[Bug 1359944] Re: [FFE] Update juju-quickstart to support MAAS as a configurable provider
The changes has been made and released on PyPI (version 1.4.4): https://pypi.python.org/pypi/juju-quickstart/1.4.4 Quickstart now supports creating and managing MAAS environments: this allows MAAS users to quickly configure and bootstrap an environment on MAAS, including the Juju GUI deployed on the bootstrap node, with automatic login and bundle deployment support. This completes the quickstart offer in terms of supported providers: we need MAAS to be a first class provider along with ec2, amazon, hp cloud and all the other provider types supported by quickstart. This did not require any change in the list of dependencies. The feature is properly tested (both unit tests and live tests in a real MAAS controller). Here is the changelog since 1.4.2: juju-quickstart (1.4.4) trusty; urgency=low * Support creating and using MAAS (Metal As A Service) environments. -- Francesco Banconi francesco.banc...@canonical.com Wed, 01 Oct 2014 15:38:32 + juju-quickstart (1.4.3) trusty; urgency=low * Support for overriding the Juju executable with the JUJU env var. * Add support for Ubuntu 14.10 (utopic). * Base dependencies update. -- Francesco Banconi francesco.banc...@canonical.com Thu, 11 Sep 2014 11:57:47 + We opened bug 1359938 in order to handle version 1.4.3. [Bug 1359938] Re: [FFE] request to update juju-quickstart to support JUJU env var
The changes has been made and released on PyPI (version 1.4.3): https://pypi.python.org/pypi/juju-quickstart/1.4.3 Quickstart now supports overriding the juju executable being invoked via the JUJU env var. This is only allowed on recent juju versions, not requiring sudo to be called on juju bootstrap when using local environments (LXC). This feature helps testing quickstart with development versions of Juju, making releases more reliable and future proof. The 1.4.3 release also bumps the requirements versions up, to align to what we expect to be included in utopic. The feature is properly tested (quickstart still have 100% unit tests coverage). Here is the full changelog: juju-quickstart (1.4.3) trusty; urgency=low * Support for overriding the Juju executable with the JUJU env var. * Add support for Ubuntu 14.10 (utopic). * Base dependencies update. -- Francesco Banconi francesco.banc...@canonical.com Thu, 11 Sep 2014 11:57:47 + I am available for any help or clarification. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to juju-quickstart in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1359938 Title: [FFE] request to update juju-quickstart to support JUJU env var To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/juju-quickstart/+bug/1359938/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

Re: [Bug 1376548] [NEW] service slapd stop fails
Hi Paul, Thanks for the report. On Wed, Oct 1, 2014 at 8:03 PM, Paul Bickerstaff paul.bickerst...@portland-software.com wrote: In Ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS amd64 with slapd package version 2.4.31-1+nmu2ubuntu8, OpenLDAP server (slapd), executing the following standard service command fails to have effect. Is there any output from slapd in /var/log/syslog that might indicate why it didn't stop? Is it still responding normally to connections after that? Is this happening consistently for you, or only intermittently? If the latter, can you see any pattern in when it happens? The problem is clouded by the --oknodo option in /etc/init.d/slapd. This is responsible for the erroneous report. JFTR: the intent of --oknodo is to provide idempotence, per the examples in the start-stop-daemon(8) man page. stop_slapd() { reason=`start-stop-daemon --stop --quiet --oknodo --retry TERM/10 \ --pidfile $SLAPD_PIDFILE \ --exec $SLAPD 21` } Removing --oknodo demonstrates a failure with exit code 1. The role of oknodo should be reconsidered here. Further experimentation shows that the --exec option is not working. That agrees with the return codes; 0 with --oknodo and 1 without it means that start-stop-daemon(8) thinks no action needs to be taken. However, your ps output above shows the command as /usr/sbin/slapd, which (assuming you haven't modified the init script) is exactly what --exec should be checking for. So I don't understand why this wouldn't be working for you. It definitely doesn't seem that slapd is failing to stop (which answers some of my questions above); I'd expect s-s-d to return 2 in that case. Can you verify that /proc/$(pidof slapd)/exe does point to /usr/sbin/slapd? Since the init script is checking for $SLAPD_PIDFILE and exiting if empty, I suggest just dropping --exec $SLAPD from the init script. It is superfluous and the service slapd stop command will work after its removal. As I understand it, the --exec test is there to protect against the case where the daemon has already died but the pidfile is stil present (for example, if it crashed), and some other unrelated process has already taken over the PID. My larger concern is *why* --exec isn't working properly on your system -- this could be a symptom of something more subtle. cheers, Ryan -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to openldap in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1376548 Title: service slapd stop fails To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openldap/+bug/1376548/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 342096] Re: SD Card containing /home corrupted on resume
