I setup a vServer with ubuntu 12.04.02 LTS last week using the image that my provider has supplied and I get the same error reported from logwatch. error: Could not load host key: /etc/ssh/ssh_host_ecdsa_key Looking at the /etc/ssh I only see: ssh_config sshd_config ssh_host_dsa_key ssh_host_dsa_key.pub ssh_host_key ssh_host_key.pub ssh_host_rsa_key ssh_host_rsa_key.pub Strange enough I did not notice any problems not having the ecdsa key except the message from logwatch. So what is it needed for anyway? [Bug 1165461] [NEW] pam_winbind offline logon does not work in 12.04
You have been subscribed to a public bug: The pam_winbind offline login does not work in 12.04 LTS with latest updates. My configuration. Client joined to domain with uidNumber set in AD. smb.conf with winbind offline logon = yes /etc/security/pam_winbind.conf with cached_login = yes PAM configuration is the default pam-auth-update configuration with winbind. If I am online everything works as expected. I can login with my AD account tstusr2. But if my notebook has no connection to the domain controller the offline login does not work anymore. The problem seems to be somehwere in PAM as PAM identifies the user as unkown. See attachment auth.log. +1 for this issue. For me it happens on Ubuntu 12.04 and 12.10 with Thunderbird 17.x. Essentially, all pop-up dialogs happen on monitor 1 when Thunderbird is running on monitor 2. This appears to have been something in my personal config - a test user didn't replicate the issue, and after moving all relevant directories out of the way (.compiz, .config, .dbus, .gconf, .gnome2* and .local), I was able to get a clean unity session up. I have 3 monitors. 2 with 1280x1024, 1 with 2560x1600. This worked in 12.04 with amdcccle, set as multidesktop setting 1 big desktop, xenorate off, non-tearing on. I upgraded to 13.04 beta 2. (all same hardware) Now only one screen works with AMDCCCLE (reports 'hardware no supported' on all 3 screen). I tried every option offered by AMDCCLE. Screens work with openGL.
