[Bug 903752] Re: [MIR] sssd

2013-11-20 Thread Didier Roche
Ok, I tried to seed it again, and I was thinking the seed would grab samba4
which is stuck in proposed, but it seems not:
  o samba4: libdcerpc-dev libdcerpc-server-dev libdcerpc-server0 libdcerpc0
libgensec-dev libgensec0 libndr-dev libndr-standard-dev libndr-standard0
libndr0 libparse-pidl-perl libregistry-dev libregistry0
libsamba-credentials-dev libsamba-credentials0 libsamba-hostconfig-dev
libsamba-hostconfig0 libsamba-policy-dev libsamba-policy0 libsamba-util-dev
libsamba-util0 libsamdb-dev libsamdb0 libsmbclient-raw-dev libsmbclient-raw0
libtorture-dev samba-dsdb-modules samba4-dev
[Reverse-Depends: Rescued from samba4, libdcerpc-server-dev, libdcerpc0,
libgensec0, libndr-standard0, libndr0, libregistry-dev, libsamba-credentials0,
libsamba-policy-dev, libsamba-policy0, libsmbclient-raw-dev, samba4-dev,
sssd-ad]
[Reverse-Recommends: libsamdb0]
[Reverse-Build-Depends: sssd]

Can you just give a sign when the transition ends and then, I'll do the
third seeding (and hopefully working) seeding ;)

[Bug 903752] Re: [MIR] sssd

2013-11-20 Thread Timo Aaltonen
forget samba4, it's obsoleted by the new samba :)

samba, OTOH is stuck in proposed for other reasons, mainly bug #1250463
blocking it (AIUI) from moving out of proposed. But sssd got built
against samba-dev which was right.

not quite the same, but juju environments also have a default group that
this these rules can be applied to once per env.

[Bug 1235231] Re: plymouth loses output to /dev/console (such as ci-info: messages)

2013-11-20 Thread Steve Langasek
I think the cloud-init *binary package* should add these .override files
as conffiles. While the issue of messages going missing may affect
systems other than cloud images, it's precisely the cloud images where
a) plymouth adds no value, and b) the impact of messages going missing
from the console is highest.

And dpkg-divert is not the right tool for this. The .override files
should be created in the postinst, and removed in postrm (when called
with $1 == remove || $1 == purge); but this should absolutely not
involve dpkg-divert.

[Bug 1235231] Re: plymouth loses output to /dev/console (such as ci-info: messages)

2013-11-20 Thread Scott Moser
Steve,

Do you think this can be fixed in plymouth correctly?

If not, and you still would recommend .override files which of the
following solutions would you think is best (or another you suggest):

A.) 'disabler' package built by 'plymouth' source package (sugg name:
plymouth-disabler)
B.) 'disabler' package built by 'cloud-init' source package (sugg name:
cloud-init-plymouth-disabler)

Then, which mechanism for disabling would you think is the best solution:
1.) cloud-init installation of .override files via dpkg-divert in postinstall
script
2.) cloud-init-plymouth-disabler package built by cloud-init

Personally, it seems to me that 'A' is better than 'B', but I completely
defer to your judgement on 1 or 2.

I'd like to get this in as soon as possible in trusty.

Steve,
Why would you suggest cloud-init as a [source] package for this?
The fact that plymouth is broken is completely unrelated to cloud-init or
ubuntu use as a guest at all.

Wouldn't it be better to put this package closer to plymouth, so it is
more likely to be updated if ever needed?

[Bug 1210253] Re: With Havana 2 installed, Launching horizon UI results in the error NameError: name 'Dashboard' is not defined

2013-11-20 Thread Victor Morales
I'm not sure if this is too late but I was getting the same error
everytime that I started an instance of the horizon layer. I discovered
that I was using the version 1.6 of Django and it has some classes
deprecated(https://docs.djangoproject.com/en/dev/internals/deprecation/),
specially django.conf.urls.defaults. My workaround was to downgrade to
1.5 version and finally works.

After entering a appsocket 9100 cups turns to a neverending search for the

destroy the wiki information. There are also these lines in dmesg, when trying

Reason for cups to read the passphrase for encryption, maybe NSA because

RE: [Bug 1101657] Re: Microsoft 7000 My Favourite Keys 1-5 not working, only working on 4000 (of which I have both)

2013-11-20 Thread j.p.hillier
Hi

Yeah I will gather everything needed to run the tests. I have everything
on a daily rolling back up so I can always re install 12.10 as that has
worked the longest without any re install so far so i kinda left it and
was going to upgrade soon.

