[Bug 1219695] Re: [FFe] Qt 5.1.1
Yes, sorry for not yet updating this earlier, too many things in flight. The amount of unfixed regressions and so many other things to land has lead us to (unfortunately) postpone Qt 5.1 until t-series opens. [Bug 1009312] Re: GPU loads unreliably, possible kernel timeout
So I've been busy, but I have some more useful info. I've confirmed the bug's still in both version 3.5.0-40 (32 bit) and 3.2.0-53 (64 bit) of the Ubuntu kernel. However, while I've been busy, I had the idea of just splicing the changes from Xiao's patch (which we found in the last bisect) into the mainline kernel before doing a reverse bisect on commits before that one. After a couple of false starts, I was able to isolate a prior patch clearly (I tested it 10 times in various boot-up situations, and it always worked). Apparently the magic patch was a merge by Linus: 99c6bcf46d2233d33e441834e958ed0bc22b190a by Linus Torvalds I honestly have no clue why this patch would be the earlier necessary one, and my gut feeling is that it means this bug is very tangled and subtle. I'm both busy and a little out of my league to contact the kernel mailing-list directly, but while running the bisection, I came across the name Rafael J. Wysocki a couple of times. My 2nd reverse bisection actually uses a patch by him as the earliest commit because I originally zeroed in on his commit as the next critical one. It was only after testing over 6 or 7 boots that I confirmed a bad session. Anyways, when searching for his commits in the git log, a recent one (60f75b8e97daf4a39790a20d962cb861b9220af5) jumped out since it sounded particularly relevant. It specifically handles interaction problems between PCI bridges and ACPI, then mentions graphics adapter detection as a major justification. [Bug 1027299] Re: p11-kit breaking wine on 64 bit: Wrong ELFCLASS
I am running Wine 1.7.1, on Linux Mint 15 x64. I still get the error. I was trying to get past the error "/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/pkcs11/gnome- keyring-pkcs11.so: /usr/lib/i386-linux->gnu/pkcs11/gnome-keyring- pkcs11.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or >directory" So I made this link "sudo ln -s /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/pkcs11/gnome- keyring-pkcs11.so gnome-keyring-pkcs11.so" in the usr/lib/i386-linux- gnu/pkcs11 directory. The I ran my program which is not office or that other thing. The I get the error about ELFclass, which I can only assume it from trying to access a 64bit .so file from a i386 directory. [Bug 1227460] Re: crash towards end of installation process
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Reviewing your log files attached to this bug report it seems that there is a problem with the disk to which you are trying to install Ubuntu. I'd recommend performing a back up of your existing operating system and then investigating the situation. Measures you might take include checking cable connections for your disks and using software tools to investigate the health of your hardware. Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode. To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1227425/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package. [Bug 1184165] Re: 03f0:1205 Scanner does not work: Simple scan gives a device busy error
Christopher M. Penalver, problem! I clicked on the link. It took me to a site to download images. I chose the 13.10 Desktop Image, PC (Intel x86). Created DVD from ISO image and rebooted to the DVD. It did not give me a chance to test it as live DVD, so I went ahead and chose "comtinue", but without checking "install 3rd party software" as instructed by you. Minor issue: explanations under choices were not readeable, just blank squares in place of characters. Apparently the display driver could not render the font. Created new secondary partition but without separate /boot partition and proceeded with installation. Minor issue: I got confused by "Ubuntu One" (what is it, why email, what register?), but went ahead as a good soldier. Instalaltion proceeded, but got stuck at the end: "copying installation logs..." I finally gave up and pulled the plug. When I rebooted grub was messed up, lost entry for my trusted old FC3 installation on the other hard disk. But I hope I can fix that. Booted into 13.10, but to a completely unfamiliar desktop and an extremely slow system. Finally I found the way to shut down the system normally, without pulling the plug. After that I rebooted into 13.04 whose grub entry was not lost. Now I can write this report. So we are still at STEP ONE. Can you please help? btw, what is PPA? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1184165 Title: 03f0:1205 Scanner does not work: Simple scan gives a device busy error To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1184165/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1040053] Re: [Dell XPS 15 L502X] no HDMI support with dual grafic card in Ubuntu 12.04LTS with 3.2.0-29-generic
asgard2, ok. So to start from the beginning, in Precise if you use Bumblebee, it's not supported by Ubuntu, as it's not in the Precise repository, but a PPA. With this in mind, your Precise lspci showed your nvidia card wasn't even working, and everything seemed to be flowing through your Intel card (probably due to Bumblebee not working right or you had nvidia card disabled in BIOS). Despite that, just to clarify on your Saucy test, all you did was have both graphics cards enabled in BIOS, no Bumblebee, and was relying on only nouveau, correct? [Bug 1227345] Re: Coding Russian symbols in Ubuntu One application on Mac OS
Could you perhaps include either more of an explanation of what exactly the problem is, or we would certainly welcome a screenshot if the issue could be shown to us that way. As it stands, it's a bit hard to discern what the issue is. We will take a look at seeing if it can be resolved, but first either a descriptive example (screenshot, picture, pastebin), or a comprehensive explanation with some steps needed to reproduce the issue would need to be added so that we can understand how to best approach the issue. Ubuntu pastebin can be accessed at paste.ubuntu.com if you wish to use it, and as always, feel free to contact me through launchpad or directly shoot me an email at qbal...@indiansprings.org. ** Changed in: ubuntu Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1227345 Title: Coding Russian symbols in Ubuntu One application on Mac OS To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1227345/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1225753] Re: [ASUS K46CB(S46CB)] some functional keys and wifi led indicator
Dmitry, because each of the problems mentioned would be unrelated to one another (i.e. all problems didn't stop working simultaneously due to one commit) this would need to be broken down to focus on one issue per report, to fix efficiently. Hence, this report will only be focusing only on how Fn+F2 doesn't toggle the WiFi LED indicator in Raring, Saucy, or any mainline kernel you previously tested. With this in mind, has Fn+F2 ever worked in either Raring with a prior Ubuntu kernel, or a release prior to Raring (ex. I think that problem is that you can't use both profiles simultaneously because pulse always switches HFP when I select mic and doesn't stay in A2DP for audio sink.
