[Bug 1064922] [NEW] Enlistment fails
Public bug reported: Using 0.1+bzr1243+dfsg-0ubuntu2, enlistment fails with the error: maas-enlist: unrecognized option '--power-params' maas-enlist: unrecognized option '--power-type' and then a usage message. It looks like /usr/share/maas/preseeds/enlist_userdata unconditionally expects maas-enlist to support power options, when this support isn't in Precise yet. In my case, maas-enlist 0.4-0ubuntu1.1 was used. It looks like this will go away when the Precise SRU in bug 1063946 is accepted. To answer my previous question for posterity, yes after removing duplicates and resetting the auto incremnt as described above and mismatch between the ids in instances and instance_id_mappings must be recitified: UPDATE instance_id_mappings,instances SET instance_id_mappings.id=instances.id WHERE instances.uuid=instance_id_mappings.uuid and instance_id_mappings.idinstances.id; seems to me instance_id_mappings only contains duplicated information which can only lead ot suffering like this, guess I should go read the code and revision history if I want to see how this came to be. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to nova in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1061166 Title: ec2 instance IDs are broken after folsom upgrade To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/nova/+bug/1061166/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 84899] Re: SSH with GSSAPIAuthentication option on SSH servers are very slow
Ok, I understand the reason to keep it on as default, which is also useful on our case, where we actually have a kerberized environment, but there must be some way to reduce this huge login delay, or at least make it easier to it turn on/off than ssh -o GSSAPIAuthentication=... user@hostname -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to openssh in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/84899 Title: SSH with GSSAPIAuthentication option on SSH servers are very slow To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/openssh/+bug/84899/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 84899] Re: SSH with GSSAPIAuthentication option on SSH servers are very slow
I use plenty of servers without Kerberos and I never see this. I don't think it's clear that having GSSAPIAuthentication on by default is the problem. I think it's more likely that there is some other cause, and turning GSSAPIAuthentication off is merely a workaround. I also suspect that reporters have a number of different underlying problems. One of them might be reverse DNS lookups timing out. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to openssh in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/84899 Title: SSH with GSSAPIAuthentication option on SSH servers are very slow To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/openssh/+bug/84899/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 84899] Re: SSH with GSSAPIAuthentication option on SSH servers are very slow
I also just found some clues that it might be caused by reverse DNS: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=409360 Disabling mdns4 hosts lookup in /etc/nsswitch.conf indeed seems to fix the problem, so I will probably settle with that workaround, keeping GSSAPIAuthentication turned on.

The templates that generate the PXE configurations are already arranged for that kind of thing, but it has proven to be complicated in practice. [Bug 1007273] Re: autofs does not start automatically after reboot
The issue seems to revolve around the upstart scripts, I attempted to rewrite sections of the scripts so that the service would start at later (higher) run level but to no effect. The issue is not with DNS resolution of the domain though. Something is wrong when network-manager initializes the interfaces. Personally I would prefer sysvinit over upstart. [Bug 1059272] Re: php5-fpm init.d script does not return any output when php5-fpm is started or stopped
This is closed in Debian as Not a Bug, but rather a By Design thing. This should be discussed, whether we want to change what the default verbose setting is in /lib/init/vars.sh. That should be decided upon in future, but in the mean time this isn't a bug according to the PHP maintainers. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to php5 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1059272 Title: php5-fpm init.d script does not return any output when php5-fpm is started or stopped To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/php5/+bug/1059272/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

Re: [Bug 1044503] Re: kernel command line is not easily customizable
On Wednesday 10 October 2012 19:25:24 you wrote: On 10 Oct 2012 20:15, Andres Rodriguez andres...@ubuntu-pe.org wrote: I believe we should be able to add an attribute to the Node model. This way, we can define a global config that will apply to all nodes. If a particular node needs to change the attributes, it should be possible to do that independently. We need to think about sets of machines, as identified by tags or whatever, rather than individual nodes. The templates that generate the PXE configurations are already arranged for that kind of thing, but it has proven to be complicated in practice. We should be as smart as we can and do everything we can before giving users a free-form field in which to enter extra bits of the command line. I think doing it by tags is the smartest way, as it offers the most flexibility, fits with the existing UI and doesn't require more special cases. The *implementation* of where the data is stored for nodes with that tag, however, is up for grabs. Per node? A tag/kernel_opt table? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to maas in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1044503 Title: kernel command line is not easily customizable To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/maas/+bug/1044503/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 1065320] [NEW] /var/lib/nova/volumes is owned by root after Folsom upgrade
Public bug reported: In Folsom, Nova begins to store target config files in a directory @ /var/lib/nova/volumes. This directory needs to be created by packaging and owned by nova:nova. This seems to be the case for new installations, however, during upgrades the directory is created but ends up owned as root. This causes nova-volume to error on any action that requires write access to the directory. [Bug 1065331] [NEW] variables defined in maintanier script overriden by global config
Public bug reported: This is an upstream bug. Currently in /usr/share/dbconfig-common/config file there is function called dbc_go() This function calls dbc_config $@ few times (Lines 10 and 163). dbc_config loads global configuration file for dbconfig-common localized in /etc/dbconfig-common/conf Values from this file override these provided by package maintainer in package.postinst etc. This is unusual and in my opinion wrong behavior. For example - maintainer wants to avoid dependency on mysql-server package and wants to enable an ability to configure package with dbconfig-common and remote connection to some mysql-server on remote host. Then in package.config: dbc_remote_questions_default='true' . /usr/share/dbconfig-common/dpkg/config dbc_go dbconfig-test $@ Unfortunately true for dbc_remote_questions_default is overriden if set in global /etc/dbconfig-common/conf because this config is executed directly from dbc_go ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.04 Package: dbconfig-common 1.8.47 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.2.0-32.51-generic 3.2.30 Uname: Linux 3.2.0-32-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia ApportVersion: 2.0.1-0ubuntu14 Architecture: amd64 Date: Thu Oct 11 02:45:41 2012 InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Precise Pangolin - Beta amd64 (20120328) PackageArchitecture: all ProcEnviron: TERM=xterm PATH=(custom, no user) LANG=pl_PL.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: dbconfig-common UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: dbconfig-common (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug precise running-unity -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to dbconfig-common in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1065331 Title: variables defined in maintanier script overriden by global config To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/dbconfig-common/+bug/1065331/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