I will get back to you directly after I have upgraded to the new version of
UBUNTU and the latest kernel. At the moment I am fixing my bathroom and have no
bath/shower as the floor boards have rotted and installing a new bathroom suit
at the same time. so it might be a couple of weeks before i do the tests with
UBUNTU

Subject: [Bug 1101657] Re: Microsoft 7000 My Favourite Keys 1-5 not working,
only working on 4000 (of which I have both)

j.p.hillier, could you please confirm this issue exists with the latest
development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ . If the issue remains,
could you please run the following command in the development release
from a Terminal (Applications-Accessories-Terminal), as it will
automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this
 report:

 apport-collect -p linux replace-with-bug-number

Also, could you please test the latest upstream kernel available (not the
daily folder) following https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds ? It
will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue.Once you've
tested the upstream kernel, please comment on which kernel version
specifically you tested. If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please
 add the following tags:
 kernel-fixed-upstream
 kernel-fixed-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER

where VERSION-NUMBER is the version number of the kernel you tested. For
 example:
 kernel-fixed-upstream-v3.12

This can be done by clicking on the yellow circle with a black pencil icon
next to the word Tags located at the bottom of the bug description. As well,
 please remove the tag:
 needs-upstream-testing

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the following tags:
 kernel-bug-exists-upstream
 kernel-bug-exists-upstream-VERSION-NUMBER

As well, please remove the tag:
 needs-upstream-testing

Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug's
Status as Confirmed. Please let us know your results. Thank you for your
 understanding.

(In reply to Francesco D\'Amore from comment #66)
 No.
In order to make manu working in Eclipse Kepler and Ubuntu 13.10, a just
changed some things in the launcher.

But this work around seems don't work if a set SWT_GT3=1.

Can you describe your workaround? Or perhaps a link to it? I might look
into fixing this menu issue soon and any information is useful.

All these errors are very annoying for Ubuntu users... Eclipse appear very
unusable. Today it crashed five times in three hours!

So far, everything as led me to believe that this particular crash has
been fixed in webkit and Ubuntu will get an updated version in Ubuntu
14.04. I have applied the fix locally on my 13.10 and haven't seen the
crash since. I would attach the .deb files here but I don't think this
would sit well with Eclipse policy since they are not EPL (?).

Test project

Grant, could you try this test project and see if you are seeing the
crash? I can get it in a couple of seconds. Steps to reproduce:

Using 4.4 I20131119-0800, Ubuntu 13.10 64 bit

1. Open Test Browser view
2. Maximize the view (Double-click on the tab)
3. Move around the mouse a bit inside the view (optional?)

Sometimes I get the DumpRenderTreeSupportGtk crash, sometimes the
webkitWebViewRegisterForIconNotification but when I open the core file
with gdb they both show the back trace with the
updateAdjustmentsFromScrollbars call.

Unfortunately, I'm running the 4.4 stream and got the crash multiple
times after the SWT fix, although it didn't manifest itself for a few
days. Then I applied the webkit fix and everything was fine.

I also tested without the webkit fix when I upgraded to Ubuntu 13.10 and
at that time SWT was switched to use GTK3 by default and I got the crash

[Bug 968308]

2013-11-20 Thread francesco
No.
In order to make manu working in Eclipse Kepler and Ubuntu 13.10, a just
changed some things in the launcher.

But this work around seems don't work if a set SWT_GT3=1.

All these errors are very annoying for Ubuntu users... Eclipse appear
very unusable. Today it crashed five times in three hours!

In order to (In reply to Marc-Andre Laperle from comment #65)
(In reply to Francesco D\'Amore from comment #64)
In ubuntu 13.10, if a set SWT_GTK3=1 as global variable, the menus of
  Eclipse disappear.

Have you tried undefining UBUNTU_MENUPROXY? like UBUNTU_MENUPROXY=

[Bug 968308]

2013-11-20 Thread Kaloyan Raev
(In reply to Marc-Andre Laperle from comment #68)
So far, everything as led me to believe that this particular crash has been
fixed in webkit and Ubuntu will get an updated version in Ubuntu 14.04. I
have applied the fix locally on my 13.10 and haven't seen the crash since. I
would attach the .deb files here but I don't think this would sit well with
Eclipse policy since they are not EPL (?).

I believe you can just share the .deb files via dropbox or similar
service. In the end, WebKitGTK is an open source project and
redistribution is allowed.

Could you explain in more details about the fix you applied? Is this an
official newer version of WebKitGTK? Or you patched the one in Ubuntu
13.04 and rebuilt it?

