[Bug 1200519] Re: service openvpn restart broken. Stop returns before finishing.

2013-08-18 Thread Avery-yates
The fix has a upload pending flag attached to it on debian.
It seems to have been accepted but is stuck in the queue.

Adding this comment to make sure it gets added to saucy before final
beta, and definitely upon release.

Friendly regards.

2013-08-18 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
Brain Fallik, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been
any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an
issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest server

** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: qemu-kvm
-

Some TCP operations receive unexpected reset (RST) packets when executed on
the guest. I can see these RST packets via
Wireshark but can't explain their source. This breaks certain (most)
networking on the guest.

I uncovered this when some 'git clone' operations failed with Broken
Pipe in the guests. I've been able to reproduce the same failures
using scp and 'svn checkout'. The failure occurs 80-90% of the time and
'svn checkout' seems to be the quickest to fail. The same operations on
  the host are always successful.

My setup is a Lucid amd64 host with two guests (Lucid and Hardy, both
i386, using kvm). Networking seems to mostly work. I can maintain
persistent ssh connections to the guest and some networking operations
from the guest (ie. ping) never fail. However, the git-clone/scp/svn-
checkout operations fail almost all the time. I've tried this with both
virtio and e1000 drivers with no difference.

This may be similar to some of the behavior reported in bug 584048 but
not the final patch referenced in comment 27. I built a custon deb
including the upstream patch for testing and it had no effect.

[Bug 1180777] Re: Windows 7 VM freeze on Ubuntu 12.04 KVM

2013-08-18 Thread Hector Perez
Hi,

I reported the #1212051 (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/qemu-
kvm/+bug/1212051) bug with Windows XP, but reading this case i think it
could be the same issue.

I connect via RDP to my windows XP VM and after a while it seems to
freeze, then, I connect via VNC an without doing anything the
communications are restored between the VM and the outside world. So i
can connect again with RDP.

Even more, if i leave an open connection with VNC (minimized because is
more slow than RDP), connecting via RDP has no trouble and no problem of
freeze (lost of communications) occurs.

f3a97, Could you do this test and tell if you have the same experience than i?,
If so, my bug is the same of this.
Thanks.

[Bug 1204456] Re: neutron ml2 plugin test failures

2013-08-18 Thread Sukhdev Kapur
Numerous ml2 tests are failing which seem to be related to this.
Following is the list of test that are failing, along with the traceback
which is for each of the failed tests:

neutron.tests.unit.ml2.test_agent_scheduler.Ml2AgentSchedulerTestCase
neutron.tests.unit.ml2.test_agent_scheduler.Ml2DhcpAgentNotifierTestCase
neutron.tests.unit.ml2.test_agent_scheduler.Ml2L3AgentNotifierTestCase

neutron.tests.unit.ml2.test_security_group.TestMl2SecurityGroups

All of these tests fail with the same traceback log. It seems like this is
related to table ml2_vlan_allocations

[Bug 1213635] Re: Near the end of the reinstallation process, the thing stopped.

2013-08-18 Thread Rickterbeek
I ordered Ubuntu to reinstall 13.04 while deleting all files, programmes etc.
while this problem occurred.
I wouldn't mind deleting the bad partitions (including all files on it: I've
made a back-up for those), though, no matter what, but is there a save way to
do this? I don't want to mess up everything even more by just trying some
things out, haha.
I really need my Windows 8 partition, so I don't think I can use the entire
drive (if that's what you mean by it)

Thanks for helping me out, by the way! And holy shit you are smart for finding
all that information out of the log files.

[Bug 881202] Re: disable/enabled hotkey broken

2013-08-18 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
FelipeAF, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any
activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If
so, could you please test for this with the latest development release
of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com
/daily-live/current/ .

If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in
the development release from a Terminal
(Applications-Accessories-Terminal), as it will automatically gather
and attach updated debug information to this report:

apport-collect -p linux replace-with-bug-number

Also, could you please test the latest upstream kernel available following
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds ? It will allow additional
upstream developers to examine the issue. Please do not test the daily folder,
but the one all the way at the bottom. Once you've tested the upstream kernel,
please comment on which kernel version specifically you tested. If this bug is
fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tags:
kernel-fixed-upstream
kernel-fixed-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER

where VERSION-NUMBER is the version number of the kernel you tested. For
example:
kernel-fixed-upstream-v3.11-rc5

This can be done by clicking on the yellow circle with a black pencil icon next
to the word Tags located at the bottom of the bug description. As well, please
remove the tag:
needs-upstream-testing

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the following tags:
kernel-bug-exists-upstream
kernel-bug-exists-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER

As well, please remove the tag:
needs-upstream-testing

Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug's
Status as Confirmed. Please let us know your results. Thank you for your
understanding.

