[Bug 618838] Re: Apple Magic Trackpad requires PIN to pair, fails manual pairing

2013-07-26 Thread Paul M Edwards
I've noticed that the pairing assistant wizard remembers the PIN option
specified when run as root.
I read on the GNOME blog that GNOME 3.10 will have completely re-done Bluetooth
wizard, so this issue (which I'm also experiencing) may be resolved then. I've
installed `blueman` in the interim which is an alternative GTK+ bluetooth
management utility for GNOME using the bluez D-Bus backend.

[Bug 1205562] [NEW] [background] wallpapers in grid are too small, take long time to load

2013-07-26 Thread Jeremy Bicha
Public bug reported:

1. From GNOME Shell, right-click on the desktop and select Change Background…
(If not running GNOME Shell, run XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP=GNOME gnome-control-center
background )
2. Click on the big wallpaper button

What should happen

The default wallpapers show up within about a second or two. There's room for
about 9 wallpapers that fully fill the white part of the window (3 rows and 3
columns although the bottom row only shows the top half of the wallpapers).

What happens
===
Recently in Saucy, the wallpapers started showing up much smaller than they
should. There's room for about 16 in a single row. Also the wallpapers take
much, much longer to load than previously. On my laptop, it took about 37
seconds for the first row of wallpapers to finish showing up. Screenshot
attached.

Notably this does not affect Ubuntu 13.04 with the GNOME3 PPA which
includes quite a bit of GNOME 3.8 backported including GTK+ 3.8.2. The
GNOME3 PPA does not currently include an updated gnome-control-center
and gnome-settings-daemon (Ubuntu 13.04 ships  1:3.6.3-0ubuntu24.1).

https://launchpad.net/~gnome3-team/+archive/gnome3/+packages?field.series_filter=raring

This has not yet been reported in gnome-control-center's bugzilla nor
have any relevant commits been made to the background panel in trunk:

[Bug 1154715] Re: Ubuntu GNOME installer shows screenshots which do not apply

2013-07-26 Thread Jeremy Bicha
Jackson, I consider this bug release-critical for Ubuntu GNOME because
from my perspective this bug has a big impact.

The slideshow for Ubuntu GNOME was outdated even for 12.10 because
nobody started working on it until after User Interface Freeze and I
didn't want the installer to only be partially translated (that's why
there is no explanatory text). Updating the slideshow wasn't done for
13.04 so we're overdue for fixing it now.

It's really not that different from Canonical labeling several of their
Unity bugs as "Critical" such as bug 1053470 for the "Amazon" feature.

the Jack detection of headphone imply your headphone is un plugged

you have to post the pulseaudio verbose log and try hda-jack-sense-test
to verify the Jack detection is correct when headphone is plugged and
unplugged

[Bug 1077009] Re: Intrusive Authentication Request pops up and steals keyboard

2013-07-26 Thread john h
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1044549 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1044549

Apologies, I believe I have found a solution.

I have 13.04 and loaded up the gnome interface. Since then i've received
the same error.

I opened Passwords and Keys>View>By Keyring
I unlocked the Gnome 2 Key Storage Folder
I selected the Login Folder and then deleted the Gnome 2 keyring / pass pn the
right side of the panel (right click > delete)
I also clicked the plus sign and added a stored password:
Keyring: Login
Description: whatever
Password: Your ubuntu login password
Then I added it.

I did not need to reboot. The constant nagging for keyring passwords
that could lock up my keyboard if I didn't cancel them went away.

I'm a noob at ubuntu and i'm not sure which thing fixed it (the deletion
or the add?) but I hope it fixes this bug for you guys.

Pz

[Bug 1205548] [NEW] qapt-deb-installer mishandles the architecture-specific dependency qualifiers

2013-07-26 Thread Francois Gouget
Public bug reported:

Here is how to reproduce this bug:
 * Download http://fgouget.free.fr/bugs/testdep.tar.bz2
   This is a small archive that contains a set of test, empty, Debian package
files along with their source.
   (run ./build to rebuild them)

 * Install the testdep-same_1.0-1_amd64.deb package.

 * Then run: qapt-deb-installer testdep-same-arch_1.0-1_i386.deb

qapt-deb-installer will then refuse to install the package with the
following error:

Status: Error: Cannot satisfy dependencies

Yet testdep-same-arch has 'testdep-same:amd64' as its sole dependency so
the installed amd64 testdep-same package should satisfy it. Running dpkg
confirms this:

$ sudo dpkg -i testdep-same-arch_1.0-1_i386.deb
Selecting previously unselected package testdep-same-arch.
(Reading database ... 214863 files and directories currently installed.)
Unpacking testdep-same-arch (from testdep-same-arch_1.0-1_i386.deb) ...
Setting up testdep-same-arch (1.0-1) ...

Finally, note that support for this type of dependency qualifier has
been added in dpkg 1.16.5. For more details see:

* Bug #676232: dpkg: Please add support for specific arch qualifiers
(cross-dependencies)
  http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=676232

* dpkg commit 7acf7afa581457bc2e9bd6cd1f442e6f45c1db29
  Author: Thibaut Girka
  Date: Thu Jun 28 01:11:11 2012 +0200

  Add support for specific arch-qualified dependencies

  This allows to use dependencies with arch-qualified package names. For
  example:

Depends: libc6:amd64 (>= 2.14), libgcc1

[Bug 1205513] Re: info-cc-panel-WARNING **: PackageKit version 0.7.6 not supported

2013-07-26 Thread Ubuntu Foundations Team Bug Bot
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a
specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu
in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source
packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs
about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your
bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage.
You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1205513/+editstatus and add the
package name in the text box next to the word Package.

[This is an automated message. I apologize if it reached you
inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.]

[Bug 1205509] Re: Raring - Unity extremely slow, ATI Radeon Xpress 1100

2013-07-26 Thread Arturo Ovalle Mendoza
BUG SOLVED:
I tried x-org edgers and that fixed the bug.

These were the steps:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:xorg-edgers/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install xserver-xorg-video-ati
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade

After restarting, the bug was fixed.

Thank you very much !
