[Bug 1330168] Re: Please update to 5.6.19

mysql 5.6.19-1~exp1 was synced into utopic-proposed already, but it
fails to build on arm64 and thus doesn't promote to utopic:

[Bug 1347147] Re: krb5 database operations enter infinite loop

2014-08-01 Thread Anders Kaseorg
Upstream says this bug still exists in GCC 4.9, even though Kerberos
happens to be unaffected there. They have committed a patch to GCC trunk
https://gcc.gnu.org/r213375, GCC 4.9 https://gcc.gnu.org/r213404 and
for GCC 4.8 https://gcc.gnu.org/r213405.

I verified that GCC 4.8 with r213405 fixes the kadmin.local test.

[Bug 1351237] [NEW] MAAS install breaks resolvconf

2014-08-01 Thread Hag K
Public bug reported:

Version:
Ubuntu Server 14.04 with current packages

Problem:
After installing the maas package, the resolveconf functionality stops
working.

Use Case:
The MAAS machine and all other commissioned machines are virtual machines
running on KVM. In order to be able to resolve the commissioned machines by
their machine names from the MAAS machine itself, the MAAS machine needs to
look up 127.0.0.1 (i.e. its own MAAS DNS). In addition, it also needs to look
up a second DNS server for the Intranet (i.e. so it can find my internal
apt-get proxy).

Workaround:
Edit the /etc/hosts file and add all required machine references. A bit
cumbersome but it works around the problem.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Create a default Ubuntu Server 14.04 machine with one NIC, which has
a static IP address. Make sure that you specify two DNS servers of which
127.0.0.1 is the first in order. Below is an example
/etc/network/interfaces file. Note: Adjust accordingly to suit your
network.

# The loopback network interface
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback

# The primary network interface
auto eth0
iface eth0 inet static
address 10.100.10.150
netmask 255.255.255.0
network 10.100.10.0
broadcast 10.100.10.255
gateway 10.100.10.1
dns-nameservers 127.0.0.1 10.2.2.1
dns-search your.company.com

3. Restart the machine
4. Run cat /etc/resolv.conf and verify that it only shows 127.0.0.1 but not
10.2.2.1

Note: I guess this is working as designed?

5. Add the following line to the /etc/resolvconf/resolv.conf.d/tail
file. Note: Adjust IP accordingly to suit your network.

nameserver 10.2.2.1

6. Run sudo resolvconf -u
7. Run cat /etc/resolv.conf and verify that both DNS servers are listed

8. Ping a machine which gets resolved via the DNS server 10.2.2.1 to
verify that resolvconf works.

9. Install MAAS sudo apt-get install maas

10. After the MAAS installation has finished, run cat /etc/resolv.conf
and verify that it still shows both DNS server entries!

11. However, try to ping a machine which gets resolved via the second
DNS server (i.e. 10.2.2.1). Note that the machine does not get resolved
any more and as a result you get ping: unknown host.

Attempted fix:
I tried to fix this problem by re-installing resolvconf but this didn't make
any difference. Attempted steps are outlined below.

A1: Edited the /etc/hosts file and added a reference to my apt-get proxy
server so that apt-get works
A2. Run
sudo apt-get remove --purge resolvconf sudo apt-get install resolvconf
A3. Removed the previously added entry from the /etc/hosts file
A4. Added the entry to the /etc/resolvconf/resolv.conf.d/tail file again
A5. Restarted the machine
A6. Tried to ping a machine, which gets resolved via DNS 10.2.2.1 but it was
still not resolving the machine name.

I think this was fixed in:

glance (1:2014.1~rc2-0ubuntu1) trusty; urgency=medium

   [ Chuck Short ]
   * New upstream release candidate (LP: #1299055).
   * debian/patches/sql_conn.patch: Refreshed.
   * debian/glance-api.install: Install missing schema.json file.
 (LP: #1307518)

  [ Thomas Bechtold ]
  * debian/glance-common.postinst: Set correct owner/group for /var/lib/glance
and subdirs only on local filesystems (LP: #1302044).

So this is a dupe of bug 1302044

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug in Ubuntu; Its possible
that this bug has already been fixed either in an SRU or in a later
Ubuntu release (Icehouse on 14.04 for example).

Please could you re-test and see if this is still a problem for you; if
so please can you run apport-collect 1314276 so that this bug report
gets populated with relevant system information.

Thanks!

[Bug 1321257] Re: The neutron-plugin-openvswitch-agent package no longer depends on neutron-plugin-openvswitch

2014-08-01 Thread James Page
This is slight confusing, but the neutron-plugin-openvswitch-agent
package work with either neutron-plugin-ml2 or neutron-plugin-
openvswitch - the latter now being deprecated, hence the switch in 14.04
to use ml2 instead. Its still possible to use the agent with either,
but it will default to ML2.