[Bug 1204732] Re: inkscape crashed with SIGABRT in __gnu_cxx::__verbose_terminate_handler()

2013-08-18 Thread ~suv
Another (external) extension affected by this crash triggered by
description parameters with newlines only (used as visual spacer):

Original Extension:
- “Inkscape to OpenSCAD converter v5”

** Description changed:

- As advised in bug #645624 I open a new bug on this issue.
-
- I just performed a complete format and fresh installation of 11.10 and the
keys used to adjust the screen birghtness still don't work. The keys I use are :
+ In 11.10 the keys used to adjust the screen birghtness don't work:
Fn + arrow up = increase brightness
Fn + arrow down = decrease brightness
  Fn + F5 = toggle backlight

I also noted that Fn + F9, wich should toggle the wifi network adapter,
- does not work also. It look like bug #296489 but I'm not sure.

- I have still to experience the flickering effect mentioned in bug 810093

- It's always reproducible.

  Proposed solution:
The samsung-laptop module is not loaded automatically since the kernel fail
to identify the platform it run on.
I think this issue is the one described in bug #36082 on the kernel
bugtracker (can't access it atm, I think the bugzilla has yet to be restored).
The fact is that the N2320 netbook identify itself as N150/N210/N220/N230
but the three other N150, N210 and N220 identify themselves as N150/N210/N220
only.

[Bug 1213597] Re: Program jupp is unresponsive when invoked as joe .

2013-08-18 Thread Valentin Quequet
Thanks for your fast answer.

Removing empty RC file $HOME/.joerc helped: joe works again.

I don't know how I got that empty RC file, and I mistakenly put the
shame on the program itself.

Possibly, this has to do with original Joe's Own Editor I used before,
who knows?

I'm afraid this counts as don't do that then style user error.
Sure, sorry for the spurious bug report.

Kind regards,
Valentin QUEQUET

[Bug 1007542] Re: pulseaudio stops responding after plugging Logitech webcam in

2013-08-18 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
Andrei Dziahel, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been
any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an
issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development
release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ .

If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in
the development release from a Terminal
(Applications-Accessories-Terminal), as it will automatically gather
and attach updated debug information to this report:

apport-collect -p linux replace-with-bug-number

Also, could you please test the latest upstream kernel available following
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds ? It will allow additional
upstream developers to examine the issue. Please do not test the daily folder,
but the one all the way at the bottom. Once you've tested the upstream kernel,
please comment on which kernel version specifically you tested. If this bug is
fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tags:
kernel-fixed-upstream
kernel-fixed-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER

where VERSION-NUMBER is the version number of the kernel you tested. For
example:
kernel-fixed-upstream-v3.11-rc5

This can be done by clicking on the yellow circle with a black pencil icon next
to the word Tags located at the bottom of the bug description. As well, please
remove the tag:
needs-upstream-testing

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the following tags:
kernel-bug-exists-upstream
kernel-bug-exists-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER

As well, please remove the tag:
needs-upstream-testing

Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug's
Status as Confirmed. Please let us know your results. Thank you for your
understanding.

[Bug 1077386] Re: After upgrading NFS4 server to Ubuntu Quantal, krb5 mounts hang under nfs-utils 1.2.6-3ubuntu2

2013-08-18 Thread Yves Dorfsman
Another work around is to use the packages from Debian. You need both
(kernel-server depends on common):

http://packages.debian.org/wheezy/nfs-common
http://packages.debian.org/wheezy/nfs-kernel-server

They install nicely on 13.04, and solve the issue!!!

[Bug 879158] Re: REISUB fails to reboot the computer.

2013-08-18 Thread Little Girl
I'm sorry for abandoning this bug report. It never got fixed in Kubuntu
10.04. We are currently using Kubuntu 12.04 with the 3.2.0-51-generic-
pae #77-Ubuntu SMP kernel and REISUB works just fine. I didn't do all
the testing with mainline builds because this is a production machine.
My kernel version looks nothing like your example, so you might want to
do the kernel-fixed-upstream tag. Feel free to close out the bug since
it's working fine now, and let me know if there's anything else I should
do before that happens.

[Bug 567565] Re: cannot set freq 16000 to exp 0x86-: Boot Failure due to logitech Quickcam

2013-08-18 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
Bob Huber, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any
activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If
so, could you please test for this with the latest development release
of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com
/daily-live/current/ .

