and other errors I changed my /etc/default/locale file to:
LANGUAGE=en_US.UTF-8
LANG=en_US.UTF-8
LC_ALL=en_US.UTF-8

I am afraid I cannot install testing version of Ubuntu to my main
system, since some other programs might not work with it and I should
use it intensively quite long (over a week). If you are sure the cause

I had computer problems for a few days, then came back today and found
widespread problems with a few games and the steam overlay. Games affected were
XCom: Enemy Unknown, Batman Arkham City, Flatout 2 and Dishonoured. Wine
versions tested were 1.7.1 and 1.7.10, both compiled under an Ubuntu 11.

(e.g. xterminals!!) is really not acceptable, compared to the few issues
that the behavior has without it.

than altrgr breaks the very standard behavior of right alt

Choose the recovery mode in GRUB (under Advanced Options for Ubuntu) and
choose 'Fix broken Packages'.

Oh my god.. I reported this almost two years ago.. and nobody is willing

drm-intel-nightly already as well (dmesg log already attached at the
beginning).

I'm already running drm-intel-nightly which includes that commit.
That particular hack does indeed run (see attached dmesg log at the beginning)
but the panel is still blank. I saw the same hack at intel_dp_get_config, but
in my machine intel_dp_get_config does not get called at all.
