[Bug 1311247] Re: [Grubenv] error: malformed file, press any key to continue
An other error getting from time to time, way before the starting grub process, is: "xz compression data is corrupted" , and need to reboot in that case. [Bug 1343911] Re: gdm-session-worker crashed with SIGABRT in g_assertion_message()
@Harry yes it is the same side effect due to systemd/cgmanager. This report is already a follow up of a previous fixed one (lp:1342586) and here is against gdm (which yours are not). As Serge have started to study that issue from your report, i will test his ppa package. And maybe we will grab a less older systemd package that time (i'm surprised ubuntu is not picking the systemd upstream, which have made huge improvements & fixes). That's said, i let this report not linked with yours. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1343911 Title: gdm-session-worker crashed with SIGABRT in g_assertion_message() To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gdm/+bug/1343911/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1275416] Re: touchscreen do not work after suspend/resume
Cheers mates! I've found a workaround for this REALLY odd ubuntu issue. Assuming you all have ELAN touchscreen devices, like mine, it represents an usb device. It seems that the ubuntu driver that controls the touchscreen has a bug, altough it could work natively as another xinput device. So, I blacklisted the "usbtouchscreen" on modprobe, using the command: "echo "blacklist usbtouchscreen" | sudo tee -a /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf" (without quotes, of course) or just blacklist it using nano, as you prefer... :-) Reboot the thing and... voilà! Touchscreen works every time, no matter how many resume/suspend events you inflict to the beast. It's working just fine for me. So, guys, tell if it solves for you too! (this REALLY annoying bc hyper-v can obviously scale video output and if they scaled up the lower resolution, it would overcome the postage stamp size vm screen). Anyway, restarting windows with 1920x1080 resolution did the trick, with full screen 1920x1080 ubuntu 14.04 running under windows. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1218995 Title: Hyper-V Synthetic Video Frame Buffer Driver not working To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1218995/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1283826] Re: lightdm hangs after updates
Well whatever it is, I know ssh logins are still possible. If available I can login from another machine via ssh and reboot from there. Nothing seems to be locked up from that end, so I know it's not the core system. It also seems to be every other reboot too, if that matters. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1283826 Title: lightdm hangs after updates To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gdm/+bug/1283826/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1340604] Re: [phone] crash files are only uploaded on boot
So after further digging what I think is happening is this: when whoopsie calls monitor_connectivity() and we timeout getting the system bus monitor_connectivity() returns FALSE and that's it. [Bug 696841] Re: vlc stops playing audio after pause/resume or seek
I find it astonishing that this bug is marked "invalid." Here I sit, using Ubuntu 14.04 and VLC 2.1.4 and I have the exact problem described above. For me, sound does not stop when resuming from pause. It only stops when I "click forward," mostly on mp4s but not always. I can get the sound back by disabling audio and re-enabling it. I have tried all the "fixes" described above and still have the same problem. I am happy to provide any tech info you-all may need to diagnose, but you will need to tell me what you need and how I can find it. [Bug 1277959] Re: [Asus 1015E] Fn+F2 is not working for activating/deactivating wifi
@Ant, Your model does not use the asus_nb_wmi driver which the bug is about, so your problem is not related to this particular bug, nor is the workaround for you. Blindly applying patches/workarounds not meant for your model would only make the problem worse. If you have a thread on the problem on ubuntuforums.org, please give me its link so I can try what we can. If not, and the problem still exists, I suggest you do that now - post a thread on ubuntuforums.org and give me its link (posting it here or via PM on ubuntuforums). PS: Based on confirmations in comment #22 here, and comment #59 in the related bug #1173681 , I have edited the ubuntuforums post (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2181558) to change the wapf value from 1 to 4, and added the request to post the command output for model number. Still unsure though why it broke on models on which there was no problem with older kernels. As long as that remains unexplained and the Fn+F2 unfixed, this will still remain a 'Workaround', not a fix. But thanks to you, Hans, for at least patching the code for reported models to make them work out of box, and not requiring to apply the workaround manually. It'd be a delightful day when the real culprit is found and the 'real' fix is released, so that the Fn+F2 issue is fixed too. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1277959 Title: [Asus 1015E] Fn+F2 is not working for activating/deactivating wifi To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-lts-raring/+bug/1277959/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

