[Bug 1250388] [NEW] maas-ipmi-autodetect-tool fails to detect IPMI on midway

2013-11-12 Thread Robie Basak
Public bug reported:

maas1.4+bzr1693+dfsg-0ubuntu2.2 on Saucy

It appears to me that this would affect Highbank, Midway and anything
else that does local IPMI detection using this snippet on Saucy.

During enlistment:

Traceback (most recent call last):
File /tmp/sh.6FtsiE/bin/maas-ipmi-autodetect-tool, line 44, in module
main()
File /tmp/sh.6FtsiE/bin/maas-ipmi-autodetect-tool, line 33, in main
(status, ipmi_version) = detect_ipmi()
  File /tmp/sh.6FtsiE/bin/maas-ipmi-autodetect-tool, line 18, in detect_ipmi
found = glob.glob(/dev/ipmi[0-9])
NameError: global name 'glob' is not defined

Looks like this was fixed in upstream trunk in revision 1717. This may
need a Saucy SRU.

Workaround: add import glob to /etc/maas/templates/commissioning-user-
data/snippets/maas_ipmi_autodetect_tool.py.

[Bug 1250390] [NEW] No published Saucy armhf ephemeral images

2013-11-12 Thread Robie Basak
Public bug reported:

maas.ubuntu.com/images does not have a Saucy armhf image.

From what I can gather, this may be because of an image size overflow
due to too many kernels. Cloud images now use generic-lpae, and the
ephemeral image generator is trying to add -highbank and -generic and
running out of space.

For Saucy, we need -generic only, as the current consensus (this may
change) is that -generic is sufficient even on LPAE systems for
ephemerals.

[Bug 1210253] Re: With Havana 2 installed, Launching horizon UI results in the error NameError: name 'Dashboard' is not defined

2013-11-12 Thread Radomir Dopieralski
I can still see the contradictory code in horizon/__init__.py. Should that be
fixed too?
I mean, if we decide that we do require Dashboard, Panel and PanelGroup, then
maybe we should remove the try-except and warnings? If we decide that they are
optional after all, then we should remove the asserts?

Also, why asserts, when using __all__ also makes flake8 shut up and
actually is the idiomatic way of telling Python what those modules
should me exposed.

I don't know how to transform virt-manager's configuration to QEMU's

Matt, what version of the juju client are you running ? juju version
will tell you. I think you are using 1.16.0, you should use a newer
version.

[Bug 1250340] [NEW] fwts git head FTBFS in trusty

2013-11-12 Thread Keng-Yu Lin
Public bug reported:

automake: warnings are treated as errors
src/Makefile.am:21: warning: source file 'acpi/ac_adapter/ac_adapter.c' is in a
subdirectory,
src/Makefile.am:21: but option 'subdir-objects' is disabled
automake: warning: possible forward-incompatibility.
automake: At least a source file is in a subdirectory, but the 'subdir-objects'
automake: automake option hasn't been enabled. For now, the corresponding
output
automake: object file(s) will be placed in the top-level directory. However,
automake: this behaviour will change in future Automake versions: they will
automake: unconditionally cause object files to be placed in the same
subdirectory
automake: of the corresponding sources.
automake: You are advised to start using 'subdir-objects' option throughout your
automake: project, to avoid future incompatibilities.

[Bug 1250321] Re: Ubuntu 13.10 + 14.04 Catastrophic Kernel Panics (but not related to the kernel?)

2013-11-12 Thread Ubuntu Foundations Team Bug Bot
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a
specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu
in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source
packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs
about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your
bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage.
You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1250321/+editstatus and add the
package name in the text box next to the word Package.

[This is an automated message. I apologize if it reached you
inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.]

[Bug 1249794] Re: nvidia fails to install

2013-11-12 Thread Jürgen
The problem could be solved.

The steps described in various tutorials (remove all existing nvidia-
packages, install headers etc.) didn't help even reinstalling.

I realized that copying my system to a new disk (ssd :-) ) was
uncomplete. After fixing that everything worked again.

I don't now what was missing maybe a an apt-get install build-essential
would have also helped.

There are scattered reports of people with the same problem with various
debian and ubuntu versions that might have the same reason.

[Bug 1248255] [NEW] Saucy 13.10 fglrx only works when installed from console

Ubuntu 13.10

If fglrx is installed from Software Updates Additional Drivers, upon
reboot I get a black screen with a cursor (cursor freezes if I try to
move it around) after getting past the login screen.

I did Alt+F1, purged fglrx (sudo apt-get remove --purge fglrx fglrx_*
fglrx-amdcccle* fglrx-dev*), rebooted (open source driver was working),
and installed fglrx from the console (sudo apt-get install fglrx fglrx-

[Bug 1250037] Re: /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libc.so and libpthread is ascii, not ELF

2013-11-12 Thread JPTTEST
Yes, it's a linker file but what does that mean? And why isn't it a bug?
Is there any way I can solve it?

[Bug 1250037] Re: /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libc.so and libpthread is ascii, not ELF

2013-11-12 Thread JPTTEST
ok. found an explanation:
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/5554343/understanding-ldd-output :

---
First success is /usr/lib/libc.so which itself is not a library, but a linker
script (text file).

So, script /usr/lib/libc.so is found earlier than actual library, and
this script says, what file will be linked, libc.so.6 in this case.

In more common case, lib___.so is symlink to some version like lib___.so.3.4.5
and there is SONAME field filled in lib___.so.3.4.5 which says to ld link not
to lib___.so but to lib___.so.3.4 which is another symlink to lib___.so.3.4.5.
The .3.4 name will be recorded in NEEDED field of binary.
---

But this is for linking. I'm having problems on runtime. So is this a
problem with the ADT binaries? Should I try to compile them myself?

[Bug 1184262] Re: times out too early, stuck in PrepareForSleep, causing network and other services to not resume

2013-11-12 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
This bug was fixed in the package systemd-shim - 4-0ubuntu1

---
systemd-shim (4-0ubuntu1) trusty; urgency=low

  * New upstream release:
- Flush bus before exiting on idle to avoid a race where a message is
queued up but not yet sent. (LP: #1184262, part 1)
- Adjust the definition of inactivity to be 10 seconds after done
processing the last request instead of 10 seconds after we started.
This matters for long-running tasks like suspend. (LP: #1184262, part 2)
- Don't exit-on-idle while shutting down to avoid losing the flag that
tells us we are in the middle of a shutdown. (Necessary, but not
  sufficient for LP #1211514)
