[Bug 1183300] Re: Please upgrade keepalived to the latest upstream version

2013-08-13 Thread Daniel Holbach
Thanks for your work on this.

What I noticed in your patch:
 - (minor) the indentation in debian/changelog is off a bit - as far as I can
see everything is Remaining changes, right?
 - I think that DEB_UPDATE_RCD_PARAMS, DEB_AUTO_UPDATE_AUTOCONF,
DEB_CONFIGURE_SCRIPT_ENV, DEB_CONFIGURE_EXTRA_FLAGS all are only used and
meaningful in the context of
cdbs. which is not used in this version any more. For instance seems
--enable-snmp not to be passed on during the build.

[Bug 1175028] Re: Mongodb links GPL code with SSL

2013-08-13 Thread James Page
I've chased upstream on this issue again; the appropriate exceptions
should be in the right headers for the next release of the 2.5.x series
which is scheduled for the 5th September.

[Bug 1211876] [NEW] [Precise] keepalived reload buggy

2013-08-13 Thread Peter Matulis
Public bug reported:

There are at least 2 identified problems with keepalived on Precise when
trying to reload the configuration (/etc/keepalived/keepalived.conf):

(a) The removal of a server from the cluster does not work when the port
of that server is in use by another member server

(b) The change of weight of a cluster member does not work

Reload is done by either:

1. sudo service keepalived reload
2. sudo kill -HUP `pidof keepalived`

The upstream devel list suggests that issue (a) [1] has been resolved in
version 1.2.3 which is currently only in Debian unstable via version
1.2.7. I can't find the actual bug supposedly filed by 'Ronie Gilberto
Henrich'. I have not tested 1.2.7 as it is not easily available to me.

The pertinent entry for (a) in the upstream changelog [2] I believe is
here:

{{{ * check : Fix IPv4 address comparison routine. }}}

This bug is a request to have fixes for both issues ([3] for (a))
introduced into Ubuntu 12.04.

[Bug 1211918] [NEW] WALinuxAgent Github repo has moved

2013-08-13 Thread Stephen A. Zarkos
Public bug reported:

Hello,

The Github repo for Windows Azure Linux Agent has moved to the official
Windows Azure organization on Github. Please update your upstream
sources:

Old repo: https://github.com/Windows-Azure/WALinuxAgent
New repo: https://github.com/WindowsAzure/WALinuxAgent

We used the Github transfer mechanism so all git history, pull requests,
stars/watchers, etc. have been preserved.

Thanks!

[Bug 1211942] [NEW] Dropped squid transitional package blocks -proposed migration

2013-08-13 Thread Robie Basak
Public bug reported:

From the changelog for 3.3.4-1ubuntu1:

  * Dropped:
[...]
- debian/control: Dropped transitional packages from squid, no
  longer required.

Doing this makes sqcwa and squid-prefetch uninstallable in saucy, since
they depend on squid. This is preventing migration of 3.3.4-1ubuntu1
to saucy. See: http://people.canonical.com/~ubuntu-archive/proposed-
migration/update_output.txt

It seems to me that we still need the squid transitional package, and
am not sure of the reasoning that it is no longer required.

[Bug 1212008] [NEW] Perl fix needed

2013-08-13 Thread Roger Binns
Public bug reported:

[Bug 1212051] [NEW] Windows XP guest lose connectivity with bridged network

2013-08-13 Thread Hector Perez
Public bug reported:

We have installed kvm on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Host 64 bits.

There are 4 VM guest running Endian Firewall (Community Edition), and
two Ubuntu 10.04 LTS servers. Aditionally 1 VM guest running Windows XP
SP3 32 bits.

Except the Endian Firewall, all VM has virtio drivers for ethernet and
disc I/O.

The problem only occurs on Windows XP VM. Aleatory the ethernet of this
VM is loosed, and the guest don't respond any ping, or access from any
port. The other linux VM has no problem, so aparently is not the
problem of Bridged network that we saw in other reported bugs.

* The impact is big on this VM because RDP freeze (because is lose
connectivity).
* All VM are using bridged networking.
* ONLY Windows XP VM lose conectiviy.

