[Bug 216847] Re: sshd will not start at boot if ListenAddress is set, because network interface is not yet up
I tested on 12.10. Unfortunately the solution from Claus interferes with the network manager. On my 12.10 system I wasn't able to handle the eth0 by the network manager any more. As I don't like arvitrary sleep times, I figured out a solution just changing the start on line in /etc/init/ssh. It works very well for me in 12.10.. I add this patch in a moment. It would be fine if someone would test it and confirm it. Users of other ubuntu versions might have to change the line accordingly. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to the bug report. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/216847 Title: sshd will not start at boot if ListenAddress is set, because network interface is not yet up To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openssh/+bug/216847/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1181790] Re: looking in /usr/lib/cgi-bin instead of /etc/awstats
I've just experienced this same problem; awstats was correctly looking at my conf file /etc/awstats/awstats.my.domain.conf and then it stopped working -- turning on -debug=2 (easier than strace!) shows that awstats started looking in /usr/lib/cgi-bin for the conf file. I'd changed various things about my awstats conf, so I don't know what I did that tripped the problem. I have worked around it by explicitly specifying the whole path to the conf file, so awstats -config /etc/awstats/awstats.my.domain.conf -update, which works. Quite why -config my.domain now does not work is baffling. I can confirm that the problem is not about user permissions on files: awstats is explicitly looking in /usr/lib/cgi-bin for conf files, and I run the command as root. ** Changed in: awstats (Ubuntu) Status: Expired = New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to awstats in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1181790 Title: looking in /usr/lib/cgi-bin instead of /etc/awstats To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/awstats/+bug/1181790/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1244026] Re: curtin block-meta selects first entry in unordered list
** Description changed: + == Begin SRU Info == + [Description] + Very stupidly, curtin obtained a list of unused devices in a dict where the key was the device shortname, and then selected the first device in that list to install to: + devices = {'sda': {'entry1': 'value1'}, 'sdb': {'entry2': 'value2'}} + selected = [f for f in devices][0] + + The problem there is that the dict is not sorted. + The solution to correctly implement this simplistic heuristic is: + devices = {'sda': {'entry1': 'value1'}, 'sdb': {'entry2': 'value2'}} + selected = sorted([f for f in devices])[0] + + [Impact] + By default, installs via curtin to a system with more than one disk were not reliably selecting the first disk for installation as intended. Selecting the wrong disk resulted in system not booting on reboot after installation. + + [Test Case] + Deploy a system with curtin via MAAS and see it fail because it installs to /dev/sdd or /dev/sde (in the case there were 4 or 5 disks). + + After fix, the install will be done to /dev/sda. + + [Regression Potential] + Very low. curtin would correctly install the target device only randomly with the chance going down with each additional disk on the system. This correctly implements the simplistic behavior of pick the first available device. + + == End SRU Info == + curtin block-meta gets a list of unused devices as a dict. turns the dict to a list and then takes [0] but that is unsorted. === modified file 'curtin/commands/block_meta.py' --- curtin/commands/block_meta.py 2013-09-17 00:46:22 + +++ curtin/commands/block_meta.py 2013-10-24 03:07:37 + @@ -57,7 +57,7 @@ - using first found) - available = [f for f in devices - if block.is_valid_device(f)] + using first found) + available = [f for f in devices + if block.is_valid_device(f)] -target = available[0] +target = sorted(available)[0] - LOG.warn(mode is 'simple'. multiple devices given. using '%s' - (first available), target) - else: + LOG.warn(mode is 'simple'. multiple devices given. using '%s' + (first available), target) + else: -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to curtin in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1244026 Title: curtin block-meta selects first entry in unordered list To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/cloud-archive/+bug/1244026/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1243403] Re: Upgrade from qemu 1.0+noroms-0ubuntu14.11 fails
Hello Serge, I am sorry! I put this bug in on the saucy package, because I believe it is what the cloud archive repository is using to provide openstack packages for precise. I should have been more clear, and I apologize if this bug is filed against the wrong project -- the packaging situation for cloud archive confuses me. In any case, I am using the openstack grizzly precise release in cloud archive, testing upgrades to the havana precise release in cloud archive. The issue is easily reproduced by installing qemu from grizzly cloud archive, adding a havana source, and performing apt-get upgrade. Re: [Bug 1243403] Re: Upgrade from qemu 1.0+noroms-0ubuntu14.11 fails
Hi, If this only affected the cloud archive updates then the bug would probably belong against the cloud archive itself (if that exists as a project), since normally you must update from p to q to r to s, which works fine. However it IS valid against the ubuntu qemu packages because, once trusty is released, LTS-to-LTS updates from precise to trusty would break. I've just pushed the fix to trusty. I think it's SRU-able to saucy because fixing it with a delta in the cloud archive would be more maintenance work later as more bugs get SRUd. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to qemu in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1243403 Title: Upgrade from qemu 1.0+noroms-0ubuntu14.11 fails To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/qemu/+bug/1243403/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 930962] Re: dhcp3-server reports many bad udp checksums to syslog using virtio NIC
This issue also affects the debian LXC template in Ubuntu (lxc 1.0.0~alpha1-0ubuntu11). If I create a Debian jessie container on Ubuntu Saucy, then the container cannot DHCP. Workaround: sudo iptables -t mangle -A POSTROUTING -o lxcbr0 -p udp --dport bootpc -j CHECKSUM --checksum-fill It looks like the Debian bug is http://bugs.debian.org/cgi- bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=717217 Is there any way a workaround could be applied to lxc in Ubuntu - perhaps something specific to the Debian template? I wonder if the template could arrange for an iptables inside the container to mangle the incoming DHCP packet or something. ** Also affects: lxc (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Bug watch added: Debian Bug tracker #717217 http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=717217 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to dhcp3 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/930962 Title: dhcp3-server reports many bad udp checksums to syslog using virtio NIC To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/dhcp3/+bug/930962/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