If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in
the development release from a Terminal
(Applications-Accessories-Terminal), as it will automatically gather
and attach updated debug information to this report:

apport-collect -p linux replace-with-bug-number

Also, could you please test the latest upstream kernel available following
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds ? It will allow additional
upstream developers to examine the issue. Please do not test the daily folder,
but the one all the way at the bottom. Once you've tested the upstream kernel,
please comment on which kernel version specifically you tested. If this bug is
fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tags:
kernel-fixed-upstream
kernel-fixed-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER

where VERSION-NUMBER is the version number of the kernel you tested. For
example:
kernel-fixed-upstream-v3.11-rc5

This can be done by clicking on the yellow circle with a black pencil icon next
to the word Tags located at the bottom of the bug description. As well, please
remove the tag:
needs-upstream-testing

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the following tags:
kernel-bug-exists-upstream
kernel-bug-exists-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER

As well, please remove the tag:
needs-upstream-testing

Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug's
Status as Confirmed. Please let us know your results. Thank you for your
understanding.

[Bug 882225] Re: external monitor no longer works

2013-08-18 Thread Steve Newcomb
I gave up on Kubuntu and on Ubuntu 11.04 quite a while ago. I'm having
no such problems now with Ubuntu Server 12.04.2 and KDE.I'm not
testing the latest development release, as you requested, because this
bug is no longer an issue for us.

Notes:

(1) I can now log into Launchpad again, as you can see. I couldn't for
a long time, which was frustrating. Thanks for the heads up,
Christopher. (And congratulations to the Launchpad team for fixing it.
One doesn't miss the water until the well runs dry.)

(2) For workstations I now use Ubuntu server 12.04.2 for original
installs and I install KDE on top of it, afterwards. The Kubuntu
installation disk just doesn't work for us; it's too rigid. The Debian-
style non-graphic installer for Ubuntu Server works pretty well, and it
is vitally important for us. I hope it's not going away; the loss of
the alternative installation disks of yore has made me nervous about
the possibility of losing the far-more-powerful Debian-style installer.

(3) I tried 13.04 and finally reverted to 12.04 because it created
problems. I don't remember what they were, though. Sorry. That was
during the time I couldn't contribute any comments to Launchpad, and I
got discouraged about participating.

[Bug 1212856] Re: Kernel Panic - Not syncing : Fatal Exception in Interrupt in 12.04.2 LTS (64-bit) in a HP Pavilion dv6 laptop

2013-08-18 Thread Ricardo Dias Marques
@jsalisbury: Hello again. I did not yet try the latest upstream kernel
(of the 3.11 series), but I got another kernel panic this evening (Sun,
18-aug-2013), at around 1H00 am (Lisbon time), using the same kernel
that I mentioned, when I opened this bug report (3.5.0-37-generic
64-bit).

Thankfully, this time the kernel panic is more informative: it points to
the likely culprit!

As you can see, in the attached photo of this new kernel panic, there's
a message line referring the Broadcom BCM4357 802.11 Hybrid Wireless
Controller, namely the following line (eth1 is my wireless/wi-fi
port):

[ 24.209511] eth1: Broadcom BCM4357 802.11 Hybrid Wireless Controller
6.20.155.1 (r326264)

With this additional information - that leads to believe that the
problem lies with the Broadcom wi-fi controller / driver - do you think
that I should still test the latest upstream kernel -OR- should I try
something else?

Thanks again.

[Bug 886500] Re: Sluggish performance after 70% of memory is in use

2013-08-18 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
abeep, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any
activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If
so, could you please test for this with the latest development release
of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com
/daily-live/current/ .

If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in
the development release from a Terminal
(Applications-Accessories-Terminal), as it will automatically gather
and attach updated debug information to this report:

apport-collect -p linux replace-with-bug-number

Also, could you please test the latest upstream kernel available following
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds ? It will allow additional
upstream developers to examine the issue. Please do not test the daily folder,
but the one all the way at the bottom. Once you've tested the upstream kernel,
please comment on which kernel version specifically you tested. If this bug is
fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tags:
kernel-fixed-upstream
kernel-fixed-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER

where VERSION-NUMBER is the version number of the kernel you tested. For
example:
kernel-fixed-upstream-v3.11-rc5

This can be done by clicking on the yellow circle with a black pencil icon next
to the word Tags located at the bottom of the bug description. As well, please
remove the tag:
needs-upstream-testing

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the following tags:
kernel-bug-exists-upstream
kernel-bug-exists-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER

As well, please remove the tag:
needs-upstream-testing

Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug's
Status as Confirmed. Please let us know your results. Thank you for your
understanding.