[Bug 1201938] Re: excessive memory use from libvirtd

2013-08-13 Thread Serge Hallyn
** No longer affects: libvirt (Ubuntu Precise)

** No longer affects: libvirt (Ubuntu Quantal)

** No longer affects: libvirt (Ubuntu)

** No longer affects: libvirt (Ubuntu Raring)

** Description changed:

+ ==
+ SRU Justification
+ 1. Impact: libvirt over time consumes excessive memory due to a call to
libnetcf
+ 2. Development fix: a patch to free a path which was being leaked
+ 3. Stable fix: same as development fix
+ 4. Test case: start libvirtd, and connect to it with virt-manager. Leave
that running. Run top in a terminal, hit 'M' to sort by memory, and watch for
RSS for libvirtd to grow. Give it an hour or two to grow by a few M.
+ 5. Regression potential: there should be none as this only causes a path to
be freed (after an earlier check for failure which should ensure the path is in
fact allocated).
+ ==
libvirtd is using excessive amounts of memory after a week or so of uptime:

[Bug 1006988] Re: ivview application does not start

2013-08-13 Thread Graham Inggs
** Description changed:

[SRU] The patch attached to comment #4 backports the following changes from
2.1.5-10-17 in Saucy:
  - patches/add-required-libs.patch: Link with -lXm before -lXt. (LP: #1006988)
  - patches/buildsystem.patch: Use xdg-open as PDF viewer. (LP: #1208162)
  - patch/configurability.patch: Fix opening About page in revo. (Upstream
revision 46200)

  [IMPACT]
Attempting to run any of the programs listed below fails with the following
error:

  Warning: XmManager ClassInitialize: XmeTraitSet failed
Error: attempt to add non-widget child DropSiteManager to parent ivview
which supports only widgets

  In package inventor-clients:
  /usr/bin/ivview
  /usr/bin/SceneViewer

  In package inventor-demo:
  /usr/lib/inventor/drop
  /usr/lib/inventor/gview.RUNME
  /usr/lib/inventor/maze
  /usr/lib/inventor/noodle.RUNME
  /usr/lib/inventor/qmorf.RUNME
  /usr/lib/inventor/revo
  /usr/lib/inventor/SceneViewer.RUNME
  /usr/lib/inventor/textomatic

Additionally, all of the above programs are hard-coded to use xpdf for
displaying their help pages (LP: #1208162). Xpdf would not be installed
- on a typical desktop as libinvenotr's recommends in Ubuntu were on xpdf
+ on a typical desktop as libinventor's recommends in Ubuntu were on xpdf
  | pdf-viewer, which would be satisfied by the desktop's default PDF
viewer even though it would never be used. If xpdf is installed, it is
almost guaranteed to segfault while opening any document (LP: #943195).

  [Test Case]
  Install inventor-clients and inventor-demo:
  $ sudo apt-get install inventor-clients inventor-demo

Run any of the programs listed above, for example:
  $ /usr/lib/inventor/qmorf.RUNME

Verify that the program is able to start.
Click on the About button, or from the menu; File / About, and verify that
the About or help page is opened.

+ [Regression Potential]
+ The only packages in the archive depending on libinventor are those produced
by this package. The inventor-clients and inventor-demo programs were unable to
start so a regression couldn't make the situation worse.
+

---

On Ubuntu 12.04 (64bit) the ivview application from the inventor-clients
package fails with the following error on startup:

  Warning: XmManager ClassInitialize: XmeTraitSet failed
Error: attempt to add non-widget child DropSiteManager to parent ivview
which supports only widgets

[Bug 1114281] Re: ERROR @wl_cfg80211_get_station : Could not get rate (-1)

2013-08-13 Thread acoundexist
A modified version of the wl driver (just commented the errors out, so
they wont pop up) can be found here:
http://www.mediafire.com/download/8gq5vz3bghi1hhu/wl.tar.gz

The compiled-binary version can be found here:
http://www.mediafire.com/download/50hzvm0pbbcxzlq/wl.ko

It's not a permament fix but annoying errors will dissapear.

To install just run locate wl.ko, go in the directory that it pops up
and replace the wl.ko file. Remember to always keep a copy of the
original file, just in case.

Hope I helped someone.

P.S. I am not sure if download links like this are allowed.

[Bug 1014640] Re: 12.04/openssl refusing some verisign certified sites

2013-08-13 Thread SeanBoran
Fix:

Verisign's 2009 ROOT certificate is missing, so download it an install
it.

1) Copy the Root CA from Symantec:
https://knowledge.verisign.com/support/ssl-certificates-
support/index?page=contentid=AR1556

2) Save to a file like verisign2009.crt in
/usr/local/share/ca-certificates/
$ sudo vi /usr/local/share/ca-certificates/verisign2009.crt

3) Update the certificate stor
$ sudo update-ca-certificates

Now all of the above https site work fine, at least on 12.04.

