WHAT HAPPENED: The icon was effectively locked to the launcher but jumped several positions upwards (random number). Opening the app again from the original file would add a second identical icon to the launcher. After restarting the computer, the icon was lost. [Bug 1067163] Re: Scan "all" not working for Canon Pixma MP280 series
The fact that you can reproduce this with the scanimage frontend means that the bug is not in gscan2pdf, but with the Canon backend. Which package is providing the Canon backend? The possibilities are libsane directly, or a package provided by Canon. Either way, the following command from the CLI should demonstrate the problem to the maintainer: scanimage --device-name='pixma:04A91746_EABCEA' --mode='Color' --source='Flatbed' -y 297 -l 0 --resolution='150' -x 210 -t 0 --batch ** Package changed: gscan2pdf (Ubuntu) => sane-backends (Ubuntu) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1067163 Title: Scan "all" not working for Canon Pixma MP280 series To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/sane-backends/+bug/1067163/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1058641] Re: "No devices detected" radeon regression
@ojordan This looks like the same problem I see with 12.10 on an iMac G5/2.0 20-Inch (ALS) (Identifiers: Ambient Light Sensor - M9845LL/A - PowerMac8,2 - A1076 - 2056) with a Radeon 9600. [Bug 1071138] Re: Unable to connect to OpenVPN endpoint
** Description changed: Hello, I am facing some problems getting OpenVPN working through NetworkManager on Ubuntu 12.10. I am able to connect when using the 'regular' OpenVPN client and a config file, but not through NM with a similar config. From my investigations so far, it seems that the /sys/devices/virtual/net/tap0 device doesn't get created, but I am unable to work out why that is happening. I tried putting apparmor into complain mode to make sure it wasn't a problem with that. I pasted what I believe is the relevant part of syslog below (edited out identifiable information). [Bug 1071138] [NEW] Unable to connect to OpenVPN endpoint
Public bug reported: Hello, I am facing some problems getting OpenVPN working through NetworkManager on Ubuntu 12.10. Can anyone help me with some pointers as to how to troubleshoot this? Best Regards Oct 25 13:38:22 havet NetworkManager[952]: Starting VPN service 'openvpn'... [Bug 1052514] Re: Cannot send mail with large message body
The bug description says "The bug is fixed in a newer version of evolution-mapi". This is incorrect. A link is given (https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=682449 , where the claim that the issue is fixed is made, only to be refuted further down in the comments if you keep reading). As such, this bug is not fixed, there does not currently appear to be a work around, and the evolution team appear to be waving their hands and saying It's not us, because they use OpenChange to connect to exchange and the bug is apparently in OpenChange. For me, at least, given that all my business emails have a signature that includes the corporate logo, it is no longer possible for me to send email at all (and frankly the vast majority of email these days is bigger than 1010 bytes or whatever the practical send limit is). If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com /daily-live/current/ . If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in the development release from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal), as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report: apport-collect -p linux Also, could you please test the latest upstream kernel available following https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds ? [Bug 305333] Re: Brasero, When write all go slowly......
luisRF, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. Intrepid reached EOL on April 30, 2010. Please see this document for currently supported Ubuntu releases: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Releases We were wondering if this is still an issue in a supported release? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com /daily-live/current/ . If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in the development release from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal), as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report: apport-collect -p linux Also, could you please test the latest upstream kernel available following https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds ? It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Please do not test the kernel in the mainline kernels archive directory daily folder, but the one all the way at the bottom. Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please comment on which kernel version specifically you tested. If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tags: kernel-fixed-upstream kernel-fixed-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER where VERSION-NUMBER is the version number of the kernel you tested. For example: kernel-fixed-upstream-v3.7-rc1-quantal This can be done by clicking on the yellow circle with a black pencil icon next to the word Tags located at the bottom of the bug description. As well, please remove the tag: needs-upstream-testing If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the following tags: kernel-bug-exists-upstream kernel-bug-exists-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER As well, please remove the tag: needs-upstream-testing If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, please comment as to why specifically you were unable to test it and add the following tags: kernel-unable-to-test-upstream kernel-unable-to-test-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER Please let us know your results. [Bug 199094] Re: hdparm.conf settings (other than apm) are lost on suspend/resume?
