If the behaviour of lid is to 'do nothing'- system freezes as soon as

The behavior of BUILTIN\ is not a bug but is intended like this. The
idmap_ad plugin is only used for the WORKGROUP domain. everything else
is up to idmap config * : range = 10-30. See man idmap_ad

If you try setting a gid to the groups in the AD, does this workaround
the problem? (to be sure the -1 are comming from the idmap_ad backend)

[Bug 1313282] Re: apparmor="DENIED" for freshclam (CLAMAV)

2014-04-28 Thread Matthijs van Wageningen
The changes to the freshclam AppArmor profile does do the trick.

Now freshclam reports (as it should be);
Clamd successfully notified about the update.

Thanks for the quick fix,
Matthijs

[Bug 1295994] Re: Unable to use Printscreen Button on Ubuntu 14.04 in GNOME Shell

2014-04-28 Thread Gregor
HP Pavilion dm1 with AMD E450 APU.
The slightly upgraded model is Ubuntu certified:
http://www.ubuntu.com/certification/hardware/201209-11793/ and this one worked
well until 13.10. The prt sc key stopped working in 14.04, while the Fn keys
for brightnes (Fn+F2, Fn+F3) and for screen switching (Fn+F4) do not work since
13.10. Workarround for Fn keys is to use Meta key (e.g. meta+F2 to reduce
brightness) in Kubuntu instead.
I've tried a number of liveCD
Everything works in 12.04 (tried with Xubuntu that i had layign arorund)

[Bug 1313194] Re: Bochs Multiple Vulnerabilities

2014-04-28 Thread Seth Arnold
Mollie, thanks for forwarding this report; do you know if the issue is
strictly a matter of properly constructed image file or is this
something that could be influenced from "inside" the system being
emulated?

Do you know if the example PoC files are available? Do you know if this
has been reported to upstream Bochs developers? Do you know if any CVE
numbers have been assigned?

Thanks

[Bug 1314028] [NEW] Graphical glitches with SNA enabled on Intel graphics

2014-04-28 Thread Martin Endres
Public bug reported:

Operating System: Xubuntu 14.04 (Update from 13.10)

CPU: Intel Celeron 847 1,1GHz
RAM: 4GB
Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 2000

Steps to reproduce the issue:

- Open multiple windows on seperate workspaces.
- Switch between windows via Alt+Tab.

Expected Result: Application windows are rendered correctly, there are no
visible graphical glitches.

Actual Result: There are graphical glithes where the active window is only
rendered partially, e.g. switching from Thunderbird to Chromium leads to a
mixture of both applications. When hovering the mouse pointer over elements,
those are updated and rendered correctly. The same effect may happen when
minimizing / maximizing windows.

Workaraound: Instead of using SNA, fall back to UXA rendering mode.

[Bug 1303746] Re: Performance hit when editing sorted lists

2014-04-28 Thread Niklas Wenzel
Will this be backported to Ubuntu 14.04? It does not help if it's fixed
in Utopic Unicorn while everyone still uses Trusty.

In my opinion it's a quite critical bug because it prevents useful
scrolling in an app I'm working on (http://cantata.googlecode.com).

[Bug 1314022] [NEW] Selecting/copying an url in the omnibox no longer (magically) copies the http://

2014-04-28 Thread mpb
Public bug reported:

Back in Ubuntu 13.04, if you selected (by painting or triple-clicking) a
URL in the omnibox, and then pasted it somewhere (with the middle mouse
button), the pasted version would automatically have http:// prepended
to the URL, even though Chromium does not display http:// in the
omnibox. This was very useful.

Unfortunately, in Ubuntu 14.04, Chromium no longer magically prepends
http:// to pasted URLS.

More precisely, Chromium DOES prepend the http:// when you Cut and
Paste, but DOES NOT when you paint or triple click, followed by a middle
click.

[Bug 1312782] WifiSyslog.txt

2014-04-28 Thread aa212121
apport information

** Attachment added: "WifiSyslog.txt"

https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1312782/+attachment/4100088/+files/WifiSyslog.txt

** Description changed:

I'm using Ubuntu 12.04.4 LTS with kernel version : Linux anish-pc
  3.5.0-45-generic #68~precise1-Ubuntu SMP Wed Dec 4 16:18:46 UTC 2013
  x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux. My computer is Toshiba Satellite
  C655-S5501.

  Possible package : Linux

Since I updated to kernel version 3.5.0-46, I've been having problems
with 'Enable Wireless'.Whenever I turn on 'Enable Wireless', I get a
syscrash and have to hard reset my laptop. This happens 9/10 times.
Sometimes it doesn't crash and I can use my computer without any
problems. Sometimes, it doesn't crash when I enable wireless, but then
if I turn off the wireless and reset it, it occurs again. This problem
only exists for kernel version 3.5.0-46 to 3.5.0-48. Previous kernel
versions do not have this problem and so I'm using kernel version
3.5.0-45 as it is stable for me.

This problem first occurred when I updated to kernel version 3.5.0-46. When I
was updating, I lost my internet connection for 10-15 sec and after regaining
it, update-manager continued updating. I thought these crashes may have been
caused because of this and so I waited to new kernel updates in the hope that
this problem will get solved. But that didn't happen for next kernel updates :
3.5.0-47/48.

[Bug 1162471] Re: Subscription Request lacks pertinent information

2014-04-28 Thread Walter Garcia-Fontes
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to
look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many
changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem
may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if
you could test it on a currently supported Ubuntu version. When you test
it and it is still an issue, kindly upload the updated logs by running
apport-collect and any other logs that are relevant for this
particular issue.

[Bug 1312782] Re: syscrash on 'Enable Wireless'

2014-04-28 Thread aa212121
apport information

** Tags added: apport-collected precise running-unity

- This problem first occurred when I updated to kernel version 3.5.0-46.
- When I was updating, I lost my internet connection for 10-15 sec and
- after regaining it, update-manager continued updating. I thought these
- crashes may have been caused because of this and so I waited to new
- kernel updates in the hope that this problem will get solved. But that
- didn't happen for next kernel updates : 3.5.0-47/48.
