Hello I made an attempt to istall steam from the Ubuntu software center when an error occurred. [Bug 1300031] Re: ignores build depends after comments
This bug was fixed in the package autopkgtest - 2.12 --- autopkgtest (2.12) unstable; urgency=medium [ Martin Pitt ] New features: * Add new options -s/--shell-fail for running a shell in the testbed after every failed test, and --shell for running a shell in the testbed after every test. This should make debugging tests or regressions quite a bit simpler. This actually spawns a shell for the null, chroot, schroot, and lxc runners, and shows how to login to the VM for qemu (this will hopefully be improved in the future, but at least makes debugging possible for now). Bug fixes: * adt-build-lxc: Fix apt proxy setting for ubuntu template; use $HTTP_PROXY, not $APT_PROXY. * Make PEP-8 failures non-fatal during package build. They often fail in backports to old releases, and running them before releasing a new package is sufficient. * Filter out comment lines from control lines, as python-debian doesn't properly do that (Debian #743174). Fixes lintian autopkgtest. (LP: #1300031) [ Antonio Terceiro ] * adt-virt-schroot: Add new option -s/--session-id for specifying a custom schroot session id. This is useful for debugging test suites that go crazy on ci.debian.net, so you can `schroot --list --all-sessions` and see which sessions are still open. -- Martin Pitt Mon, 31 Mar 2014 11:45:13 +0200 ** Changed in: autopkgtest (Ubuntu) Status: Fix Committed => Fix Released -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1300031 Title: ignores build depends after comments To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/autopkgtest/+bug/1300031/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1116071] Re: Google search povider for en-GB locale incorrectly adds "gl" parameter forcing UK-based search results
We need someone located in the UK to remove the "gl" parameter and see if Google is properly detecting their location automatically. In my experience, it does a very good job of this, but if not then obviously I agree all the UK users shouldn't have to deal with US results. In my case, this parameter also affects Google Shopping results, showing me only products in UK stores in GBP. Thankfully it is easy to use a modified google.xml file. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1116071 Title: Google search povider for en-GB locale incorrectly adds "gl" parameter forcing UK-based search results To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox/+bug/1116071/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1300557] Re: Screen resolution no longer works
** Description changed: My display's native resolution is 2560×1440 pixels. Prior to, I think, Saucy I could only reach this resolution by adding it using xrandr, and then calling xrandr on boot/login to select that resolution. The Display preferences did not show any higher options than 1920×1200. In Saucy, the native resolution just worked, and I could stop using xrandr. It also worked in Trusty in the alpha releases, up to (and I think including) beta-1. But today (this is not an April's fool, is it?) I rebooted after an upgrade, and found myself back in 1920×1200. - Again, the Display preferences list that as the highest possible - resolution. But this time, attempts to ‘xrandr --admode’ my native + Again, the Display preferences list that resolution as the highest + possible. But this time, attempts to ‘xrandr --addmode’ my native resolution failed. The error message wasn't very helpful; I'll try to reproduce it later but it throws my display into yet a lower resolution that's hard to work with. [Bug 1253009] Re: [FFe] Please sync latest upstream release (0.9x) from Debian experimental - Pitivi developers recommends to use 0.92 or later
** Description changed: Ubuntu Trusty still has old and outdated Pitivi version - 0.15, while Pitivi developers recommends to use 0.92 or later, see download page on http://pitivi.org : Various Linux distributions provide Pitivi in their repositories, but the version provided may be too old. For an optimal experience, make sure you are using Pitivi 0.92 Please sync latest upstream Pitivi release (0.9x) from Debian experimental - AFAIK we have enough time until 14.04 import freeze to find if latest Pitivi release series is good enough for including into LTS release. Pitivi Wiki also contains info, that 0.15 release is lower quality than 0.92: That said, one month after 0.91, with the feedback we have received so far, we are pretty confident that the new release series is of much higher quality than the 0.15 series and older. See http://wiki.pitivi.org/wiki/0.93 and http://wiki.pitivi.org/wiki/0.92 + + Addendum/Mirv: pitivi 0.15 end user experience as it is currently on + Ubuntu makes most people to back away from it - it requires specific + settings to not crash or hang, for example (I've found webm container to + usually work, but the last time I tried that didn't work either which + may be some bitrotting happening) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1253009 Title: [FFe] Please sync latest upstream release (0.9x) from Debian experimental - Pitivi developers recommends to use 0.92 or later To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pitivi/+bug/1253009/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1300574] [NEW] Custom indicators not shown after restarting Unity
Public bug reported: Tested on Unity 7.1.2+14.04.20140328.1-0ubuntu1 If Unity restarts, either by crashing or manually with "restart unity- panel-service" or "unity --replace", when Unity comes back, I can no longer see my custom indicators. I am still able to see the default indicators (sync, messages, sound, datetime, and session), but not the ones I have installed: sensors, cpufreq, multiload, weather, etc. These indicators are still running and appear in the process list, I just can't see them in the panel. I still see notifications from them. If I kill and restart any of these indicators, they run fine, but I still cannot see them in the panel. The only way I have found to get them back is to completely log out and back in. I can't figure out what differentiates these "custom" indicators from the default ones that would cause them not to appear. With weather- indicator, I even created an upstart job to control it. If no one else is able to reproduce this, please let me know how best to debug it further. ** Affects: unity (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1300574 Title: Custom indicators not shown after restarting Unity To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity/+bug/1300574/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1300557] [NEW] Screen resolution no longer works
Public bug reported: My display's native resolution is 2560×1440 pixels. Again, the Display preferences list that as the highest possible resolution. But this time, attempts to ‘xrandr --admode’ my native resolution failed. The error message wasn't very helpful; I'll try to reproduce it later but it throws my display into yet a lower resolution that's hard to work with. [Bug 1300349] Re: Intel Corporation Haswell-ULT Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 09)
apport information ** Tags added: apport-collected staging trusty ** Description changed: As discussed at http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2204287 the video is terrible on ubuntu 13.10. It is horrible also on 12.04.4, but works well on 12.04.2. By terrible, it means that it looks something like interlaced video not displayed properly. Every other line is shifted. lspci shows VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Haswell-ULT Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 09) On ubuntu 12.04.2 the live CD has properly working video. The video works correctly after install, and also after all updates up to the current set of packages. On ubuntu 12.04.3 the live CD has bad video. On ubuntu 12.04.4 the live CD has bad video. On lubuntu 13.10 the live CD has bad video. The video is also bad after install, and also after all updates up to the current set of packages. On ubuntu 14.04 beta2 the live CD has bad video. I would prefer to use a version more recent than 12.04. + --- + ApportVersion: 2.13.3-0ubuntu1 + Architecture: amd64 + AudioDevicesInUse: + USERPID ACCESS COMMAND + /dev/snd/controlC1: ubuntu 2164 F pulseaudio + /dev/snd/controlC0: ubuntu 2164 F pulseaudio + CasperVersion: 1.339 + CurrentDesktop: Unity + DistroRelease: Ubuntu 14.04 + LiveMediaBuild: Ubuntu 14.04 LTS "Trusty Tahr" - Beta amd64 (20140326) + MachineType: Dell Inc.
