[Bug 1242678]

2015-01-08 Thread Marek Kašík
Created attachment 111925
Rotate documents correctly

I've prepared a simple patch which also solves this problem. It just rotates
what we get from ghostscript at pixel level. It takes more time than rendering
it directly to the format we want but it works.
I'm just not sure about slice rendering. Should the result be slice from
rotated page or rotated slice from page?

[Bug 1407522] Re: 14e4:4311 [HP Compaq nx7400 Notebook PC] bcmwl package was suggested by KDE driver manager but broke the system

2015-01-08 Thread Rostislav Kandilarov
Ok, sent a email.

Writing here just if anybody else come to the same problem to note also the
following:
when installing bcmwl-kernel-source package will be generated a blacklist file:
/etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-bcm43.conf
which has line:
install wl modprobe -r b43 b44 b43legacy ssb; modprobe --ignore-install wl ;
modprobe --ignore-install b44
that one should comment out if want to both keep bcmwl package and have b44(LAN
driver) loaded on demand .

[Bug 1405930]

2015-01-08 Thread Alireza-fateh
I changed the flag manually and it seems to have solved the problem but after
this I am experiencing a bug that I am not sure if it is related to changing
this flag or not.
When I have multiple tabs open, sometimes the tabs wont open when I click on
them, meaning that Firefox shows that a new tab is clicked by bringing it
forward but the page under the tab remains from the previous opened tab.
Does anybody know what is causing this?
p.s. Hardware acceleration is turned off in my Firefox settings. Everything
else is set to default.

[Bug 1353526] Re: [Asus F552L] Touchpad not working in ubuntu 14.04

2015-01-08 Thread Gabriele Volpi
In terminal I write
git clone git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git
cd linux
git checkout v3.18-rc1
git bisect start
git bisect good 3.18-rc1
git bisect bad v3.17.7

At this last command it answers:
fatal: Needed a single revision
Bad rev input: v3.17.7

Why?

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make

seems that there is a problem with the disk to which you are trying to
install Ubuntu. I'd recommend performing a back up of your existing
operating system and then investigating the situation. Measures you
might take include checking cable connections for your disks and using
software tools to investigate the health of your hardware. In the event
that is is not in fact an error with your hardware please set the bug's

[Bug 1364630] Re: init: Error while reading from descriptor: Broken pipe

2015-01-08 Thread Paul Abrahams
I.ve installed the 20140923 microcode update. It solved the buffer
underrun problem I was having but not the broken pipe problem. The
reason I thought it would help is that I saw a post somewhere saying
that this update worked but the previous one (20140624) did not. I've
been trying without success to find that post again to see just what it
was that this update was supposed to have fixed.

With this update I get the line in dmesg that says

CPU0 microcode updated early to revision 0x29, date = 2013-06-12

The form of the line seems correct but the date looks suspicious.

Meanwhile thes primary problem remains unsolved -- I can't get past the
broken pipe message. After it comes up I get bounced to a virtual
console.

[Bug 1322925] Re: [SRU] Copy, paste stops working randomly in Ubuntu 14.04 nautilus

2015-01-08 Thread Miklos Juhasz
** Description changed:

  [Impact]

Since upgrade to 14.04, copy / cut / paste of files among various
folders I have write rights on does not work most of the times.

  [Test Case]

- 1. Open a Nautilus window.
+ 1. Open a Nautilus window and switch to List view
  2. Go to location with write permission
  3. Select a file and try to rename.
  4. When prompted to rename (filename becomes a text entry), open new tab.
  5. Select a file, try to copy and paste. You will see that file is not copied
and pasted.
  6. Go back to original tab. If the file that was selected in step 3 is still
selected, unselect it.
  7. Try to copy and paste. It should work.
  8. Try to rename again, and open new tab.
  9. Close old tab, and try to copy and paste. It won't work, and there is no
way to restore, except opening a new window.

  [Regression Potential]

  Already fixed upstream with

https://git.gnome.org/browse/nautilus/commit/?id=8032628adc9c8286050716d609c574dc7273dfcb

[Bug 1408857] [NEW] Precise update to 3.2.66 stable release

2015-01-08 Thread Seth Forshee
Public bug reported:

SRU Justification

Impact:
The upstream process for stable tree updates is quite similar
in scope to the Ubuntu SRU process, e.g., each patch has to
demonstrably fix a bug, and each patch is vetted by upstream
by originating either directly from Linus' tree or in a minimally
backported form of that patch. The 3.2.66 upstream stable
patch set is now available. It should be included in the Ubuntu
   kernel as well.

Dears,

what was the problem in my case. After connecting to VPN using openvpn, I was
not able to browse the internet. The solution:
 1) in the advanced section to set the Getaway port to 443
 2) to check use TCP connection
 3) Save

I hope it works for you

[Bug 1404396] Re: [regression] vgabios - seabios breaks (my) 16-bit applications

2015-01-08 Thread Richard Laager
I rebuilt seabios git with CONFIG_DEBUG_LEVEL=8 and added the following
options, as per:
http://www.seabios.org/pipermail/seabios/2011-May/001718.html

  qemu:commandline
qemu:arg value='-chardev'/
qemu:arg value='stdio,id=seabios'/
qemu:arg value='-device'/
qemu:arg value='isa-debugcon,iobase=0x402,chardev=seabios'/
  /qemu:commandline

I've attached the log file from the guest. All of the log output is from
booting. No additional output appears when running the 16-bit
application. I've also attached screenshots of the error in the guest,
though I doubt they'll be very useful.

[Bug 1408868] [NEW] crashes early during install, I say continue, then crashes for good during configuring keyboard

2015-01-08 Thread Jack Bowling
Public bug reported:

Downloaded 2015-01-08 daily build of Ubuntu 15.04 and tried to install
directly to sda4 which is a test partition I made. Plenty of room, about
260M. Locale is English US so no diacriticals in text. Crashes out
trying to configure keyboard. I would love to paste the contents of
/var/log/syslog and partman but it seems I can only attach one file at a
time using this bug reporting tool. If you need partman, let me know.

+ 1. Open a Nautilus window.
+ 2. Go to location with write permission
+ 3. Select a file and try to rename.
+ 4. When prompted to rename (filename becomes a text entry), open new tab.
+ 5. Select a file, try to copy and paste. You will see that file is not copied
and pasted.
+ 6. Go back to original tab. If the file that was selected in step 3 is still
selected, unselect it.
+ 7. Try to copy and paste. It should work.
+ 8. Try to rename again, and open new tab.
+ 9. Close old tab, and try to copy and paste. It won't work, and there is no
way to restore, except opening a new window.