II also see this bug. It's definitely a problem! I suspect that the reason relatively few people are complaining is that (a) The problem is intermittent - the keys come and go, sometimes only a single keystroke is dropped. Sometimes it takes many seconds. (b) Nobody expects a bug of this type - and who would blame the combination of keyboard + browser + input-field. (c) Weirdly, the mouse still works, it's just the keyboard. (d) When the bug occurs, the browser used to report it is broken! Incidentally, I am submitting this bug by copy-pasting into Chrome: middle-click paste still works. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1308125 Title: ERROR:browser_main_loop.cc(240)] Gdk: gdk_window_set_user_time called on non-toplevel To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/chromium-browser/+bug/1308125/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1291321] Re: migration fails between 12.04 Precise and 14.04 Trusty
Looks like there is a patch here: http://pkgs.fedoraproject.org/cgit/qemu.git/tree/0001-Fix-migration-from-qemu-kvm.patch?h=f20 but it's either take it (and break inbound migrates from quantal etc.) or don't (and break inbound migrates from precise). The guests had little to no load and yet the shell was laggy and commands took forever to respond (assuming you could even type them) # uname -a Linux kvm-andromeda 3.13.0-29-generic #53-Ubuntu SMP Wed Jun 4 21:00:20 UTC 2014 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux # kvm --version QEMU emulator version 2.0.0 (Debian 2.0.0+dfsg-2ubuntu1.1), Copyright (c) 2003-2008 Fabrice Bellard I posted to Ubuntu Server and they suggested that I upgrade my kernel version. [Bug 1291321] Re: migration fails between 12.04 Precise and 14.04 Trusty
This is pretty annoying. In a situation where you have many customer VMs running on 12.04, and want to migrate them to a host running 14.04 (so you can do a rolling OS upgrade), I'm afraid "shut down all your customer VMs and restart" isn't really an option for obvious reasons. Equally, installing two versions of qemu, or custom versions of qemu is not really an option. In my situation I'm not using virsh / libvirt, so adding '-machine pc-1.0 -global cirrus-vga.vgamem_mb=10' or similar would be a reasonable fix; when the VM is eventually rebooted, I can reboot without that, and the hardware will appear to be upgraded (not great, but ok). However, this doesn't work as (as far as I can tell) there is no way to get past: 'Length mismatch: :00:03.0/virtio-net-pci.rom: 1 in != 2' through command-line skulduggery. What it seems to me one should do is define a pc-1.0-precise machine type (which is obviously not going to be used by anyone using raring etc.), and use this solely for incoming migrations. I'd produce the patch myself save I've not yet discovered where the relevant tweak for changing virtio-net-pci.rom size is. If I find it (I've contributed to qemu before) would you take this as an SRU? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1291321 Title: migration fails between 12.04 Precise and 14.04 Trusty To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libvirt/+bug/1291321/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1329141] Re: qmlscene crashed while running test_can_launch_multiple_applications
The output of unity8.log would help, as it would show if unity8 rejected the client connection (and thus causing client to crash) or not. That's usually the reason for this error. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1329141 Title: qmlscene crashed while running test_can_launch_multiple_applications To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-app-launch/+bug/1329141/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1046563] Re: update-manager never appears on lubuntu precise > trusty
I still can't get this to work in my current installation of Lubuntu 14.04:I've set all available updates to be displayed immediately, added update-notifier to start up applications, and yet no notifications are ever visible. So far,the only way to find updates has been to manually launch the update manager or do sudo apt-get upgrade, neither of which is very convenient. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1046563 Title: update-manager never appears on lubuntu precise > trusty To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/update-manager/+bug/1046563/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
