[Bug 1200519] Re: service openvpn restart broken. Stop returns before finishing.
The fix has a upload pending flag attached to it on debian. It seems to have been accepted but is stuck in the queue. Adding this comment to make sure it gets added to saucy before final beta, and definitely upon release. [Bug 616064] Re: Broken networking in kvm guests with pcnet driver
Brain Fallik, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest server release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://releases.ubuntu.com/raring/ . If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in the development release from a Terminal (Applications-Accessories-Terminal), as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report: apport-collect -p linux replace-with-bug-number Also, could you please test the latest upstream kernel available following https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds ? It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Please do not test the daily folder, but the one all the way at the bottom. Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please comment on which kernel version specifically you tested. If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tags: kernel-fixed-upstream kernel-fixed-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER where VERSION-NUMBER is the version number of the kernel you tested. For example: kernel-fixed-upstream-v3.11-rc5 This can be done by clicking on the yellow circle with a black pencil icon next to the word Tags located at the bottom of the bug description. As well, please remove the tag: needs-upstream-testing If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the following tags: kernel-bug-exists-upstream kernel-bug-exists-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER As well, please remove the tag: needs-upstream-testing Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug's Status as Confirmed. Please let us know your results. Thank you for your understanding. ** Tags added: bios-outdated-105 needs-upstream-testing ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Incomplete ** Description changed: Binary package hint: qemu-kvm - Some TCP operations receive unexpected reset (RST) packets when executed on the guest. I can see these RST packets via Wireshark but can't explain their source. This breaks certain (most) networking on the guest. I uncovered this when some 'git clone' operations failed with Broken Pipe in the guests. I've been able to reproduce the same failures using scp and 'svn checkout'. The failure occurs 80-90% of the time and 'svn checkout' seems to be the quickest to fail. The same operations on the host are always successful. My setup is a Lucid amd64 host with two guests (Lucid and Hardy, both i386, using kvm). Networking seems to mostly work. I can maintain persistent ssh connections to the guest and some networking operations from the guest (ie. ping) never fail. However, the git-clone/scp/svn- checkout operations fail almost all the time. I've tried this with both virtio and e1000 drivers with no difference. This may be similar to some of the behavior reported in bug 584048 but not the final patch referenced in comment 27. I built a custon deb including the upstream patch for testing and it had no effect. - $ lsb_release -rd - Description: Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS - Release: 10.04 + BIOS: + http://www-947.ibm.com/support/entry/portal/docdisplay?lndocid=MIGR-5080935 $ apt-cache policy qemu-kvm qemu-kvm: - Installed: 0.12.3+noroms-0ubuntu9.2 - Candidate: 0.12.3+noroms-0ubuntu9.2 - Version table: - *** 0.12.3+noroms-0ubuntu9.2 0 - 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ lucid-updates/main Packages - 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status - 0.12.3+noroms-0ubuntu9 0 - 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ lucid/main Packages + Installed: 0.12.3+noroms-0ubuntu9.2 + Candidate: 0.12.3+noroms-0ubuntu9.2 + Version table: + *** 0.12.3+noroms-0ubuntu9.2 0 + 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ lucid-updates/main Packages + 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status + 0.12.3+noroms-0ubuntu9 0 + 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ lucid/main Packages ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.04 Package: kvm 1:84+dfsg-0ubuntu16+0.12.3+noroms+0ubuntu9.2 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.32-24.39-server 2.6.32.15+drm33.5 Uname: Linux 2.6.32-24-server x86_64 Architecture: amd64 Date: Tue Aug 10 16:39:24 2010 InstallationMedia: Ubuntu-Server 10.04 Lucid Lynx - Beta amd64 (20100406.1) KvmCmdLine: - UIDPID PPID CSZ RSS PSR STIME TTY TIME CMD - root 17641 1 1 2174883 1087144 1 15:42 ? 00:00:59 /usr/bin/kvm -S -M pc-0.12 -cpu qemu32 -enable-kvm -m 8192 -smp 8 -name hound-lucid -uuid 0e32438c-cb4d-1eb9-a560-f25c89c1dbf6 -chardev socket,id=monitor,path=/var/lib/libvirt/qemu/hound-lucid.monitor,server,nowait -monitor chardev:monitor -boot c -drive file=/opt/hound-lucid,if=virtio,index=0,boot=on -drive if=ide,media=cdrom,index=2 -net nic,macaddr=52:54:00:61:7e:c0,vlan=0,model=virtio,name=virtio.0 -net tap,fd=59,vlan=0,name=tap.0 -chardev
[Bug 1180777] Re: Windows 7 VM freeze on Ubuntu 12.04 KVM
Hi, I reported the #1212051 (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/qemu- kvm/+bug/1212051) bug with Windows XP, but reading this case i think it could be the same issue. I connect via RDP to my windows XP VM and after a while it seems to freeze, then, I connect via VNC an without doing anything the communications are restored between the VM and the outside world. So i can connect again with RDP. Even more, if i leave an open connection with VNC (minimized because is more slow than RDP), connecting via RDP has no trouble and no problem of freeze (lost of communications) occurs. f3a97, Could you do this test and tell if you have the same experience than i?, If so, my bug is the same of this. I ordered Ubuntu to reinstall 13.04 while deleting all files, programmes etc. while this problem occurred. I wouldn't mind deleting the bad partitions (including all files on it: I've made a back-up for those), though, no matter what, but is there a save way to do this? [Bug 882225] Re: external monitor no longer works
Steve Newcomb, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ . [Bug 1077386] Re: After upgrading NFS4 server to Ubuntu Quantal, krb5 mounts hang under nfs-utils 1.2.6-3ubuntu2
Another work around is to use the packages from Debian. [Bug 879158] Re: REISUB fails to reboot the computer.
