[Bug 1376154] Re: data grid not displaying resultset is blank
This bug manifests itself in a number of different ways. All seem to be related to no data being populated in what should be the ListModel panes. Another way to observe this issue is to run mysql-workbench and open the sakila_full model. Once open double click on one of the tables in the diagram. At the bottom in the middle is a pane that should have a "column" tab. Click on that tab and should see that it is blank. Normally that pane would have a list of all the fields and their attributes and allow you to add/modify/delete any of the columns. This bug is a regression caused by changes in GLIB >= 2.42.2. It is rather severe in that it affects many aspects of the workbench from querying databases to editing the EER disagrams. This bug has been identified previously in Debian here: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=763356 The issue is a glib regression with glib >= 2.42.0 . Oracle provided a patch (referenced in this bug report) here: http://bugs.mysql.com/file.php?id=21874&bug_id=74147 The upstream bug associated with that patch can be found here: http://bugs.mysql.com/bug.php?id=74147 This bug has been fixed in Vivd Vervet (15.04) as can be found here: https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mysql-workbench/6.2.3+dfsg-6 I am attaching a debdiff patch that seems to work well to resolve this issue on Ubuntu Utopic Unicorn (14.10) and is the same patch (libglib2.42.patch) applied to mysql-workbench (6.2.3+dfsg-6) in Vivid Vervet (15.04) ** Patch added: "Patch (debdiff) to resolve this bug" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mysql-workbench/+bug/1376154/+attachment/4262145/+files/mysql-workbench_6.1.7%2Bdfsg-1.diff -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1376154 Title: data grid not displaying resultset is blank To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mysql-workbench/+bug/1376154/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Instead, I need to enter the "enter" key on the keyboard to get it verified. I think a good design could be that whenever an input is changed, the system checks it again the stored passphrase, if they both match, the system can automatically login without the need of pressing the "enter". it simply makes the login much easier. ** Affects: unity8 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1393310 Title: Automatic login aftter inputting the right passphrase To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity8/+bug/1393310/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1393306] [NEW] slapd: nssov does not work with lib{nss, pam}-ldapd 0.9.x
Public bug reported: nss-pam-ldapd 0.9 introduced incompatible changes to the nslcd protocol, with an accompanying version bump: http://arthurdejong.org/nss-pam- ldapd/release-0-9-0 nssov still speaks the old protocol, so can't be used for clients running utopic or vivid. slapd says: 54698bdd connection_get(14): got connid=0 54698bdd nssov: connection from uid=0 gid=0 54698bdd nssov: wrong nslcd version id (33554432) I started on a patch (nss mostly done, pam not done) and ran out of time. [Bug 1357321] Re: [TOPBLOCKER] QNetworkAccessManager doesn't support roaming on Ubuntu
I can confirm that the Saturday build with Lorn's newest patch, version ubuntu10~utopic1~test14, has the 3G connection staying alive. Unit tests in qtbase however started failing so the build was done with temporarily disabling those. My next build will be with the patch version 4 from upstream, and will be versioned ubuntu10~vrtm~1. If unit tests still fail, I will build a ~vrtm~2 with the latest patch (some found issues fixed) but unit tests still disabled so that it can still be tested. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1357321 Title: [TOPBLOCKER] QNetworkAccessManager doesn't support roaming on Ubuntu To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/platform-api/+bug/1357321/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1068509] Re: tk8.5 required but any versions of tk satisfy Depends
This bug was fixed in the package wavesurfer - 1.8.8p4-3ubuntu1 --- wavesurfer (1.8.8p4-3ubuntu1) vivid; urgency=medium * Merge from Debian unstable. Remaining changes: - debian/{wavesurfer.desktop,rules}: Add and install a .desktop file. * Debian removed wish from Depends (LP: #1068509). wavesurfer (1.8.8p4-3) unstable; urgency=medium * Fix broken initialisation of (Prefs,PrintCmd). This appears to have been silently broken since at least since 1.8.5, but now explodes with the new tk 8.5.15-4 when the Preferences Dialog is opened. * Remove the 'Defaults' and 'Apply' buttons from the Preferences Dialog. The SetDefaultPrefs function was 'obsoleted' between 1.8.5 and 1.8.8, so pressing that button just throws an error. The ApplyPreferences function was changed some time before 1.8.8 to clear the Info(Prefs,t,*) keys, so pressing it clears all the current values from the dialog, and it doesn't actually save them to the config file until you press Ok anyway, so avoid the disturbing visual and just simplify it to the choice of Ok or Cancel. * Fix the operation of "Make this the default configuration" when the Ogg plugin is present. That option is offered if no configuration file is present, and before the wsurf::ogg option 't' keys have been set, so it fails trying to write out the preferences when Info(t,quality) is read. Info(quality) et al. are initialised when the plugin is first loaded though, so just test if the 't' keys are set before using them. This would silently fail "successfully" with older tk, but now it throws an error with more recent versions. Closes: #738703 * Drop some debug verbiage that ordinary users don't care to see on the console. * Make the "no drag and drop support" message explain that you can get it if you install tkdnd, which we now also Suggest. * Drop wish as an alternative to tk8.5, this doesn't currently work with tk8.6 and I haven't yet looked at what will be needed to make it do so. -- Logan RosenSun, 16 Nov 2014 23:51:34 -0500 ** Changed in: wavesurfer (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Fix Released -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1068509 Title: tk8.5 required but any versions of tk satisfy Depends To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/wavesurfer/+bug/1068509/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I've now confirmed it is just the page flip event that takes almost two frames to arrive. And there are two workarounds that seem to successfully kick the driver into action: 3.5. glFinish() or 0. env INTEL_DEBUG=sync Using either of these workarounds, rendering completes in about 1ms and select then returns the next page flip event (~16ms interval). So it seems the intel batching logic is deferring rendering way too long, or the page flip event delivery is being deferred. However the two workarounds suggest the former. Re: [Bug 1393151] Re: mkfs.ext3 causes kernel panic on new WD 6 TB drive