[Bug 1351297] [NEW] postfix incorrectly complains about: do not list domain in BOTH virtual_mailbox_domains and relay_domains

2014-08-01 Thread Ralf Jung
Public bug reported:

Postfix regularily prints in its logfile:

warning: do not list domain lists.hacksaar.de in BOTH
virtual_mailbox_domains and relay_domains

However, that domain is not in the relay_domains. It was there for a
short time after the upgrade to 14.04 (coming from 12.04), indirectly
through mydestinations. But I fixed that. Still, postfix keeps
complaining.

postconf -n outputs:

[Bug 1323634] Re: Nova API and Scheduler requires python-six=1.4.1, but 1.3.0 is present in the repository in Saucy

2014-08-01 Thread James Page
Zoltan

As Saucy is not longer supported, I'm making the assumption that you
have upgraded to 14.04/Icehouse.

Can you check to see if this is still a problem? I'm not seeing any
problems in 14.04.

Thanks!

I've been testing this driver as part of the work to charm up the vmware

there where some other issues but those have now all been SRU'ed.

Can you confirm that this is still a problem with the latest 14.04

[Bug 1333388] Re: mod_ident no longer included in apache

2014-08-01 Thread Alex Bligh
This gets worse.

You can't even use your own mod_ident, because whenever apache2 is
upgraded, it runs this:

OBSOLETE_CONFFILES=...
/etc/apache2/mods-available/ident.load
...

...
if [ -n $2 ] || obsolete_conffile_exists ; then
   prepare_rm_conffile
   prepare_mv_conffile
fi

which goes and removes its .load file.

What is the justification for mandatory removal of functional
configuration files shipped with the upstream package, just because
someone decided they shouldn't be used by default? It's almost as if
someone has made it deliberately near impossible to use these modules.

Hi,

its a bug it the code. The workaround is to comment the function in the
libvirt code which checks the flags of cpu while migration. Do make sure
manually that the cpu flags of both the compute nodes are same.

[Bug 1315188] Re: No init.d script included in icehouse ubuntu packaging

2014-08-01 Thread James Page
To top it all off, I fail to see the reason why support was cut in the
first place.

The change was made in the way init and upstart configurations are
installed to align Debian and Ubuntu, so that users can choose which
init system to use; same applied for systemd configurations now.

The service command should work just fine with upstart only
configurations; the service command is written to use the upstart
configuration on upstart based systems and sysvinit scripts on older
style systems such as Debian.

Do the Chef configurations call /etc/init.d/keystone directly? or use

[Bug 1301122] Re: Horizon Icehouse rc-1 in trusty does not work out of the box

2014-08-01 Thread James Page
I can see why the configuration and the wsgi module don't get enabled
but I'm not 100% sure why this is happening; if the apache2 helper
scripts are not found, then the configuration enablement and module
enablement get skipped in the maintainer scripts.

Installing apache2 then running: dpkg-reconfigure libapache2-mod-wsgi
and dpkg-reconfigure openstack-dashboard DTRT.

2014-08-01 Thread James Page
Dropping back to:

  apt-get install memcached openstack-dashboard

It looks like libapache2-mod-wsgi depends on apache2-bin which provides
httpd (see - http://packages.ubuntu.com/trusty/httpd) which fulfills the
alternative for apache2, resulting in apache2 not getting installed and
everything exploding as a result.

The alt dependency is there so that people can cut their own
configuration with things like NGINX; I'm reticent to drop this as it
will break people in other ways.

running, then the reload fails and the maintainer scripts fail. Please
try enabling apache and then installing the package again.

Bug was fixed https://tools.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCuo76464
(sorry, you need Cisco account). So, I think that this is not a bug, but a
configuration incompatibility.
Simple explanation: openSSH require more security and external ssh server is
not using this level of security.

[Bug 1292102] Re: AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'obj' (driver.obj.release_segment(session, segment))

2014-08-01 Thread Alan Pevec
Don't worry about Icehouse task, stable release managers will add it once fix
is merged.
Proposing a patch for stable/icehouse is much appreciated and is one of the
methods to get the backport process started:
 https://wiki.openstack.org/wiki/StableBranch#Proposing_Fixes

Unfortunatelly your backport came after 2014.1.2 freeze so if you think
this is a critical issue and must be included in 2014.1.2 please propose
it for freeze exception on the openstack-stable-maint list.

[Bug 1280025] Re: libnss-winbind should be installed per default on desktop systems

2014-08-01 Thread Søren Holm
Ok. I'd like to do that then. Do you have any pointers to the meta-data
describing deskttop-flavor packages and how to edit /etc/ configuration
files ?

Install the package per default and add wins to the hosts-line in
/etc/nsswitch.conf should be enough afaik.
