configuration and sample email which exhibit the problem? Then we can
quickly use that to figure out which versions are affected, if the
problem exists upstream, if it has already been fixed there or we need

It looks like the problem stems from this line:

W: Failed to fetch
http://ppa.launchpad.net/nijaba/ubuntu/dists/quantal/main/binary-
amd64/Packages 404 Not Found

Please could you explain the presence of this PPA? Is this from a entry
that is no longer needed? I don't believe that vmbuilder uses this PPA
by default, so what in your configuration is causing this attempt that
fails?

I can't reproduce this problem with sbuild using a raring chroot. My
build succeeds, so I don't see a problem with the libvirt source. Build
log attached.

Have you tried using sbuild, or run apt-get build-dep libvirt? libvirt
version 1.0.2-0ubuntu7 only exists in raring, so is only expected to
work in raring. Are you using raring?

I understand the problem you're having, but since this package can be
built using standard tools (sbuild), this is not a bug in Ubuntu and so
I'm marking this bug as Invalid.

If you need help getting a build to work on your own system and in your
own environment, this bug tracker isn't really the right venue to get
help. There are a list of community support resources available at
http://www.ubuntu.com/support/community. In this case askubuntu.com or
the appropriate mailing list would be suitable.
