block' device='cdrom' driver name='qemu' type='raw'/ target dev='hdc' bus='ide'/ readonly/ address type='drive' controller='0' bus='1' unit='0'/ /disk controller type='ide' index='0' address type='pci' domain='0x' bus='0x00' slot='0x01' function='0x1'/ /controller 4) reboot the VM -- ATTENTION now virt-manager crashes 5) reboot the host system 6) restore /etc/libvirt/qemu/VZ02-zentyal.xml from the saved copy 7) restart virt-manager -- Now virt-manager starts, the VM have an IDE bus and an IDE CD (strangely the /etc/libvirt/qemu/VZ02-zentyal.xml file is untouched and there is no cdrom stanza) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/904627 Title: Can't connect CDROM from gui To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/virt-manager/+bug/904627/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
