Re: [Bug 1203757] [NEW] nagios-plugin plugin check_icmp missing suid-bit after update
Am 22.07.2013 15:59, schrieb Bugrepoter: update of the nagios-plugins removes the suid-bit from check_icmp. This Sorry, this binaries don't have suid set. I guess you did change that on your own. Maybe you should have a look into /usr/share/doc/nagios-plugins-basic/README.Debian.gz: plugins needing root privilege the check_dhcp, check_icmp and maybe others plugins require root privileges to run, because of the low-level packet mangling that they perform. but, in the interest of the safe default, these plugins will not be installed with the suid bit set. there are two recommended ways about overriding this on your system: - set the suid bit with dpkg-statoverride: # dpkg-statoverride --update --add root nagios 4750 $plugin where $plugin is the specific plugin you want to grant such privileges. - use sudo to grant the permissions and modify your plugin config of these two, the first is recommended because it's the simplest and has the same effect as the second. breaks all host checks, since the nagios user can't ping any host without it. The default configuration is to use check_ping for the host check. [Bug 1204069] [NEW] lxc dhcp fails
Public bug reported: With the latest Saucy, LXC containers don't seem to have their network setting configured correctly. I've tried this with both containers created before I upgraded to Saucy, and containers freshly created after the upgrade. In both cases, the guest user-space is 12.04. After the container has started I try to find the address, but it fails: $ host precise 10.0.3.1 Using domain server: Name: 10.0.3.1 Address: 10.0.3.1#53 Aliases: Host precise not found: 2(SERVFAIL) Looking in the syslog reveals that it did try to obtain an address, and dnsmasq did try to serve one (I think). The following is repeated many times: Jul 23 12:07:27 GBN-ASTUBBS-UB dnsmasq-dhcp[1475]: DHCPDISCOVER(lxcbr0) 00:16:3e:9e:0f:ee Jul 23 12:07:27 GBN-ASTUBBS-UB dnsmasq-dhcp[1475]: DHCPOFFER(lxcbr0) 10.0.3.154 00:16:3e:9e:0f:ee But, still, nothing can get in, and nothing can get out. Inside the container, ifconfig gives this: eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:16:3e:89:48:ab inet6 addr: fe80::216:3eff:fe89:48ab/64 Scope:Link UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:192 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:28 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000 RX bytes:23650 (23.6 KB) TX bytes:6952 (6.9 KB) loLink encap:Local Loopback inet addr:127.0.0.1 Mask:255.0.0.0 inet6 addr: ::1/128 Scope:Host UP LOOPBACK RUNNING MTU:65536 Metric:1 RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:0 RX bytes:0 (0.0 B) TX bytes:0 (0.0 B) If I try running sudo dhclient manually then I get many more entries in the log, but still no address. I can get the network interface to function by configuring it manually: ifconfig eth0 10.0.3.50/24 route add default gw 10.0.3.1 echo 'nameserver 10.0.3.1' /run/resolvconf/interface/eth0 service resolvconf restart I'm sure that the official way to set up a static IP would work too, but really I want DHCP to work, like it used to. ** Affects: lxc (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to lxc in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1204069 Title: lxc dhcp fails To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lxc/+bug/1204069/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1204069] Re: lxc dhcp fails
This is caused to a kernel change in saucy related to udp checksum offloading. I changed isc-dhcp in all currently supported releases to fix that specific issue, so if your precise container was up to date, you wouldn't have the problem. I'd suggest flushing the LXC cache and updating your current containers, then try again. ** Changed in: lxc (Ubuntu) Status: New = Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to lxc in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1204069 Title: lxc dhcp fails To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lxc/+bug/1204069/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1202758] Re: hostname not resolvable on azure
I really have no good ideas on how to do this. The simplist solution I think woudl be to have a tool like: dhcp-advertize-hostname --interface=eth0 --hostname=foo and just invoke it. That tool would just do a dhcp request with the hostname set. I'm just not familiar enough with how dhcp works to say if we can actually do that or not. It seems at very least that we'd risk invalidating the lease. This code would only be run on azure, so that would minimize the issue. bouncing the interface like walinuxagent does is really less than ideal. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to cloud-init in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1202758 Title: hostname not resolvable on azure To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/cloud-init/+bug/1202758/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1201323] Re: Please merge python-webob 1.2.3-2 (main) from Debian unstable (main)

[Bug 1201323] Re: Please merge python-webob 1.2.3-2 (main) from Debian unstable (main)