So I'm not sure why people are still seeing a bug here. The /usr/lib /pm-utils/sleep.d/95hdparm-apm script does this: thaw|resume) resume_hdparm_apm # only set the -S option on resuming, not necessary for power.d resume_hdparm_spindown ;; So it explicitly sets the -B and -S options on resume, which are the exact options that users are reporting problems with. I think someone who's seeing this problem needs to diagnose what's going wrong with that script. Does it work if you run it by hand? ** Changed in: hdparm (Ubuntu) Status: Triaged => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/199094 Title: hdparm.conf settings (other than apm) are lost on suspend/resume? [Bug 795765] Re: CDs won't resume playing after being paused
** Description changed: - Binary package hint: rhythmbox + [IMPACT] + + * Rhythmbox won't resume playing an audio CD if you pause it. + + [TESTCASE] + + * Insert an audio CD (not an mp3 CD but a traditional one you'd buy from the music store) + * Test if play and pause work. + + [Regression Potential] + + * None, audio CD playback is already very badly broken. + + + [ Original Bug Report ] Start a music track playing in a usual way, such as highlighting a track and pressing the play/pause button or double LMB clicking on a track. The play/pause button icon changes to a pause icon. If the play/pause button is pressed the button changes to a play button but has no effect on the track playing. The title bar of Rhythmbox then has "(Paused") displayed after the artist and track details. If the play/pause button is pressed again it "goes in and comes out" but stays as a play button and the track carries on playing. A "pause" icon is displayed in the left "speaker icon" column in the track list next to the track that has been paused. The only way to stop the track playing is to "Quit" Rhythmbox. The next and previous track buttons do work correctly on a playing track, if the pause/play button is not pressed first. Also the slider that indicates how the progress of track can be moved left or right and everything behaves as expected. It is just that there is no way to pause/stop a playing track. The same behaviour happens if either the buttons on the top menu bar are used, or the laptop "hot key" buttons. If a second track is double LMB clicked to start (after a previous track has tried to be paused) the second track starts to play with the first one still playing as well. The play/pause button turns back to a pause button again. If the play/pause button is pressed the same behaviour is observed it turns to a play button, the menu bar displays "(Paused)" and the track carries on playing. This process can be repeated so that you have multiple tracks all playing and non being able to be paused/stop. Also using the previous/next track buttons, after one has tried to pause a track, causes a new track to start playing. A quit is the only control you seem to have to stop music playing. I have also started rhythmbox from a terminal in debug mode using: rhythmbox -d 2&> rhythmbox_debug.txt and started track tried to pause it, used previous/next buttons, pressed play/pause again etc, so multiple tracks were playing. I have attached this output to this report. If I open the same folder of music (mp3 files) in VLC I can play/pause the music, previous/next buttons work ok. I have also tried Ubuntu 11.04 from the live CD, where Banshee is the default music player. I seemed to get the same behaviour with play/pause (ie not working) as I did with rhythmbox in 10.10. $ lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 10.10 Release: 10.10 $ apt-cache policy rhythmbox rhythmbox: - Installed: 0.13.1-0ubuntu6.1 - Candidate: 0.13.1-0ubuntu6.1 - Version table: - *** 0.13.1-0ubuntu6.1 0 - 500 http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick-updates/main i386 Packages - 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status - 0.13.1-0ubuntu5 0 - 500 http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick/main i386 Packages + Installed: 0.13.1-0ubuntu6.1 + Candidate: 0.13.1-0ubuntu6.1 + Version table: + *** 0.13.1-0ubuntu6.1 0 + 500 http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick-updates/main i386 Packages + 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status + 0.13.1-0ubuntu5 0 + 500 http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick/main i386 Packages ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.10 Package: rhythmbox 0.13.1-0ubuntu6.1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.35-28.50-generic-pae 2.6.35.11 Uname: Linux 2.6.35-28-generic-pae i686 Architecture: i386 Date: Fri Jun 10 22:41:02 2011 EcryptfsInUse: Yes InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 10.10 "Maverick Meerkat" - Release i386 (20101007) ProcEnviron: - PATH=(custom, user) - LANG=en_GB.utf8 - SHELL=/bin/bash + PATH=(custom, user) + LANG=en_GB.utf8 + SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: rhythmbox ** Changed in: rhythmbox (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => In Progress -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/795765 Title: CDs won't resume playing after being paused To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/oem-priority/+bug/795765/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1070773] Re: system hangs on boot (at loading radeon related modules)
Piotr Kęplicz, thank you for testing the mainline kernel. The next step is to perform a Ubuntu kernel bisect from 3.2 to 3.5.0-17.28, in order to identify the last good Ubuntu kernel version, and first bad one. As per https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/quantal/+source/linux we have: 3.2.0-23.36 3.2.0-24.37 3.4.0-1.1 3.4.0-1.2 3.4.0-1.3 3.4.0-2.4 3.4.0-2.5 3.4.0-2.6 3.4.0-3.7 3.4.0-3.8 3.4.0-4.9 3.4.0-4.10 3.4.0-5.11 3.5.0-1.1 3.5.0-2.2 3.5.0-3.3 3.5.0-4.4 3.5.0-5.5 3.5.0-6.6 3.5.0-7.7 3.5.0-8.8 3.5.0-9.9 3.5.0-10.10 3.5.0-11.11 3.5.0-12.12 3.5.0-13.13 3.5.0-13.14 3.5.0-14.15 3.5.0-14.16 3.5.0-14.17 3.5.0-14.18 3.5.0-14.19 3.5.0-15.20 3.5.0-15.21 3.5.0-15.22 3.5.0-15.23 3.5.0-16.24 3.5.0-16.25 3.5.0-17.26 3.5.0-17.27 3.5.0-17.28 Hence, could you please test 3.5.0-8.8 via https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/3.5.0-8.8/+build/3702773 ? [Bug 1070773] Re: system hangs on boot (at loading radeon related modules)
** Description changed: After an upgrade to Ubuntu 12.10 (kernel 3.5), the system fails to boot. When starting without "quiet splash" options, the last kernel messages - relate to loading and initializing radeon and drm modules.