Can you try running memtest86+ for 12-24 hours, and see if that turns up anything? Sometimes flaky memory can result in very confusing problems / symptoms --- espeially when it almost but not always works correctly. The other thing which I might be suspicious about is if there might be some subtle flaw (either in the design, or your specific mainboard --- i.e., maybe a slightly cracked trace in the PCB) that is affecting DMA transfers from the HDD, but not from the USB stick. If you can borrow a 2TB USB-attached HDD, and try that, and that works, but a 2TB drive attached via SATA fails, then I would be deeply suspicious of your mainboard. Did this ever work before? What changed recently? Did you upgrade to a newer version of the distro, kernel, etc.? Has the system been recently moved (dropped, etc.)? Or is this a completely new installation? Sorry for asking such basic questions, but this really doesn't smell like a software bug at this point. - Ted -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1393151 Title: mkfs.ext3 causes kernel panic on new WD 6 TB drive To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/e2fsprogs/+bug/1393151/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1030387] Re: Closing notebook lid can log user out, breaks network manager and more
Adam Victor Nazareth Brandizzi, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is manually attached. Please follow these instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer. First, execute at a terminal: cd /var/crash && sudo rm * ; sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get -y upgrade && sudo service apport start force_start=1 If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport in /etc/default/apport and restart. Now reproduce the crash, then open your file manager, navigate to your /var/crash directory and open the crash report you wish to submit. If this fails you will have to open a terminal and file your report with 'ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash' where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report. If you get an error that you aren't allowed to access this report you will have to file it with 'sudo ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash'. If you run the command against the crash report and a window pops up asking you to report this, but then never opens a new report, you would be affected by https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apport/+bug/994921 . In order to WORKAROUND this, one would need to open the following file via a command line: sudo nano /etc/apport/crashdb.conf and comment out the line: 'problem_types': ['Bug', 'Package'], by changing it to: # 'problem_types': ['Bug', 'Package'], Save, close, and try to file the crash report again via: ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently. Please do not attach your crash report manually to this report and reopen it. Thank you for your understanding. [Bug 1377872] Re: Double-buffered compositing performance is very poor (30 FPS)
As I've tracked the issue into the intel driver code and the workarounds for test case A don't help B, we might have to split this bug in two. ** Description changed: Double-buffered compositing performance is poor. Fortunately we don't use double-buffering in our default compositor (mostly), and Ubuntu touch does not use the default compositor either. However, if you make the compositor double-buffered, then it quickly drops down to 30 FPS while not consuming any significant CPU or render time. Test case A: Convert your compositor to double buffering by the code change suggested in bug 1350725. - Test case B: + Test case B (different bug?): Switch all clients to double-buffering using this branch: lp:~vanvugt/mir/double and then start a nested server. Now start a bunch of clients, and you will find they slow down to 30 FPS after only starting a few. This does not happen with the default triple buffered compositor. I've been ignoring this issue for a little while [1] thinking I had simply run out of power, although suspected that can't be right as this is a powerful quad-core i7 and it's slowing down with only 10 clients. [1] https://bugs.launchpad.net/mir/+bug/1350725/comments/1 Now today test case B has revealed (via MIR_CLIENT_PERF_REPORT) that the slowdown happens without using any significant render time (less than 2 ms) and without using any significant CPU (less than 20% of one out of four cores). So the conclusion is our default compositor is probably holding buffers for a little too long somewhere. Because that's the only sensible reason I can think of for my system to bog down to 30 FPS without stressing the CPU or GPU. We've got poor parallelism in our code somewhere. And once that's solved, we'll be able to make further improvements such as resolving bug 1350725. ** Changed in: mir Assignee: Cemil Azizoglu (cemil-azizoglu) => Daniel van Vugt (vanvugt) ** Bug watch added: freedesktop.org Bugzilla #86366 https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=86366 ** Also affects: mesa via https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=86366 Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown ** Also affects: mesa (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1377872 Title: Double-buffered compositing performance is very poor (30 FPS) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/mesa/+bug/1377872/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
