[Bug 1394327] Re: unmapping of persistent grants in qemu
SRU justification: Impact: As soon as dom0 starts qemu it will try to locally attach QCOW(2) images in case a PV guest is using those. This results in the described errors and sometimes the whole host is rendered unusable. Fix: Cherry picking an upstream patch (which was done already for Vivid) resolves the issues. Testcase: Prepare a PV guest that uses a QCOW2 image and try to start it. Depends on Xen starting dom0 (bug #1396068). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to qemu in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1394327 Title: unmapping of persistent grants in qemu To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/qemu/+bug/1394327/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 1396068] Re: [Xen/xl] dom0 needs to run qemu for qcow access
SRU justification: Impact: Without starting a QEMU instance for dom0 it is not possible to use advanced disk image types for PV guests because pygrub then cannot peek into them to pick kernel images to start. However this setup is the default for nova-xen (openstack). Fix: Picking up changes from Debian (and now also in Vivid already) to the init script which starts and stops QEMU for dom0. Testcase: After package upgrade and subsequent reboots there is a qemu- system-i386 process attached to dom0. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to xen in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1396068 Title: [Xen/xl] dom0 needs to run qemu for qcow access To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xen/+bug/1396068/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1401148] Re: Re/starting an lxc container corrupts all network namespaces on the same physical host
So for now I added also a task for the kernel, though the truth (if such a thing exists) could be somewhere between. Serge, Stephane, what we probably need to figure out is what exactly lxc-start tries to get done when slave mounting /run/netns. And somehow it might be possible that it needs improvement for the case that this is denied or fails. Looking at it from the outside it feels like going on assuming it got its own space but actually continuing to use the host space. The other thing would be that this sound like lxc-start would require a rule to actually allow it to do that mount of /run/netns. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to lxc in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1401148 Title: Re/starting an lxc container corrupts all network namespaces on the same physical host To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1401148/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1401148] Re: Re/starting an lxc container corrupts all network namespaces on the same physical host
so I think it's some systemd handling which does that. LXC unshares the mnt namespace which gets it a copy of the host's, then it's doing some magic (rprivate I believe) to get things working under systemd, then mounts what it needs, unmounts everything else and pivot_root. lxc itself has no code to deal with /run/netns, so it's not special casing it.

[Bug 1401570] [NEW] libvirt 1.2.2 old xml file when rebooting
Public bug reported: We are working on an Ubuntu 14.04 tls server with qemu libvirt. We are running a virtual machine and we make snapshots through: virsh snapshot-create-as $name $date --diskspec $device,file=$path$name/$name_$date.$extension --disk-only --atomic Everything good so far, this is running for almost 3 years now. But since we updated from libvirt 1.0.2 (ubuntu 12.04) to libvirt 1.2.2 (package version 13.7), we are having problems. After we make a snapshot and reboot the host server, we have after the restart an old xml file ! Steps to reproduce: - starting VM - virsh edit vmname (you'll see at the source ...name.qcow2) - now create snapshot (command above) - virsh edit vmname (now you'll see in the source, the snapshotname ...snapshotname.qcow2) - now rebooting the server - after reboot: virsh edit vmname (and you'll see the old XML file = source ...name.qcow2 instead of ...snapshotname.qcow2) We have succesfully reproduced this bug at a clean system, fully updated. [Bug 1350947] Re: apparmor: no working rule to allow making a mount private
As a result of the slave versus make-slave revelation, I've created two upstream AppArmor bugs. The first is for the AppArmor documentation being wrong about the acceptable mount option strings (bug #1401619). The second is for the AppArmor parser accepting unknown mount option strings (bug #1401621). Since the fix for this specific bug will come as an lxc update, I'm going to mark the AppArmor tasks in this bug as invalid and use the two bugs mentioned above. ** Changed in: apparmor Status: Confirmed = Invalid ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Invalid ** Description changed: + NOTE: This bug will be fixed with an update to lxc. [Bug 1401658] [NEW] Host veth mtu not preserved during container reboot
Public bug reported: LXC containers configured with lxc.network.mtu = 9000 On start/restart using lxc-* commands, the mtu on the host and in container interface is correctly set to 9000. However, if the container is rebooted internally, the mtu of the veth on the host resets to 1500, whilst the container interface is still set to 9000. This causes some odd network behaviour. I would love to help with testing of metadata_csum as match as possible. Espesially becouse i waiting for this option so long time. But there are two problem which make it hard to do: - no e2fsprogs 1.43 package even on ppa. - all systems are still created without 64bit enabled. Before testing we need: - add 64bit option to mke2fs.conf by default. - make 1.42 not complain if metadata_csum is enabled. - provide ppa package with big fat warning: don't cry if you test it -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1365874 Title: Ubuntu 14.04 does not support ext4 metadata checksumming To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/e2fsprogs/+bug/1365874/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