I'm sorry for abandoning this bug report. It never got fixed in Kubuntu 10.04. We are currently using Kubuntu 12.04 with the 3.2.0-51-generic- pae #77-Ubuntu SMP kernel and REISUB works just fine. I didn't do all the testing with mainline builds because this is a production machine. My kernel version looks nothing like your example, so you might want to do the kernel-fixed-upstream tag. Feel free to close out the bug since it's working fine now, and let me know if there's anything else I should do before that happens. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/879158 Title: REISUB fails to reboot the computer. [Bug 882225] Re: external monitor no longer works
I gave up on Kubuntu and on Ubuntu 11.04 quite a while ago. I'm having no such problems now with Ubuntu Server 12.04.2 and KDE.I'm not testing the latest development release, as you requested, because this bug is no longer an issue for us. Notes: (1) I can now log into Launchpad again, as you can see. I couldn't for a long time, which was frustrating. Thanks for the heads up, Christopher. (And congratulations to the Launchpad team for fixing it. One doesn't miss the water until the well runs dry.) (2) For workstations I now use Ubuntu server 12.04.2 for original installs and I install KDE on top of it, afterwards. The Kubuntu installation disk just doesn't work for us; it's too rigid. The Debian- style non-graphic installer for Ubuntu Server works pretty well, and it is vitally important for us. I hope it's not going away; the loss of the alternative installation disks of yore has made me nervous about the possibility of losing the far-more-powerful Debian-style installer. (3) I tried 13.04 and finally reverted to 12.04 because it created problems. I don't remember what they were, though. Sorry. That was during the time I couldn't contribute any comments to Launchpad, and I got discouraged about participating. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/882225 Title: external monitor no longer works To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/882225/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1212856] Re: Kernel Panic - Not syncing : Fatal Exception in Interrupt in 12.04.2 LTS (64-bit) in a HP Pavilion dv6 laptop
@jsalisbury: Hello again. I did not yet try the latest upstream kernel (of the 3.11 series), but I got another kernel panic this evening (Sun, 18-aug-2013), at around 1H00 am (Lisbon time), using the same kernel that I mentioned, when I opened this bug report (3.5.0-37-generic 64-bit). Thankfully, this time the kernel panic is more informative: it points to the likely culprit! As you can see, in the attached photo of this new kernel panic, there's a message line referring the Broadcom BCM4357 802.11 Hybrid Wireless Controller, namely the following line (eth1 is my wireless/wi-fi port): [ 24.209511] eth1: Broadcom BCM4357 802.11 Hybrid Wireless Controller 6.20.155.1 (r326264) With this additional information - that leads to believe that the problem lies with the Broadcom wi-fi controller / driver - do you think that I should still test the latest upstream kernel -OR- should I try something else? Thanks again. ** Attachment added: Photo of Kernel Panic that happened today (18-aug-2013, 1H00 am, Lisbon Time) - pointing to Broadcom Wireless Driver https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1212856/+attachment/3777062/+files/2013-08-18%2000.57.26.jpg -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1212856 Title: Kernel Panic - Not syncing : Fatal Exception in Interrupt in 12.04.2 LTS (64-bit) in a HP Pavilion dv6 laptop To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1212856/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Anton, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com /daily-live/current/ .
