solved the problems by installing libapache2-mod-php5filter instead.

Actually, to get it to crash, I need to select an album in the Cover Art
source, then cause at least the window to lose focus (Alt-Tab out, click on
another app window, etc).

With version 0.5.3 in Ubuntu Trusty I am no longer able to reproduce
this issue, the extra escape characters are gone. I cannot find anything
in the changelog (https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/vim-addon-

I found the reason of the crashes using strace: Some files iIn
/usr/local/share misses world readability. After changing the
permissiones kcmshell4 filetypes works as aspected. So the remaining
problem is, that kcmshell crashes instead of returning a meaningfull
error message in such a situation.

verging on a security flaw when you have to retype you ssh passphrase
every time you perform and ssh/git/scp operation - it's certainly a
