In bug 1081702, design has mentioned that they intentionally dither the default
Ubuntu wallpaper image so that it looks OK on 6-bit LCDs (18-bit colour). I
find this disappointing because it reduces the image quality (dithering =
grainy) for everyone who has a 24-bit display.

Hamster indicator requires python-appindicator but does not depend on it.
After I made a clean install of Lubuntu 12.04 32bit and updated the system, I
install hamster-indicator and find out that it crashes.
The problem can be solved if I install python-appindicator manually.

No, this is not a duplicate of bug #1069255. This is a problem related
to Thunar browsing deeply within the gvfs folder (which as of 12.10 is
at /run/user//gvfs). I see the same problem as John
