[Bug 1231459] Re: Inconsistency detected by ld.so: dl-close.c: 759: _dl_close: Assertion `map-l_init_called' failed!
Stefan, I've prepared packages that should fix the problem available at https://launchpad.net/~hartmans/+archive/ubuntu-fixes that page includes instructions on how to add the archive to your system. After you do that please update at least libgssapi-krb5-2 and let us know whether it fixes the problem. Ubuntu review team, it turns out that the debian/saucy patch does not apply to precise. I've linked a branch of a proposed precise package. Let me know if there's anything else I can do to assist the process. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to krb5 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1231459 Title: Inconsistency detected by ld.so: dl-close.c: 759: _dl_close: Assertion `map-l_init_called' failed! [Bug 1235681] [NEW] squid3 always run with -N option, incompatible with SMP option (workers)
Public bug reported: Hi, I switch to Ubuntu 13.10 to enjoy a version of Squid more recent than 3.1. (it's 3.3 in 13.10) My currrent version is 3.3.8-1ubuntu3 One of the reasons for switching was support for SMP (Squid3 running multiple instances of itself in a native way). However, even if you put workers 8 (for example) in /etc/squid3/squid.conf, this option is not enable because Squid3 is always started with the -N option (no daemon mode), which is incompatible with the workers option. See http://www.squid-cache.org/Doc/config/workers/ for details. One option is to remove the -N option in /etc/init/squid3. This option could be put in /etc/default/squid3 for people who really want it. However, this is just a quick and dirty work-around, as after this change, stopping the service with service squid3 stop no longer works. You have to manually kill the squid-coord-X process. Therefore, extra rework is needed in /etc/init/squid3. That's all I have for the moment. Better workarounds and solutions are welcome! I'll post more if I have any. Cheers, Michael. ** Affects: squid3 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to squid3 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1235681 Title: squid3 always run with -N option, incompatible with SMP option (workers) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/squid3/+bug/1235681/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1235575] [NEW] clock is missing and settings locked
Public bug reported: After installing the beta of saucy, I realized that no clock is displayed in the top, right corner. So I checked the time and date settings. There the display clock option is set. An other problem is that the time and date settings are locked. Both can be seen on the attached screenshot. Expected behaviour: 1. The clock is displayed in the top, right corner. 2. The time an date settings are editable. Re: [Bug 1217189] Re: Buffer I/O error on device zram0
Hence why I said I/O errors on *write*. If the block dev layer reports an error to the VM on page-out, it knows the data hasn't been correctly written. I'm not sure zram actually allocates the whole amount of memory it's configured to use, initially: steved@xubuntu:~$ free total used free sharedbuffers cached Mem: 20507961473456 577340 0 254232 696144 -/+ buffers/cache: 5230801527716 Swap: 2975088 208482954240 steved@xubuntu:~$ swapon -s FilenameTypeSizeUsed Priority /dev/zram0 partition 1025396 20848 100 /dev/mapper/lvg2-swap partition 1949692 0 -1 At the very least, free seems to know it's cache memory. Don't know whether that's merely a presentation thing, need to look at the code. Anyway, the SNR here is getting awful, and I don't want to contribute to it. Anyone who wants to can contact me privately via LP. S. On Fri, Oct 04, 2013 at 03:28:18PM -, Kenneth Parker wrote: Mel, the reason I do NOT believe this is a duplicate of # 1215513 is that many get error messages (including I/O errors in some cases) WITHOUT a hang. But any time I see I/O error on any disk, whether hardware, ram or simulated [i.e. network], there's a chance of data corruption, even without crashes. Please reconsider. Steve, you also mention I/O error messages. Once again, that could corrupt data, the WORST TYPE of error, in my NOT SO humble opinion. (Think about it: If SWAP data comes back in, and your bank balance changes from 5000 to 500,000, you might THINK you have more in your account than you do, causing mishaps in International Finance. [Example used, due to how badly your life could be hurt]. My personal solution is to come up with ONLY a Root Text console [yes, Ubuntu users aren't SUPPOSED to become real Root, but I've been doing this sort of thing since the 1990's], rmmod zram [with prejudice, if possible], and I'm prepared to do a permanent rename of the correct name of the module, as soon as I get around to it. [Visions of Round Tuits...] A point I made earlier: Even if a SWAP partition is NOT made out of /dev/zram0, part of RAM is being reserved for nothing. Re: [Bug 1234946] [NEW] Size mismatch caused by writing wrong data
