I downloaded the latest daily build as of 30 September and the installer hanged
again while booting.
These were the last three lines printed on the console:

After a standard Ubuntu update (no ppa's) I'm also affected by this bug.
I hope this will be fixed soon, this is really a critical bug.

Comment #5 contains some debug output, including the list of open files

I also cannot reproduce this behavior with my desktop-pc. But my laptop
(eee-PC) always has this problem when shutting down.
