[Blueprint servercloud-q-powernap-opencompute-integration] PowerNap integration into OpenCompute
Blueprint changed by Antonio Rosales: Whiteboard changed: UDS Discussion Points: Capability of S3 suspend in OCP (current state) Neet to communicate / articulate S3 importance to the Hardware Management and Mobo track. Steps 1a. Make sure functionality that is needed by PowerNap is in OCP 1b. Make sure that PowerNap supports OCP monitors / etc 2. Make PowerNap part of the required specification 3. Software - Authenticated/encrypted packet over a network to pass a power comand. - Server side - Monitor to wakeup certain disks based on jobs. - PowerWake - IPMI support. User Stories: Frank wants to be able to take advantage of the OCP hardware power savings features by making use of S3. PowerNap provides a framework for which it can effectively monitor various aspects of the machine (in userspace) and determine when the machine is not utilized. By making use of PowerNap, Frank will be able to obtain power savings by using S3 on his servers, when these are not being in use as determined by PowerNap, and will be able to wake them up on demand. Assumptions: - OCP Provides HW that supports S3 - OCP Has provided the functionality needed by PowerNap - OCP provides HW to test PowerNap functionality. [Bug 972845] Re: after upgrade to precise, service did not start
I am experiencing this problem in Ubuntu 12.04 Desktop (package: tftpd-5.2-1ubuntu1). The tftpd daemon does not start when the computer starts up, even though the tftpd-hpa job starts. As far as I can tell, the problem is that the tftpd service is starting before the network is properly configured. The problem seemed to go away when I changed the line start on runlevel [2345] in /etc/init/tftpd-hpa.conf to start on (local-filesystems and net-device-up IFACE!=lo) However, I am not an expert with Upstart and this may not necessarily be the best way to fix the problem. [Bug 913809] Re: smbd crashed with SIGABRT in rep_strlcpy()/null pointer in connections_fetch_entry
I am experiencing this problem with Samba 3.6.3 on Ubuntu 12.04. I've attached a tarball containing some files that may be useful in diagnosing the problem. They are: - log.smbd for a SAMBA server session (debug level 5) - log.127.0.0.1 for a session with the localhost where I mounted a usershare, listed files, then unmounted it. - smb.conf - usershares directory (from /var/lib/samba/usershares) The internal error is near the end of log.127.0.0.1, when the share was unmounted. I think the error might always happen when the connection is closed. Also, I was unable to reproduce the problem after deleting the usershares and replacing them with sections in smb.conf. (The four usershares had previously been created using Nautilus). ** Attachment added: samba-bug.tar.gz https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/samba/+bug/913809/+attachment/3323438/+files/samba-bug.tar.gz -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to samba in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/913809 Title: smbd crashed with SIGABRT in rep_strlcpy()/null pointer in connections_fetch_entry To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/samba/+bug/913809/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1042556] Re: Critical data loss bug in postgresql-common initscript
I run the p-common tests and manual tests for precise with the packages from -proposed, and they all succeed, marking verified for precise. For lucid I now noticed a slight regression: pg_ctlcluster prints out a warning Name main::result used only once: possible typo at /usr/bin/pg_ctlcluster line 292 which is harmless, but wasn't there before, and breaks expected script output. When merging the patch I accidentally added an additional $result = 0 which doesn't belong there. Sorry for missing that earlier! I uploaded 106ubuntu3 to the unapproved queue which fixes this. ** Tags added: verification-done-precise ** Changed in: postgresql-common (Ubuntu Lucid) Status: Fix Committed = In Progress -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1042556 Title: Critical data loss bug in postgresql-common initscript To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/postgresql-common/+bug/1042556/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 806248] Re: Launcher icons are all rendered up in top left corner
And 50 days uptime and the icons are back... Unfortunately I missed 49 days and 59 minutes, uptime output was 08:02:37 up 50 days, 0 min, 8 users, load average: 1.66, 1.07, 0.85 when I arrived at the office. Actually it showed just file-roller at first (don't know why, but that's all I saw) and after 'unity --replace' I have all my icons back. [Bug 1052323] [NEW] [regression][lucid] system frequently reboots after update in august 2012, path via rtkit and AptDaemon
Public bug reported: My two lucid (LTS- long term support) systems now display recent reboots. I suspect the kernel upgrade that was released end august 2012, but I an not sure. During the time of the reboot, the system was doing calculations in and atd/cron job. The signature of the reboots is as follows: 1) rtkit-daemon starts logging that some processes become RT. 2) after about 1 minute AptDaemon: INFO: Initializing daemon 3) after about 5 minutes AptDaemon: INFO: Quiting due to inactivity 4) then, after about 30 - 60 minutes, I see the system reboot.