The procedure is same for any custom CA certs that one needs to add.
/usr/local/share/ca-certificates/ is normally empty.

I can confirm that FHD lcd backlight controls F4/F5 works from BIOS to grub

In the same time, keyboard backlight control F6 works only once ubuntu is

[Bug 1173581] Re: Ubuntu 13.04 full system crash/kernel panic

2013-08-13 Thread Arie Skliarouk
I had the same problem, the laptop Dell Studio 1569 have been freezing
after 3-4 hours of work (ubuntu 13.04 amd64).

I tried to install bcmwl-kernel 6.30.223, disabled apport, disabled
Intel SpeedStep, used acpi=off noapic kernel args, to no avail.

Upgraded kernel to version 3.10.0.6 (taken from ubuntu saucy) and worked
for 15 hours already. Suspend is still broken though...

[Bug 1183300] Re: Please upgrade keepalived to the latest upstream version

2013-08-13 Thread Daniel Holbach
Thanks for your work on this.

What I noticed in your patch:
 - (minor) the indentation in debian/changelog is off a bit - as far as I can
see everything is Remaining changes, right?
 - I think that DEB_UPDATE_RCD_PARAMS, DEB_AUTO_UPDATE_AUTOCONF,
DEB_CONFIGURE_SCRIPT_ENV, DEB_CONFIGURE_EXTRA_FLAGS all are only used and
meaningful in the context of
cdbs. which is not used in this version any more. For instance seems
--enable-snmp not to be passed on during the build.

[Bug 1211660] [NEW] Xorg freeze

2013-08-13 Thread douham

run firefox with all-addons disabled for stability. Flash seems to play

2013-08-13 Thread Zayed Amer Al-Saidi
@ Christopher, for time being I can not upgrade to any new development
release. I need to stick to the LTS release (i.e. 12.04). However, I
fixed this issue by install v3.5-xx-quantal kernel as mentioned above.
It is not the optimum solution.

Re: [Bug 1022465] Re: rt73usb driver still buggy

2013-08-13 Thread udippel
I am very sorry, I updated maybe a hundred BIOS before, always without any
problem (meaning, I know how to!). But when I had to update the BIOS of
this mainboard last time, I ended up with a brick. And then it was a costly
€ 30 expenditure to return to factory, and some 10 days without. I reckon
it was an MSI problem (since I joined the ranks of many more people bitten
likewise); and promised to myself never to try upgrading *this* mainboard
again.

So sorry,

Uwe

an update is available for your BIOS (2.0). If you update to this, does

If not, could you please both specify what happened, and provide the
output of the following terminal command:
 sudo dmidecode -s bios-version sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date

Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so
posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful.

 Thank you for your understanding.

2013-08-13 Thread Matthieu Baerts
Hello and thank you for this bug report.

But if I understand well the problem, this bug is not due to LaTeXila (the
editor) but with LaTeX.
If yes, please ask your question on a forum about LaTeX ;-) (e.g.
http://tex.stackexchange.com/ ).
If no, if this bug is due to the editor, please open a new bug report.

[Bug 973270] Re: Printer does not provide REQUIRED job history.

2013-08-13 Thread John Rose
This bug is back again in Precise: intermittently and sometimes it clears by
itself. I have a Samsung SCX-472x printer. I'm using 64 bit which has cups
1.5.3-0ubuntu8. I'm interested in using the fix (detailed in the original
report). However, instead of the URI of the print queue being of the form
ipp://192.168.1.1/ipp, 'lpstat -v' shows:
device for Samsung-SCX-472x-Series:
dnssd://Samsung%20SCX-472x%20Series%20(SEC001599D2245B)._ipp._tcp.local/

What should I put in the lpadmin command to fix this?

[Bug 1181192] Re: 'Develop' tab opens three empty windows

2013-08-13 Thread Zoltan Balogh
The QtC comes from the upstream as it comes. We do not have the
competence or resource to address the truly annoying bugs in the main
QtC .

This issue is confirmed and it is really annoying, but it does not block
any key functionality or feature in the Ubuntu Touch application
development. So I would not flag it as Critical.

The issue is confirmed to be be fixed in the 2.8 version of the QtC and
we will get the fix when we move on to the 2.8 from the 2.7.1.
