[Bug 1168526] Re: race condition causing lxc to not detect container init process exit
I should add that these forwarded signal 2 lines are due to me pressing Ctrl+C and are not actually relevant. Have you been able to repro this bug on kernel 3.8.6? I'm thinking how to fix this as lxc_spawn is what gets the pid which is needed by lxc_poll to listen for SIGCHLD from the correct pid, but lxc_poll should logically go before lxc_spawn to avoid this race. How about starting lxc_poll first in a queueing mode, so it just accumulates the signals but doesn't process them yet? When handler-pid = lxc_clone(do_start, handler, handler-clone_flags); returns, notify lxc_poll of the pid, thus it should now have all the info it needs, switching it out of queueing mode and initiating a loop to process the queued events now that the pid is known. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to lxc in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1168526 Title: race condition causing lxc to not detect container init process exit To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lxc/+bug/1168526/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1166916] Re: temperature overheating probably radeon
okay, here is the data you have been waiting for... but first thing to know is that I have put my laptop on a stand to increase airflow, thus it's over-all temperature is now about 3 degrees cooler than the above observations. none-the-less even with better airflow it still hit 96c and climbing, at 100% load, before I stopped it. I wrote a program to record the temperature and cpu load data, which I will attach below. But let me just give you the bottom line here. There is no difference between running the generic kernel and the low latency kernel. There is minor difference between 10.10 and 12.04 There is a huge difference between 12.04 and 12.10. On 12.10 I tried both low latency and generic, I also tried all 3 of the available video drivers. I did not see any signifigant difference with any of these combinations. Since I no longer have 12.10 installed I can't show you the data. However the preformance of 12.10 is essentially identical to 13.04 and I do have the data for 13.04. Except that on 13.04 when I tried to install alternate video drivers it hung. So I could only test with the xorg driver. Temperature preformance of 12.04 is a little bit higher than 10.10 but is satisfactory. On the other hand 12.10 and 13.04 are dramatically hotter. Under max load 12.04 never gets above 82c, under light load it is typically in the low 60's. By contrast, 12.10 and 13.04 seldom get cooler than 80c and easily reach the 90s. Which is dangerously close to hardware destruction. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1166916 Title: temperature overheating probably radeon To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-lowlatency/+bug/1166916/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1166916] Re: temperature overheating probably radeon
2 further thoughts... on 12.10 I also tried the 32 bit low latency kernel with similar high temperatures. on 13.04 during prolonged idle I noticed an interesting behavior; when starting from cool... and running at idle, it heats up to 79c at which point the fan kicks into high gear, it then cools back down to about 75c where the temperature stabilizes. You can see this in the data, just know that there was no change in load, it was idle the whole time. [Bug 830663] Re: default window size is too small
Patch 'fix-bug-830663.patch' tested on OS X 10.7.5 with Inkscape 0.48+devel r12274: - GTK+/X11 2.24.13, XQuartz 2.7.4 (xorg-server 1.13.0) - GTK+/Quartz 2.24.17, (native Quartz backend) Patch works as expected, though the results vary depending on GTK+ backend / Window manager / GTK+ version (I'm not sure which component is to blame): launching Inkscape with new (default) prefs and default template, any new empty document window is maximized immediately. Details: - With the X11-based build, the document window can be de-maximized using the buttons in the windows decoration, and it resizes to the minimal window size it originally has (i.e. without the patch). - With the Quartz-based build, the maximized document window cannot be de-maximized at all: the document window is opened with window widthheight set to max values, but without setting the 'inkscape :window-maximized' value to 1 in namedview. This is annoying since users who dislike 'maximized' view have to manually resize each new document window by grabbing dragging one of the edges (OS X = 10.7) or the bottom-right corner (Mac OS X = 10.6.8) - requiring much more efforts than the current state without patch. Likely the patch exposes an underlying issue in the interaction between Inkscape and certain window managers. opinion 'Maximize' and 'De-maximize' of a maximized Inkscape document window on OS X - be it under X11 or with the native backend - has never worked reliably for me, which might have contributed to me being opposed to defaulting to open in a maximized state as default setting. Personally, I'm still opposed to such a default, but won't argue for my POV anymore, since based on the reaction to my earlier comments (outside the bug tracker), a majority of users seems to prefer this. /opinion -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/830663 Title: default window size is too small To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/830663/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1157864] Re: Requests to https server can yield WantReadError
Sina- The propose patch did not get accepted for merging into python- glanceclient and has since been abandoned/expired. The issue is still unresolved upstream so you should not expect a fix to make its way out via Ubuntu or the Ubuntu Cloud Archive until the bug has been addressed in the upstream project. It seems there was disagreement as to whether this should be fixed the client library or the core project itself (glance, nova, etc). If it ends up being resolved in nova, you can expect a fix to make its way out to respective packages via an Ubuntu SRU based on the upstream stable/grizzly branch. If a fix makes its way into the client library, we should consider back-porting a patch to the current client version in 13.04 and grizzly Cloud Archive pocket, since client libraries have no stable upstream branches. ** Changed in: python-glanceclient (Ubuntu) Importance: High = Critical -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1157864 Title: Requests to https server can yield WantReadError To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/python-glanceclient/+bug/1157864/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1168631] [NEW] Cursor jumps around sometimes when using multiple fingers.
Public bug reported: I'm using an Apple Magic Trackpad for quite a while now. In 12.10 it has worked like a charm, but after upgrading to 13.04 it started to jump my cursor around sometimes. For example: When scrolling in firefox, it gets done by first putting two fingers on the pad and pulling them down. The content scrolls correctly. But when i then remove my fingers from the pad and put them at the top again, it instantly scrolls back to where it was before, which kind of defeats the purpose of scrolling. Another example: Before the upgrade, it was possible to drag the scrollbar-handle (or a file) with one finger and when the finger reached the end of the pad, i could simply put a second finger on the pad and continue dragging with that finger. But after the upgrade the cursor jumps around the screen as soon as the second finger hits the pad. I'm not sure if it is related, but sometimes the whole graphic session crashes and drops me to the login-screen when using multiple fingers on the trackpad. I'm willing to provide debug information, test patched packages and do thinks like that if it helps fixing the bug. [Bug 1168636] [NEW] compiz resets active plugin list on every login
Public bug reported: I'm on Ubuntu Raring. To see the problem: 1. Start CompizConfig Settings Manager and enable a new plugin, e.g. the JPEG image loading plugin. 2. The plugin will be loaded in compiz (as you can see in .xsession-errors). 3. Log out and log back in. 4. The plugin you enabled will not be loaded any more. When you enable the plugin in CompizConfig it gets added to ~/.config/compiz-1/compizconfig/unity.ini. It appears that on every login this file gets overwritten with a default set of plugins, so the extra plugin is lost. ** Affects: compiz (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1168636 Title: compiz resets active plugin list on every login To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/compiz/+bug/1168636/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
