since the system was unconfigured yet, i allowed overwriting all config files

As I explained in comment #31, I had the same issue with a Toshiba
laptop, and things were soved with secure boot and GRUB2 after updating
the laptop BIOS.
Maybe you should give a try, if your laptop BIOS is not up-to-date, see:
With current ubuntu LO (4.3.3) the issue stands.
As I wrote upstream, the added text seems to be the control's 'label'
property.

Enabling the /etc/pm/sleep.d/ script makes my desktop flash for a moment after
I unlock my screen, and then I'm thrown back to the unlock screen and I have to
log in again. The second time nothing happens and I have to unblank my screen
using the hotkey. It also happend