Hi Eduard, all installs use apt-cacher-ng 0.7.18-1. Will run it with debug mode on when I find a spare hour. Cheers! On Saturday, October 5, 2013, Eduard Bloch wrote: Well... could you tell me (exactly) which version of acng is in use there? -- You received this bug notification because you are subscribed to the bug report. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1234946 Title: Size mismatch caused by writing wrong data Status in “apt-cacher-ng” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: 5-15% of packages downloaded through apt-cacher-ng are corrupt with a Size mismatch or Hash Sum mismatch error, reported by the client. Apparently, the corrupted files on the cache host in /var/cache/apt- cacher-ng are not corrupt but contain a different package than the filename suggests. For example, python-apt_0.8.3ubuntu7.1_amd64.deb is in fact xz-lzma_5.1.1alpha+20110809-3 Not sure how to debug this further. I use apt-cacher-ng on various hosts on various isolated environments. Some apt-cacher-ng installs yield a higher size mismatch frequency than others, which might indicate a race condition. The ones with lower error frequency have higher uplink speeds and higher cpu speeds. [Bug 1235602] [NEW] virt-manager cannot create pool with active logical volumes
Public bug reported: When I install a whole new system with ubuntu 12.04 disk I setup libvirt-bin and virt-manager to create a virtualization server with this software. But later I got an error when want to manipulate with lvm libvirt pool througth virt-manager. I deleted pool for check if an error of mispelled configuration of a pool. But this nothing to help me to resolution a problem when after I want to create a new one with an active lvm volume group. Which is also used as system volume group. I mean that I has a one big lvm group over raid1 mdadm, which name is bigraid. And This volume group has the following logical volumes: 1. Host server root filesystem (/dev/bigraid/serverrootfs) 2. Host server /var/log filesystem (/dev/bigraid/serverroot_var_log) 3. Virtual machine 1 filesystem (/dev/bigraid/vm1) 4. Virtual machine 2 filesystem (...) and etc. I cannot deactivate a volume group on a production server for let libvirt using some logical volumes for its needs. I think this is not correctly behaviour. I can create or/and delete a poll with an unactive volume group normally. I have another volume group at other mdadm raid. I can manipulate it without problems. Therefore I decided to report an error at launchupad. This error occurs when i want to create a pool via virt-manager: Error creating pool: Could not start storage pool: internal error Child process (/sbin/vgchange -aln bigraid) unexpected exit status 5: Can't deactivate volume group bigraid with 11 open logical volume(s) Traceback (most recent call last): File /usr/share/virt-manager/virtManager/asyncjob.py, line 45, in cb_wrapper callback(asyncjob, *args, **kwargs) File /usr/share/virt-manager/virtManager/createpool.py, line 482, in _async_pool_create poolobj = self._pool.install(create=True, meter=meter, build=build) File /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/virtinst/Storage.py, line 744, in install build=build, autostart=False) File /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/virtinst/Storage.py, line 489, in install raise RuntimeError(errmsg) RuntimeError: Could not start storage pool: internal error Child process (/sbin/vgchange -aln bigraid) unexpected exit status 5: Can't deactivate volume group bigraid with 11 open logical volume(s) ** Affects: libvirt (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1235602 Title: virt-manager cannot create pool with active logical volumes To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libvirt/+bug/1235602/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