[Bug 487826] Re: Etherboot floppy boot terminal appears to load image and failed with 'Issuing RESET:' on 9.10

2013-11-20 Thread Alkis Georgopoulos
I propose that we completely remove support for NBI images from ltsp-trunk.
Copy from my mail to the ltsp-developer list:

AFAIK, NBI (Etherboot) support has been broken for years:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ltsp/+bug/487826

I want to remove all of the NBI code from ltsp-trunk, so I'm proposing this
commit:
http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~alkisg/+junk/ltsp/revision/2500

This touches files like dhcpd.conf from all distros, so please stop me
from committing it if NBI images still work for you.

As for a workaround,
 * I think some etherboot clients support booting from pxelinux.0 (I had this
in mind in the planned commit),
 * While for older etherboot clients that don't support pxelinux.0, someone
that has such a client should create an ipxe.nbi wrapper, post it to our wiki
and document how to change dhcpd.conf to boot from that.

I'll wait for a few days for feedback; if there's none, I'll go ahead
and push.

Cheers,
Alkis

[Bug 1253003] [NEW] Sync wxwidgets3.0 3.0.0-1 (universe) from Debian sid (main)

2013-11-20 Thread Oibaf
Public bug reported:

Please sync wxwidgets3.0 3.0.0-1 (universe) from Debian sid (main)

All changelog entries:

wxwidgets3.0 (3.0.0-1) unstable; urgency=low

  * New upstream release! (Closes: #613431, #492896)
+ Incorporates all our patches.
+ __WXDEBUG__ is now on by default, so our -dbg packages now just contain
  detached debugging symbols. (Closes: #655251)
+ Upstream tarball is now DFSG-free, so we no longer repack it.
  * The wxwidgets2.8 source package was based on wxPython sources, but
wxwidgets3.0 is based on wxWidgets. The major motivation is we don't want
to wait until wxPython 3.0.0 is released to package wxWidgets 3.0.0, but
it's probably better overall anyway. Currently the -doc package is gone
(as these docs aren't in wx source code distribution), but this should
reappear in the near future.
  * debian/control: Drop conflicts against packages (or versions of packages)
which no longer exist in any supported Debian or Ubuntu release.

[Bug 1218973] Re: XPS 12-9Q33 touchpad not recognized

2013-11-20 Thread Wouter van der Graaf
Benjamin Tissoires, hid driver developer, contacted Andrew Duggan of
Synaptics. They are still working on it. Linux input mailing list post:

http://www.spinics.net/lists/linux-input/msg28282.html

It is located here:
https://github.com/mightybigcar/synaptics-rmi4/commits/rmihid

As mentioned by Andrew, any feedback are welcome.

In Raring with kernel 3.8, the touchpad did work, but the touchscreen
and wifi did not. Since kernel 3.10, touchscreen is detected by i2c-hid
kernel module, but also the touchpad. However, according to the kernel
maintainers, the i2c-hid mode driver for Synaptics touchpad is missing.
That's why it's is not detected as a touchpad.

[Bug 1245465] Re: should offer a commandline option to override the user agent in webapp mode

2013-11-20 Thread Olivier Tilloy
We also discussed with the webapps team the idea of allowing webapps to
ship their own override file, that would have a higher priority than the
system-wide one.

Also note that we plan to implement some sort of update mechanism for
the system-wide overrides file (probably by having it being part of a
click package).

From the version number, libmotif4 2.3.4-1, I'm assuming you downloaded

You should uninstall version 2.3.4-1 and then install version 2.3.4-4

[Bug 1253009] [NEW] Please sync latest upstream release (0.9x) from Debian experimental - Pitivi developers recommends to use 0.92 or later

2013-11-20 Thread Mantas Kriaučiūnas
Public bug reported:

Ubuntu Trusty still has old and outdated Pitivi version - 0.15, while Pitivi
developers recommends to use 0.92 or later, see download page on
http://pitivi.org :
Various Linux distributions provide Pitivi in their repositories, but the
version provided may be too old. For an optimal experience, make sure you are
using Pitivi 0.92

Please sync latest upstream Pitivi release (0.9x) from Debian
experimental - AFAIK we have enough time until 14.04 import freeze to
find if latest Pitivi release series is good enough for including into
LTS release.

Pitivi Wiki also contains info, that 0.15 release is lower quality than 0.92:
That said, one month after 0.91, with the feedback we have received so far, we
are pretty confident that the new release series is of much higher quality than
the 0.15 series and older.

[Bug 1252909] Re: Nautilus takes no notice of my selection in File -- Properties

2013-11-20 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thank you for your bug report. You can right click on the file to open
the properties as well, no need to use the command line. Could you try
with a newer version to see if that's still an issue? I can't confirm on
Ubuntu 13.10, it ignores the selection and give the properties of the
current folter in that version though