This was still a problem in 13.10. It started ok, but then stared happening on 13.10. I'd done a fake-pae install on an X40 so can't comment on previous versions. It was magically 'fixed' when I upgraded to 14.04. but it just resurfaced :/ Suspend by shutting the lid or low power and when I resume, the system has lost track of the original mount and asks me if I want to view in file manager, as with removeable storage. This is a 5 year old bug, a lot of people with old notebooks boost the storage with SD cards, it would be very nice if we could rely on them. Mine is now mounted on /home/username/sd. I started using it a permanent storage after 14.04 upgrade 'fixed' the problem. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to pm-utils in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/342096 Title: SD Card containing /home corrupted on resume To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pm-utils/+bug/342096/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1363112] Re: StateSaver is not working on devices
I can confirm that QStandardPaths::writableLocation() is the main cause this and bug #1359831 is happening. The method checks whether the path specified is writable, and returns an empty string if cannot chmod +w on the path. The log we captured yesterday was not visible so far, therefore we diid not suspected that. Previous tests with the branch were working on device with any arbitrary sample app. Adding some logs to StateSaver resulted in the following: QStandardPaths: wrong permissions on runtime directory /run/user/32011 [StateSaver] PATH /com.ubuntu.camera/statesaver.appstate Which means that the state file was about to be created in the root folder due to QStandardPaths::writableLocation() returned empty string. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1363112 Title: StateSaver is not working on devices To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-ui-toolkit/+bug/1363112/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1371032] Re: Cannot send MMS from Yoigo
@Víctor, @Tony: Regarding roaming, there are already mechanisms that check the content of SIM files and the registered network that should prevent the registration state to be roaming, even in these cases when we bounce between different networks. Víctor, could you please check if you see a roaming indicator on the screen at any time? If that is the case, then that is an ofono bug. Otherwise, my best bet here is NetworkManager not trying to attach to the data network after a network change, as Tony has suggested above. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1371032 Title: Cannot send MMS from Yoigo To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/messaging-app/+bug/1371032/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1376375] Re: Add roaming customization hooks
@Tony: I am not sure this is really an issue. When operators have roaming agreements, they add the right content to SIM files so the modem/phone can detect whether the phone is really roaming or not. ofono already checks the content of these files to prevent the network status be roaming when it should not. If a given operator shows this issue, it is an ofono bug that we should be able to solve looking at SIM files (otherwise the operator's SIM is terribly broken - fortunately I have not seen this yet). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1376375 Title: Add roaming customization hooks To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ofono/+bug/1376375/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1359831] Re: Apps incorrectly perform a chmod on XDG_RUNTIME_DIR
This looks like the problem of using QStandardPaths::writableLocation(). The relevant code snipped from QStandardPaths::writableLocation(RuntimeLocation): // and he MUST be the only one having read and write access to it. Its Unix access mode MUST be 0700. QFile file(xdgRuntimeDir); const QFile::Permissions wantedPerms = QFile::ReadUser | QFile::WriteUser | QFile::ExeUser; if (file.permissions() != wantedPerms !file.setPermissions(wantedPerms)) { qWarning(QStandardPaths: wrong permissions on runtime directory %s, qPrintable(xdgRuntimeDir)); return QString(); } where QFile::permissions() drills down to ask for permissions using QFileSystemMetaData::doStat(). This seems to cause the chmod issue we have. Not sure whether the failure described in this bug is caused by the Toolkit's StateSaver services, but in case bug #1363112 fix solves this issue, it can be marked as resolved. In StateSaver we have similar issues as here, so at least I suspect the root cause is the same as we have in the other bug. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1359831 Title: Apps incorrectly perform a chmod on XDG_RUNTIME_DIR To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/camera-app/+bug/1359831/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
